Making UA Copy Files To My Documents
prathapml replied to Marthax's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
The variable will point to "Default User" profile only at T-12 and T-13......(at T-9, it won't even exist) -

The personal info microsoft collects and hides
prathapml replied to smercer's topic in Networks and the Internet
Yes.Scare-mongers never seem to get tired. There's no reason for microsoft to spy on you. In fact, they have better things to do than waste resources on such things -
Both of those is already there in the attachment on first page....

Maybe coz this is an old topic

You _can_ remove it, but that _might_ cause a problem some day in the future. Which is why now it is recommended to have your driver-pack folder inside the Windows folder itself (so that users do not see the DP folder). I believe the newer versions of the DPs do it this way, but I haven't tried them so dunno....

way to go MS (hotmail via outlook LIVE) wow hmm
prathapml replied to XtremeMaC's topic in General Discussion
Exactly! Hotmail makes its 250 MB look like great shakes, soooo idiotic. What Gmail gives for free, is supposedly "premium" ! Any guesses on how many ppl are moving away from hotmail every minute? I for one, won't bet against a prediction that if hotmail stays the way it is, then Gmail is going to race it to the top. Why? that account might be filled-up long ago, and mails bouncing from it with "too full" messages..... wow not paying that to get pop access nope never. u can get pop access + 2gb storage with yahoo... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I like how "loyalty = pay me" with Microsoft. And I'm surprised actually...... many ppl still report that they can access hotmail (free account) from Outlook Express. Either they did this long ago, or they're just lying about something of the past. AFAIK, its not possible unless you pay up now. But 2gb on yahoo? Please re-confirm.... mine says - "250.0MB" And yahoo does not allow POP either. -
No one else to rival this?

That's great skitzy! Which is the one you are with?

Do you understand yourself, what you are saying? How can you connect thru IMAP when there's NO CONNECTION to facilitate that, in the first place? Hello Jay, Mandrake is a great distro, stay the course. Its good to start with, provided it works (it has a weird problem with the boot-loader on many systems that I installed it on, and I don't like that unpredictable nature of it) - but if its working good for you, then fine..... As for AOL, please find out what protocol it uses to connect. From what you describe, it looks like its "PPPoE", but just to be sure... I have DSL over ethernet (pppoe), and need to connect/authenticate over here - so looks like a similar connection. If that's the case, then no problem at all, its very simple, but I don't remember the needed app's name right now since I haven't used Mandrake in a long while. You need a specific package (mdk rpm) from CD2. You've already got it if you chose to do an "all packages" install (of all 4 CDs - this would have been a huge time-consumer with 5 GB and more). Please just check these two and post back: 1. What kind of a connection is it (I mean protocol used) 2. Is it a normal install or "all packages"

Good idea I just hope it won't damage the drive's internal electronics?

can i and how can i create my own forum here?
prathapml replied to murphy's topic in Site & Forum Issues
SMF is wonderfully easy to install new skins or mods.... Maybe just some reading over the initial readme is required..... Also, please remove or resize the image in your signature - its just too big since forum rules allow only 300x300. -
But you ain't a polar bear

Well, that board has at the bottom of its page clearly mentioned - UBB.Threads.So if you need a free board, then forget both Invision as well as UBB - both are pay, and cost a whole lot, which is worth paying only when there is already a massive community visiting the board. If you are interested in just getting the board software anyway, then warez downloads is the oyster..... But then, its not going to be long before you are caught and asked to pay-up, since this is online and anyone can see your board. So what's the other option then? 1. phpBB (this one sucks, but has a huge modding/skinning community) 2. MyBB (not yet mature, but it has a good feature set, and user-base growing greatly) 3. SMF (this one's perfect - is good and has a large community for skinning/modding too. FYI, this one's the successor of YaBB-SE) We would be pleased to hear again from you. If you have any more queries, do not hesitate to post them! Hmm.... so what have you chosen? -
I hope you do know that just running Apache off a win2k/XP machine would give better results....

XP Professional x64 Edition SP1 1830
prathapml replied to RYU81's topic in Windows XP 64 Bit Edition
Okay, let me make it clearer: There is NO SP2 for XP 64-bit, because the initial release itself has that SP2 integrated (steamed/cooked/whatever ). You CAN slip-stream updates into the 64-bit XP, but there is NOTHING to be merged - its already all done and ready. Just install and use it happily. Unattending x64 has got to be quite similar to 32-bit. Can't say for sure until we go full-fledged into this. And yes, you CAN burn the x64 disc on a 32-bit system. -
Scram and get the update The best part about this plugin for Messenger Plus, is that once you have this enabled, you can see when someone is closing a chat window. (therefore finding out if that person is interested to continue messaging or not)

It has been 7 years since Win98 was released
prathapml replied to un4given1's topic in Windows 9x/ME
haha great way to put it! Noop, it does not use such a thing - that kind of a thing is found on Itanium with EM64 instruction sets. This is why AMD64 is better since its easier and maintains most older standards. Relax, XP has nothing to do with any of this.It will still work just as your 98 does. And even all of my drives are MUCH larger. Those limitations mentioned above, are technically so, but not actually - since making larger clusters will easily get past the limitation, which is what you have currently (and me too). But still, unless I have a compelling reason to use FAT32, I don't use it. Since NTFS is more secure, faster, better recoverability if your drive fails, and so on.....
