Ponch Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 A relevant question is "Who reported the bugs/security flaws until now, how and why?".If someone could exploit a flaw until it was patched (thus first detected and reported), maybe that someone could have now waited and keep that trick "for later" knowing he could then exploit it for a far longer time.

I'm pretty sure one can survive without an antivirus and still do banking from an XP system as long as the installed browser version is supported at their bank. J7n, antivirus is a must for even the newest Windows OS, especially if you do such dangerous things like on-line banking.

The number of vulnerabilities is still undisclosed. Microsoft will also release a new version of the Malicious Software Removal Tool and an undisclosed number of non-security updates."I remember the final month of W2K updates (July 2010) there were no updates for 2K at all.
