Hi,

Are there any USB 3.0/xHCI drivers for Windows XP x64? If anyone is wondering, I need to know this because I plan to attempt to install Windows XP on the Surface Pro 1.

I am quite that a Surface Pro 1 will be UEFI only. There is experimental UEFI support for XP x64, but it's nowhere near stable.

I know that. I have thought of a few methods to get it working on the Surface Pro 1 (with either the 2008 Beta 3 boot files, or Quibble, also some SATA drivers). But my question is are there are any USB 3.0/xHCI drivers for XP x64, like there are for Windows Vista and 7?

I think @George King backported the Windows 8.0 x64 version, it'd be part of his XP2ESD project. you can ask him.

I just checked the drivers folder and found the said driver. Thank you for your help

Yes, many more ported drivers are in collection. Currently my latest attempt seems to be success and we have now Generic SD/MMC driver from Windows 8.0 beta 8056 for XP/Vista/7 according to @Andalu tests with latest kernel extender :)

Where can I find this driver?

i think it originates from this kernel extender

it allow some drivers from 7-10 to use on xp, but i do not think it can fix your sound card driver problem

dont forget that win7 is a successor to vista, win7 is just a extended vista, win7 has more functions while holding same compatibility after win8 the next windows versions gone a different direction

for xp its a different story it is successor to win2000, and the previous nt versions also server2003 originates from xp

USB3 and other ported drivers can be found in my WinXP 64-bit and WinXP 32-bit projects on MDL:

Look at tutorial.html in my signature.

P.S. I tested also Generic SD/MMC driver and works OK with SD Card.

The content of sdbus.inf file indicates that drivers should also work with eMMC disks. Unfortunately, I tried on Dell Wyse 5070 but the WinXP 64-bit does not see the eMMC disk so I have no way to check if the drivers work.

I am very curious if you can use the eMMC disk in WinXP - boot or as a data storage?
