Ok

capture a new trace with this command:

xbootmgr -trace boot -traceFlags BASE+LATENCY+DISK_IO_INIT+DISPATCHER+FILE_IO+FILE_IO_INIT+FILENAME+POWER -stackwalk profile+CSwitch+ReadyThread -resultPath C:\TEMP

zip and upload the new file.

Ok, hold on. Thanks btw

Yes Autologon is being used since you told me. I even told you it shaved off 2-3 seconds.

EDIT: Secondly the delay is not so much as it is when it is being traced.

I have no idea why there is a delay. Buy a valid 8.1 license (don't use a KMS crack ;) ) and reinstall Windows and go directly to 8.1 and see if this fixes it.

This might be a noobish question, but is it any better with a valid license?

Dear all,

I recently encountered a slow booting Win2012 R2 Server and cannot find the problem.

As you can see in the ProcMon Screenshot, the server hangs for approx 10 minutes after/while loading the Regkey HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup. As this server is a VM I can see 100% CPU load for one (1) core of the VM during these 10 minutes.

I tried also opening this Regkey with regedit, but it's constantly crashing when trying to open it.

Hopefully you can give me some hints.

Best,

Oliver
