  1. Past hour
  2. I’m already working on a plan B in case Panda Dome 22.03.05 continues to be a nuisance. I’m currently observing version 21.01.00 on my second Windows XP partition, which I’ve never uninstalled or updated.
  3. This thread is actually only for Windows XP users. I had written back then that version 23.00.00 is not available for Windows XP, and that much is clear. Okay. The dates have always been confusing with Panda. There is no official version history, nor is there a changelog. The only file that can be used is VERSION.INI inside the programme folder. However, the build date does not have to match the release date. I'll just change the date to the build date of 12.08.2025 in my main article and in the list of all programmes.
  4. Today
  5. That's only for XP users, though. We discovered earlier that if you download and install the latest version from Panda on Windows 10, say, you get that version. If you install it on XP, however, it automatically downloads and installs an earlier version (22.03.05). I assume that is the latest (and probably last) version for XP. The build date for that version is 12/08/2025, which I think you thought was December because you didn't realise the date was in European format, so it's August 12th, not December 8th, even older than you thought! The current version is 23.01.00.0000, whose build date is 29/06/2026, so very recent. Nothing back from Panda support as yet. I have disabled the real-time scanning, which has stopped Panda interfering with the rest of my system, but the service is still crashing. In my case I can only tell this by looking at the Windows System Event Log. The service is automatically restarted after 30 seconds.
  6. Incidentally, one thing that’s a bit of a shame about Panda Dome – particularly for paying customers – is the lack of programme updates since December 2025. That’s nearly seven months. And here is my statement about the Panda support from January: https://msfn.org/board/topic/184730-antimalware-firewall-and-other-security-programs-for-windows-xp-working-in-2023-and-hopefully-beyond/page/86/#findComment-1284505
  7. Yesterday night, I had a further crash of the PSANHost.exe process. I clicked the OK button and after a short delay the process was automatically restarted. The crash was related to the ntdll.dll file. But I couldn’t be bothered to look into it any further. I assume that since 2 July, Panda has been trying to load something that isn’t XP-compatible since there were no crashes previously. Just a theory, of course. But at least there was some self-healing.
  8. Yesterday
  9. Well, I've reported the problem and had an acknowledgement back that the report has been received. Let's see what happens!
  10. I reported an issue to Panda support long time ago. But I never got an answer. So don’t get your hopes up too much, even if you’re a paying customer! The reviews or comments you can read everywhere in the WWW state a non-existent support. I'm curious to see if they'll reply. Let me know if you feel like it!
  11. I see absolutely no grounds for assuming that they are dropping XP support. There could be any number of reasons for this issue, none of them intentional. Could be an expired certificate, who knows?! There's only one way to find out, and that's to ask Panda, which I will!
  12. After oh so much testing - the answer for XP fltmgr is hidden not in Windows2003, but in fully updated Windows 2000; as XP is nothing but upgraded (poorly) Win2000 (best Windows ever).
  13. You can also try sending Panda peoplez a report via web-form on their site. I tried and it said I don't have an account although anti-virus is activated. Hypocrites - claming XP support and then this! P.S.: And crash again at evening update. As the doctorb ordered.
  14. Ok. I was starting to think I’d fallen behind. In any case, Panda Dome 22.03.05 has been running for months without any problems, apart from yesterday – but that was only for a few minutes.
  15. Sorry, 'pattern update' probably isn't the right term in this case. It's the synchonisation of your installation with the Panda cloud data, which it does automatically every day. I simply forced a manual update, which appeared to work.
  16. Sorry, but facts are facts. Insults are insults. They weren’t sugar-coated, and they weren’t moderated. Not even by you. From where did you get a manual pattern update of Panda Dome? And as I already said, there are some regular background updates in terms of catalog things. I think relating to ads and offers which might cause such crashes.
