  2. Ok. Thanks for the reply. Love your work. Keep it up and thank you
  3. No plans atm
  4. Hi. I haven't used StartAllBack in a while as I have explored Start11 They are lacking support for the phone link. Is that anything that works or plans to make it work in the future with the start menu?
  5. Today
  6. a alignment is made for a "piece of area" if you have a "align area" for 1 MB (aka 1´048´576) then 2048 sectors of 512 bits would fit in there (or 256 sectors of 4k (4096)) if you dont have a "align area" that rounds up correctly it might lead into a sector, cluster, track, cylinder, whatever in between a other the 512 bit and 4096 bit sector question been around for a while now, the hardware/firmware can also handle this - in this case this in then made in the harddrive not the operation system anymore if the firmware handles that right it can emulate logical and physical sectors - a drive is made at least of 3 maybe more parts (cluster, cylinder, sector) - its a combination not a single piece like "i want this specific sector" this is very common for other electronic parts to translate for example a "logical address" to a "physical address", or segmentation (thus 32 bit can write past 4 GB) whereehere the electric signals in the ram apear is then part of that -hardware piece- or in case of a harddrive in hand´s of that firmware this also make the -32 wires question- come out again - a USB only has 4 wires - and a usb cable can write to a "terabyte + harddrive" - you dont need always 32 or 64 wires to do this i wonder why noone has made the related change in the windows xp operating system yet - basicly it sounds simple to ask the harddrive what sectors it uses (sometimes called the AF (advanced format)) but its just 4 k sectors the term AF sounds a bit to high for opinion after that the right controlment for the 4 k sector has to be written - if it reads out a different sector size it handles for that size https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/backup-and-storage/support-policy-4k-sector-hard-drives the x-box solution maybe ? if not it was like everything is a paragon driver problem
  7. It also works, but after launching it sets the timer to 2 ms, after launching the browser it switches to 1 ms, and after closing the program it remains at 1 ms.
  8. Sure, what version do you want to link it to? yt-dlp_x86_win7.exe, yt-dlp_win7.exe or yt-dlp_win7.zip Note, that you can update the .exe files with -U.
  9. How updated is your Windows XP? Only SP3 or all updates till end of support (april 2014) or maybe also all of the extended support updates (2019)? I haven't tried GPT on XP yet, but what new disks I have with normal partitions, I can tell you that disk access is faster if partitions are aligned with disk's layout. I don't really worry about how BIOS recognises the disks, I have all of them on "Auto" and then I just align partitions (to cylinder for XP) with Minitool Partition Wizard.
  10. Since there now a separate, required build for Windows 7, can you please add a small link in the signature? So far no problems.
  11. Thanks, but firefox/128.0 it's a very heavy for wnxp-compatibile computers. I set compatibility to native and add override
  12. I pay with smartphone payment application since it is modern and cash is old...ok that was awful joke. I never used those and never will. Of course I do. Cash does not require server check to function and checking balance is as easy as opening wallet.
  13. Sorry, I mistyped — it’s Win+Shift+T. I’m on version 25H2, and my Snipping Tool version is 11.2507.15.0.
  14. change user agent compatibility to firefox compatibility in preferences dialog.
  15. I use this https://github.com/temerkhanov/SetTimerService on XP guests in VMware that has distorted audio on modern CPUs. Noticed it when i upgraded to Ryzen (Zen2). Host XP was fine, but got audio distortion when running XP as guest VM. I for sure was not using the "frequency divider fix" at the time. I can't remember if "HAL_acpitimer_fix" was being used. My XP ISO that i use for VMs has SetTimerService set up to run by default now, so I never did do a proper test. If someone wants to try it: XP host + VM Workstation 10 + XP guest on Ryzen using pure XP ISO should get the audio distortion issue. Then try the hal with timer+frequency fix and see if it stops distortion by itself. If it doesn't, then SetTimerService is still needed for XP VMs.
