  1. You really seem to be complicating the process youre trying to perform? You can run WPI without all the fuss post Vista UA. Have you thoroughly read the WPI thread on this board?
  2. You posted in the wrong area this is for Vista. Also please edit/remove your product key.
  3. Thanks kel will do some testing with this one today.
  4. Thats interesting haven't ventured into USB sticks for UA installs, shortly it'll have to be one of those or a network install I'm afraid. The disk size is growing & growing.
  5. Hi Guys Since Vista was released the size of it's source is generally around two gig, since sp1 & updates, dreamscene, wallpapers, some drivers etc mine has grown to 3 gig. What size source do you guys finish up with? I know you can VLite etc but what is the norm?
  6. Just a simple Q. can we update/overwrite an existing source with drivers already integrated, overwriting with the latest driver packs without the need to rebuild the source?
  7. Let us know how you go installing on SP3 NG for me I'm afraid.
  8. Windows PE boot disk, you can get it free when downloading the waik tools. Easy to build your own PE & burn to disk.
  9. What OS are you installing it on? I do recomend the latest waik. Due to a couple of XPSP3 woes I wound back to SP2 & reinstalled latest waik & no problems.
  10. Thanks for the update fellas, till now this was not happening for me? dunno what happened previous but is all good now, Thanks again Jan, Muiz, Spoof & fredpsycho83
  11. Yes would be mandatory for a successful UA from disc install. But you can use any compliant xml answer file in Vista.
  12. But you have an oem version shipped with your Dell PC I take it? Deleting those files will render you to manually activate each & every time you reinstall windows?
  13. T o answer Q1. there should be an image file called oemlogo.bmp or similar, Dell.bmp just delete that one. rather than deleting all the other oem files. As far as Q2. have a search/read through the UA section it has been done.
  14. @toastycheese678 Nice inclusion, however followed your guide mounted the wim, loaded the then merged this key But when I drill down through the new The Genuine Advantage folder does not exist under? Where may I be going wrong?
  15. No need to double post the same Q. Be patient & wait for a response bumping your post will only p*** people off round here. If there is a solution in time someone may reply to your request.
  16. @bensam56 Very messy posting...Please use the edit button next time instead of bumping the thread. Your posts will get read.
  17. These Vista UA installs can be very much like that at times.
  18. Appears you may be right.
  19. You need to give more info here, for instance were the drivers you had integrated properly signed drivers? When you say you removed components from your source, what were they?
  20. Does anyone have issues installing the waik on xp sp3? Not working here for me for some reason?
  21. I think its a very much take or leave it OS no real great gains for me with this soft.
  22. Dunno but you seem to have many unnecessary or blank fields in your xml? Did you use the waik/wsim tools to produce this? If so is it the latest version? Did you use the help function truly is a great guide in populating the fields? My advice is to start off with the basics & once mastered then include more...just my opinion.
