It only support GPT. On 7/4/2024 at 5:18 PM, KittyMaster said: 2nd issue: I've placed the correct x64 files from Win8 backported drivers as instructed, but USB3 still didn't work: The backported driver were update and are now signed with SHA-256. So this method does not work, unless you find the older drivers.

Antonino Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 (edited) Attaboy! Just what it takes. Why don't we customize it to the way(s) that most suit one's liking? Edited July 10, 2024 by Antonino
ibay770 Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Great work man! Thanks for this awesome tool! Is it possible to add features to convert wim/iso 2 vhd and vice versa? Also, itd be nice if we could boot the wim/iso with qemu from winntsetup as a test run. Thanks in advance
hhui Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 5.3.5-5.3.5.2, an error message "Access to wimgapi is denied" appears. I tried copying wimgapi.dll to \Tools\x64, but it still happens. How can I fix this? Currently, I can only use 5.3.4 to avoid this problem.
JFX Posted July 17, 2024 Author Posted July 17, 2024 @ibay770 WinNTSetup has reach EOL status. You could use it's command line options to automate these steps. @hhui Access denied error is very common with wimgapi or Dism, WinNTSetup already use Trusted Installer rights to overcome some of them. You could try wimlib (top right window icon --> WIM API --> wimlib) for apply instead.
hhui Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 I have selected wimlib but still getting the error. I don't know why.
JFX Posted July 19, 2024 Author Posted July 19, 2024 Than maybe something is wrong with the WIM files you have.

arss1 Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 (edited) Hello I need help. I have an old laptop fujitsu siemens amilo m14255 cd rom doesn't work need to install Windows XP I tried to boot from USB. I tried different programs - Rufus, WinSetupFromUSB. FAT16, FAT32, NTFS. Tried different settings. Etc. Well, most likely because of the old BIOS I get the error "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" Then from another computer I tried to write Windows to a hard drive using WinNTSetup. I installed Windows in virtualbox and copied it along with the bootloader. But I get the error "error loading operating system" Addition to the above, everything worked. Thank you. When I had two partitions 100 MB (asset) and the rest - it didn't work. I divided the bootloader and installation files into two partitions. But when I merged 2 partitions into 1, and installed the bootloader and installation files on one partition, it worked. Edited July 24, 2024 by arss1 Addition to the above
Antonino Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Eureka! this is a list of folders I have discovered to be necessary for wifi functionality: \Windows\AppReadiness \Windows\bcastdvr \Windows\DigitalLocker \Windows\Logs \Windows\Offline Web Pages \Windows\Panther \Windows\Panther\setuperr.log \Windows\IdentityCRL \Windows\LanguageOverlayCache \Windows\Installer \Windows\L2Schemas so, if u want to keep wifi functional, do not brute-force delete and/or zerobyte them.
Antonino Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 (edited) well, I do not know exactly what I did, but a concoction of shenanigan's version and memstechtips' standard version led me to adopt the following autounattended.xml. should anyone be interested in pruning and/or optimizing it, to the benefit of os vhd smallness and functionality after an a-priori purge, pls be my guest. as my knowledge of xml is almost inexistent, it is hard to expect any better than this from me, but I am willing to learn, still to the benefit of os smallness and functionality. autounattend.xml Edited July 28, 2024 by Antonino
