You're wrong. First, I didn't use VPN, second, it says: the page "isn't not working", when someone is blocked, the error code is "403 FORBIDDEN". I get 429, not 403, please pay attention to what I write.

In any case, and since this is OT here , I won't be posting more on this issue; however, I and other MSFN members will, no doubt, continue using ImgUr as an external image hoster, if it suits my/their needs...

I got absolutely another error, I assumed it was (most probably) related to MSFN website/editor, I didn't have any errors upon visiting the page directly, I didn't know it was an imgur link,

I thought the image was attached, that's why I made a screenshot with spacer. png, and UCyborg already helped, so why you just start minding your own business, and leave us be? Thanks.

I suggest to simply delete that possibly infected Trojan executable file. It works without it! I think it's safe to assume it can be a part tracking/spying features. I mean, if the browser works fine without it!

Your posts, maybe, most likely. Mine, I try to post only what is directly related. I'll elaborate. Like @D.Draker already wrote, we had two absolutely different errors, D.Draker could access imgur directly, but was getting a spacer.png on MSFN. 

SharePoint Online also frequently gets the same 429 error, see the relation?

Chrome browsers have auto reload function, this could be the case for triggering. There's not a word about VPN being the problem, or the cause of error 429 in this official Microsoft article.

You're indeed right! I fired up my old VPN client at home, not work, and I get unauthorized HTTP error 403 at imgur! But I also get that freaking spacer.png (not always! On random) without it, using Thorium, go figure!

I have just updated the Chrome XP API Adapter from version 1.2.0.5035 to 1.2.0.5045. Now, the page chrome://system/ works as it should and shows besides other information the RAM usage more compact than using the internal task manager. I have opened two tabs and eight extensions enabled in Thorium. The total RAM consumption is around 381 MB, also checked via Process Hacker. Here is a screenshot:



I think such a RAM consumption is appropriate for a modern Chrome browser under Windows XP and remains within reasonable limits. However, the page loading behaviour in Thorium is still far away from the one in New Moon 28 or Mypal 68 on such an old, weak computer like mine.

Try temporarily disabling UBO and installing UBO Lite and do some testing.

Never tried before uBlock Origin Lite. Always the standard version. But I will test it. However, I believe that the page loading speed is a general problem of Chrome and not of uBO, especially on old, weak hardware.
