msfntor Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 - It's true, that we can't compare our living conditions with the living conditions of a guy living in the forest in Russia... " "I call this tent my office." A Russian IT specialist has been hiding in a forest for a month to avoid mobilization while continuing to work online eight hours a day, five days a week."

France is big, can't say for all of the territories, but where I live (Vichy) it couldn't be better, esp. we now have much less risky tourists that can't be bad, you know I'm fine as well. and that's good to hear. 9 hours ago, D.Draker said: Prices went down, the climate is marvelous That's nice for you, dude. You're really having a good living there at France. Meanwhile, it's the opposite for me here. I wish I could visit France, especially Paris. Such a beautiful city. 10 hours ago, D.Draker said: Admitting you were wrong means you have a strong character ! Which is a rare quality these days . Keep on like this and you'll have a bright future ! I mean, you were actually very calm at that time really. 1

I'm also fine if people refer to me as such, but I know some people do take offense. When people do that in public, however, I'm quite suspicious when people go "Yo" or "Dude" or "Bro". Online I'm fine, but I never call others that because I guess I never picked up that lingo even though I can mean a form of bonding. Even worse, is when people call me "Sir" I'm like .... do I *really* look that old. I know its about respect but another man says "You're welcome and have a great day, man" I feel that is right. But, what do I know. 1

But, what do I know. A very nice description of when one could use the word dude and when it's appropriate, agree. P.S. Sir is a very frequent addressing, usually made by coppers and whatnot. Also makes me feel older, you're right, lol.

Hope you've got a backup of this partition for recovering if nothing helps. Try to boot into safe mode to see if it works in this mode. Use chkdsk to look for file system errors. Delete all temporary files before. Try to boot again in normal mode. If booting in normal mode is impossible, go back to a previous, working state by using recovery console. In case of recovery is not possible anymore, you should restore your previous, hopefully existing backup. I know much more possibilities to repair a damaged partition but it is too complicated to describe here, and you need appropriate knowledge to perform such interventions, of course. And truth be told, a black screen never bodes well. In most cases, I got a black screen when there was some hardware defective. Edited November 4, 2022 by AstroSkipper Update of content 1
msfntor Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Hi @D.Draker, and if we change the subject, if you allow me... I wanted to tell a dream that repeats itself to me, maybe every year. I walk along a village road, and I see a small place along this village road, where cats live in freedom, not disturbed by anyone, there is also a small pond with toads, newts ... the cats, kittens come to me, they are not afraid because they are never disturbed ... I hold one, it has a warm body, the heart beats ... this is life, they are alive, what a miracle is LIFE!

Gotta be something with the dream, all I can tell. ..so I've found this link: https://medium.com/thrive-global/little-miracles-of-everyday-life-766ab374c46a Good excerpt: "It is a miracle that the sun rises every day. It is a miracle that we rise up too, every day. It is a miracle that we can breathe. It is a miracle that the body intuitively knows what to breathe. It is a miracle that our heart is pumping without being commanded to do so. It is a miracle we can see. It is a miracle we can hear. It is a miracle we can eat and speak using the same mouth. It is a miracle that we can touch and feel and walk and lift. It is a miracle that we know what something as abstract as emotion is. Imagine a day when the sun forgets to rise or the earth stops to rotate. Imagine a day when you don’t rise up. Or a day when you cannot breathe. Or your heart stops to pump. Or your eyes stop to see. Or your ears stop to hear. Or your mouth cannot eat or your speech is lost. Or you cannot touch nor feel nor walk nor lift. Or you stop to feel any emotion what-so-ever. Well, the last may actually be good in a way because when you can’t feel any emotion, you don’t know what it feels like to not feel anything. However, if any of the other things stop to happen, and mind you, the above list is hardly a chip of the iceberg of such beautiful miracles we experience everyday, we would actually come to know what miracle exists in the existence of these naturally occurring phenomena. Recently, someone I know lost both his feet in a tragic train accident. When I visited him at the hospital I was left reeling with heaviness. The man used to take us to school when my brother and I were kids. He was a rickshaw-puller and his feet earned his wages. Later, as he aged, he became a gardener but we all know how important feet are for a gardener too. Heck, they are important for each and every one of us. They are a gift. A miracle. Isn’t it a great idea then, to remember each of these everyday miracles in our lives and thank the Almighty or the Creator for blessing us with them. It is important to acknowledge and express gratitude for all of these miracles everyday if we want our lives to be full of miracles, big and small."

Thank you @AstroSkipper! You're welcome! On my computers, I do have a perfectly working imaging system to restore important partitions in a very short time if they are damaged and not recoverable. Has saved my a** a lot of times! Just a tip! 1