  16. I had the same "unsupported browser" issue for CAPTCHAs as @raddy for NewMoon. Noticed it a couple of days ago, i think Oct 1 or 2 is when it stopped working. Both on an older build and on the latest build of NM. Works fine on basilisk. Changing the useragent also fixed the issue for me. I ended up using one of the other overrides strings that was already in NewMoon.
  17. I pay in cash, I make a difference. I read D.Draker also pays in cash. Do you pay in cash?
  18. Yesterday
  19. @jumper Thanks! I'd downloaded that but I thought I'd ask for D00748-001-002.exe or 5.1.0.2800/2700/2100, since these later drivers may offer some functionality improvement. Just in case you or anyone else downloaded any of these files back in the day and still has them, it'd be awesome if you could share here. But if not, it can't be helped
  20. Thank you so much for this solution. As soon as I deleted the EnShellFeedsTaskbarViewMode key from Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Feeds, the Start menu delay disappeared straight away without having to restart.
  21. now it works, added override to New Moon
  22. I think I am past point of missing old internet. Just trying cling to past and not saying I am missing old internet wont going to help. There were also evil things there like "Only viewable on internet exploder 4 or worse" I admit I used to also fall into that. What is typical problem there is that you keep doing things you totally disagree with and keep saying it. Then one day it hit me. What if instead of trying clinging to past memories I bring past to current. Nobody says you must use Spotispy, or any other things. What if instead of just using what everyone else is using to communicate (whatsapp) or do other stuff you use what you want to use and can be used on systems you have. If you really hate smartphones you don't have to have one, you can get still basic handsets even if live in country where GSM is killed, they are cheap ones usually sold for elderly people. If you hate modern Windows don't use it. Use something like linux mint to do "modern" stuff like filling out tax card, doing banking etc then outside that use whatever system and OS you feel good at. There are many projects that makes them usable. For example Windows 98 can totally be used for tasks with help of Pidgin, Retrozilla 2.3, proper codecs, putty win32 legacy etc. And if you think all your friends will stop talking to you if change way then ask are they really your friends if they will end friendship at that point. Sure there are some limits for what can be considered tolerable. If you would say now I will only communicate with smoke signals then it would be understandable that they are upset. You might think I just lack any friends and I got handful of them only but they are good friends I talk almost daily or hang with whenever just can. Most "friends" I had were just burden to me. If work requires them then you use during working hours as you should always keep work and personal life separate. I use whatever phone and computer employer tells me to during hours my wage is running and when hours are filled I leave them at the office or if home switch off power until next shift. I do not do any of personal work on company laptop or phone since security and not wanting mix up my personal and work life. If you are being your own employer you should still separate work and personal devices for security reasons as having one of them compromised compromises both. As for the web, you don't have to make site that forces SSL, bot protection, requires complex CSS and scripting etc. You can make one very basic. Just don't fall into wannabe 90s geocities site trend. You do not want but million animated gifs and annoying embedded midis into your site or write it with Microsoft RuntPage. I hated those site back then and hate whenever I see one of them today. You should prefer minimalism and avoid going over HTML4 strict. Something like Mozilla composer with css disabled is good starting point if you suck at coding or just want streamline doing site and then just do small fixes by hand with text editor. World is not going to change is nobody does nothing and just sit on their a** and complain. It starts change by making difference yourself.
  23. It 's working here on New Moon.
  24. I thought this article about the internet past and present was a good read. A warning ahead on 'language' ... maybe not for the 'faint of heart'. Most people might use the word 'crap' in their article. It goes up a notch in this article but it gets to the point. I myself miss the old internet from when a person didn't have to prove they were a human, had to solve a puzzle by moving pieces around, check all the squares with butterflies or whatever. Way past its prime: how did Amazon get so rubbish? https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/oct/05/way-past-its-prime-how-did-amazon-get-so-rubbish Cory Doctorow Sun 5 Oct 2025 ...
  25. OK. I just installed 3.9.16 and I no longer experience crashing with the Classic context menus switched off. But Explorer takes forever to load with the Classic context menu switched off.
  26. StartAllBack 3.9.16
  27. Updated yt-dlp_Py3.13.7_x86_Vista. (with IOS patch )
