Of course. Not being a real administrator is much better. But you were already used to that from Windows 8. So nothing new under the sun. BTW, my Windows XP runs perfectly.

Meh ! My opinion . Vista and XP are just too old. I used to be a lot more "vintagey" with operating systems, but i find it just holds you back. Worrying about compatibility and what not just starts to waste time. I'm even in the process of migrating to LTSC because Windows 8 is starting to get long in the tooth, mostly because all of these browser fork authors are changing their minds on a whim about development direction. One starts to realize there's more to life than worrying about areall this stuff. To each their own though.

Cloudflare's alleged Browser Developer Program Apparently there is a Cloudflare Browser Developer Program mentioned by Moonchild: CloudFlare: summary and status. And here is the official announcement: Announcing the Cloudflare Browser Developer Program. But clicking on their form Cloudflare Browser Development Program Application leads to that: Cloudflare and its developers are nothing more than propagandists and charlatans. This service holds a monopoly, which it exploits ruthlessly, and should be regulated by law under threat of very heavy financial penalties. Cheers, AstroSkipper

My Browser Builds (Part 6)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I implemented in my ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3 package the tool Min2Tray which I therefore have been using for years. So I can minimise any other programme to the systray as well. That was the best I could find. -
Hello, I've always dreamed of a Windows 9x netbook. I became inspired upon realizing the intel atoms and Thinkpad 60 were just *barely* out of reach. So, I became lucky to stumble upon this model that just happens to have unofficial 9x support. However, I have just a few problems now: USB - Fixed. I had to uninstall the USB devices after installing the chipset. Ethernet - While I don't use internet personally, is there a 9x model driver available? It seems this model uses a different version than my Dell Latitude D600. SD Card Reader - Oddly, using the Universal Driver Pack ended up installing a "Texas Instruments PCIxx20 Integrated FlashMedia Controller." However, Windows ME still won't recognize devices when I plug them in after boot.

Anyone have suggestions for minimize to tray for Mailnews on XP? I tried FireTray but it does not seem to work. EDIT: MinTrayR 1.3.2 seems to work. -

yes it is, someone filed an issue about it in upstream and it shows that github makes bad assumption. https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/UXP/issues/3154#issuecomment-48034 -
Macrium Reflect Free is a very good program. I use it for creating and restoring images from my disks for years, it saved me from not a few system reinstalls.

My Browser Builds (Part 6)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Thanks! And yes, I know that. It has been reported here. However, my statement had a completely different intention. I try to stay some releases behind. As the release from 2026-06-27 is running fine here and quite close to PM 34.3.1 from 2026-06-24, there is no need for me to update at the moment. I don’t need regressions at the time and am trying to avoid them. Once the regressions reach MCP's Pale Moon, a solution will surely be found. Unless, of course, @roytam1 has a solution for this first. Unfortunately, however, he isn’t particularly talkative. -

With regards to GitHub being broken in UXP browsers, the last GOOD NM28 build is: palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20260718-d849524bd-uxp-edd86c9a9d-xpmod whereas the next release, palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20260725-d849524bd-uxp-30427c0213-xpmod is the first BAD one ; so, the regression window is: https://github.com/roytam1/UXP/compare/edd86c9a9d...30427c0213 @roytam1, do you think you can spot the culprit? (perhaps Issue #3144 - Implement CSSStyleSheet replaceSync ?) The release assets and relative timestamp issues are both due to the same root cause, as they're both fine in the "last good" build: Thanks in advance ... - Last week

TBH, there is actually no need to directly update New Moon 28 when a new update is available. The release from 2026-06-27 is running fine here. Maybe, we should stop playing guinea pigs for the Windows XP haters on the Pale Moon forum. Their current release is 34.3.1 from 2026-06-24, and therefore GitHub will probably still run well in their current Pale Moon release https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=33602. They may feel free to be this time the first to struggle with the faulty updates. I've been a bit behind on updating for a while now. Strictly according to the motto: Never change a running system! At least for a few weeks. -

Hi @Tihiy! In lastest experimental channel build of Windows 11 (29634, and also in 29639) At the start menu is having a visual glitch. A example a white point and a strange line when you hover at start menu button. Also i've change an icon for a app (which it does have 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 and 256x256px) but in StartAllBack's Taskbar it shows in lower res. (that icon near startmenu) which can be viewed here (https://ibb.co/q3FycmjC) Verson of StartAllBack used is 3.9.24 with DarkMagic disabled. Affects newer installations of Windows, so this is a issue. Image links are here: https://ibb.co/1fZ5dBN2 https://ibb.co/d4ST0QSM https://ibb.co/G3r2dcVN

On a modern system, Norton Ghost is rather problematic. The following rule applies to imaging (backup) software: The more modern the computer, the more recent the imager.

Macrium is of course an interesting tool as it has an additonal feature called Macrium ReDeploy to restore a Windows system image to completely different hardware.

@roytam1 Hi, downloads no longer work on GitHub with the latest versions 52 and 55 of Basilisk (2026-07-31 and 2026-07-24). Clicking on “Assets” does not display the available files for download. There are no issues with the versions from July 17, 2026. Thanks a lot for your great work -

All of Codeberg.org at the moment for me. As I’ve already mentioned, I’ve had no problems accessing Codeberg from Germany. It works fine here. I've just tested it again.
