Tried several random games, none worked on the EX-Win7, but worked with Vista-EX.

Windows 7 extended kernel simply won't load any Nvidia drivers after the summer of 2021 (Release batch R470), just like the usual Windows 7, I guess the support wasn't added either.

Panda security detects the installer KexSetup_Release_1_1_1_1375.exe as trojan.

Firefox marks te file as dangerous, as well.

It makes sense since it installs modified unofficial Microsoft dlls to your system.

It's up to you whether you trust VxKex's developer or not.

It's more the installer, which is a self-extracting archive that runs the installer once it's done that is flagged, not the VxKex files themselves.
My AV (BitDefender) never complained about the files stored in Program Files after installation is done.

It does not. It's written on the project README that VxKex does not modify any of your system files.

I don't remember the kernel made by @win32 was flagged by any AV.

Yeah I know that, it doesn't replace anything still installs them. Also it adds it's own tab to the file properties dialog

So basically everything that is a modified version of something common has a high risk of getting a false positive.

I think we can now forget about it, officially.

I would not take this all too serious, several new versions have been released since then and Chromium as well as Discord are listed in the supported/compatible applications list by now. I am hoping that the third one mentioned, Steam, will be soon as well :).
