  1. Welcome to the MSFN!
  2. That page does not load properly with javascript disabled. What do I win?
  3. excuse me what warez please what do you mean"tripredacus"? That's me! PS I found it... that specific version info isn't applicable to the public. If you are an OEM and you are having questions, then you should contact your MS Partner rep for support.
  4. Please post a network topology chart including info as to the model of each device and interface speed.
  5. Well not exactly. From the horse's mouth: http://www.psacard.com/lucky7
  6. Make sure that your eventual release complies with redistribution policies.
  7. Do you have an Adaptec SCSI card in this computer?
  8. Closing this topic for now.
  9. Not sure about enabling, but I have used the full offline redist in Win7 images before without a problem.
  10. Hard disk based Recovery for Windows 7 is not in the WAIK. It was not made public until Windows 8 ADK which does not work for Windows 7. In order to have recovery for Win7 you'll need to use a software program that does it for you like Acronis.
  11. I disagree with the conclusions on that story. The entire thing reminded me of the normal users were doing to make things work on their Windows 95 and 98 computers. Did that person use a computer back in the late 90s? Did he forget about codec hell?
  12. Welcome to the MSFN!
  13. It would be unfair to create a Linux Destro without also creating a Linux Cobra Commander.
  14. I never heard of that! Well its too late, I've already decided to build a Win95 PC for my voodoo card. Sounds neat tho.
  15. I just saw something about that today. Someone on Technet created a topic about how to stop it from showing ads.
  16. A movement has already been started by those who are opting out of the new-age of software and IoT thingies. Soon we will all return to writing each other letters again if this keeps up. BUT that is not a setting I have used before I don't think. There was some new thing on my Firefox at work when I opened it this week. Something about asking for your name and phone number! but also something that shows a symbol up in the "secure color" part of the URL that pertained to enabling tracking for every site even if you aren't on there. Perhaps that is related to the removal of the setting. I would probably prefer not to update Firefox, but gone are the days when it would prompt you for update. Now it does it on its own apparently.
  17. Stock Vista WinPE2.0 x64 typically requires some amount less than 1GB RAM on the client not sure if it is more/less than 768MB. My standard practice is: WinPE2.0 x64 1GB RAM or higher WinPE2.0 x86 512MB RAM or higher Using newer PEs should only be as-needed or when clients have more than 1GB RAM.
  18. This is not correct. The only time we can read a user's PM is if someone reports it.
  19. From what I've seen, mislabelled RAM had discrepencies in timing more so than memory size. Can you post the part number on the RAM stick too?
  20. In all cases since this became "a thing" the spam responders have different IPs than the OP. So this isn't a case of 2 people in an office making posts to each other. The IP doesn't get blacklisted but it could. That is something the spam service handles. It also handles how it decides to permit users to register on the forum. I'm sure its a complicated process. Anyways, i would wholly expect that spammers are using TOR to do their dirty work. And they don't seem to actually be bots that do this. They go about and fill out profile information somewhat randomly, with exception to that "flap" of Vista Business types we had awhile back. Anyways, I'm going to move this topic into Site & Forum issues.
  21. It is a hard question to search for. My only guess would be to install N and see if it lets you change product key to the KN one.
  22. Welcome to the MSFN!
  23. It seems to me that this computer may have had a virus infection in the past. It may explain why some of the expected behaviours of Windows are not working.
  24. In my experience, what is written on RAM labels can be wrong. Better to check the SPD info using CPU-Z or a similar tool. This topic title reminded me of something I noticed during the upgrade history of my home computer. There was a noticeable slowdown in going from an 850 board with 768MB RDRAM to a 865 board with 3GB DDR. I didn't stick with the 865 for too long and ended up using the 850 in another computer.