  17. Stop the bickering please. FWIW I'm having the same issue with Panda Dome 22.03.05. As you say, the main service keeps stopping and then restarting. I have updated the Windows root certificates and cleared the Windows temp folder. The first instance of a crash was yesterday, 2nd July, at 1312 my time. There are other symptoms on my system, which may or may not be related. Windows Explorer is locking up quite often. It always recovers after being frozen, but it can take a couple of minutes. The taskbar is completely frozen during that time, although I can still open windows like My Computer. I have done a manual pattern update of Panda Dome, which did work. I haven't tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, as far as I'm concerned that would be the very last resort. I'd be very surprised if this were the start of any withdrawal of Windows XP support, in fact, Panda make a big thing of the fact that it is still compatible with XP! https://www.pandasecurity.com/en/mediacenter/best-antivirus-for-windows-xp/ Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a support forum for Panda Dome, only the usual chat options.
  18. https://msfn.org/board/topic/177099-which-antiviruses-are-known-for-a-fact-to-be-working-on-xp-sp3-as-of-2019/page/23/#findComment-1228779 For science? You're kidding, aren't you? I suppose you mean for killing my Windows XP installation. That aside, do you really think I’d do something like that for someone who upvotes personal insults directed at me? Seriously? I would suggest to ask your chatty mate. Maybe he can chat up a solution for you.
  19. Well not so good anymore, PSANHost again crashed around 18:35 when it updated. The other times I manually clicked Start Antivirus, this time I let it be and it recuperated on its own. Hopefull it'll work, or something. Indeed. Avast for XP is fine, although bloated on the outside I always chose only the 4 shields in "Custom" installation and it doesn't slow down the system hardly at all. If only it wouldn't pester csrss (it usually shows the next day). Just try it OK, for science. You can delete it later.
  20. Yes, in this case, we are only talking about the "First Edition" aka "Standard Edition". On Windows 98 Second Edition and Windows Millennium Edition, the "KMIXER" replacement is no longer required. The absence of sound with VxD drivers affects all of these operating systems.
  21. Is that supposed to be a touch of humour? I’ll take it that way, then. My thorough analysis has already been finished in terms of Panda when I wrote my previous post. No one with real-time protection. Except some unknown, paid ones from untrusted countries. I had a long, long go with Avast in the past. The last XP-compatible version is totally bloated and crap, even Avast Free Antivirus. I wouldn’t even bother analysing the tiniest little thing anymore. Avast has been a thing of the past for me for years.
  22. Please do, Mr. Iwearblackglassesinthemiddleofthenight. I don't see any other antivirus available for XP anymore, do you? Your analysis would also be needed to fix Avast and its belabouring of the Client Server Runtime Process (csrss) service. I find Avast better than any other really because of its 3 point protection. In the meanwhile I purged and re-instated all certificates, 2x uninstalled Panda with their uninstaller.exe and clean-installed 22.03.01 (22.03.05 is slow to start here too). So far so good.
  23. Just converting partition to FAT will make NT4.0 unbootable. It's configured for NTFS. It's complicated with these old NT's. They're very specific. Boot loader is another problem. I'm actually in awe you managed to build the whole thing. It's quite involved I imagine. Too much for me.
  24. You mean Cauldron Filthcare?
  25. Extract Mypal 78.0.3 in your target folder. When starting the browser, create a new profile folder in your desired location. Then close the browser. Remove all files in your just created profile folder and copy all files from your old profile folder into it. Restatt the browser. When doing so, you won't lose anything. Additionally, I’ve created a very special user.js file that’s tailored precisely to my ageing hardware. It’s only ever loaded once, right at the first start of the browser. This is how I’ve been installing a new version of Mypal for years.
  26. Stands FE for First Edition?
  27. When updating to the newer version, it lost all my settings and bookmarks. I did have back up of bookmarks. I still have same problems with Cloudflare
  28. Last week
  29. Thanks but I am not interested in workarounds. Either the forum editor is able to process code syntax in the dedicated code block or it is simply unusuable and crap.
