  1. Run PatchExec.exe with "/QB" switch, I think. See if there's an MSP file within one of those files - if so, its possible to merge the SP into the main installer.
  2. Read this topic and the zillion others about the same subject please. And the Gmail team sends you a starter mail at first which describes itself in brief. Then, there's their help, and so on...... ALWAYS SEARCH BEFORE ASKING ABOUT ANYTHING.
  3. There are WIM extractors available, try searching google. It stands for "WIndows IMage". It seems like something parallel to ISO images. Either that, or capture the files in the intermediate time between file-copy and setup. There's a topic somewhere here regarding how to modify existing files in it.
  4. Then that means you can't change "Support Information" text from that button. Try editing the sysdm.cpl resources.
  5. You both have been sent invites to the e-mail addy you gave, check your mail. - Astalavista - kyuuzo
  6. First, run the setup with "/A" switch in normal running windows to make an administrative install point. Then you can run the resulting MSI with the below switch (modify it to suit RunOnceEx): VMware.msi /QB TARGETDIR="%systemdrive%\Program Files\VMware" ADDLOCAL=ALL DISABLE_AUTORUN=1 DESKTOP_SHORTCUT=1 SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxx
  7. Some OEM winxp CDs have that problem - the setup loved the CD-label too much. And then, many retail CDs of Office 2003 have installers that are closely linked to the CD label.
  8. There's no reason why WIHU shouldn't work in/for SP2 of winxp. I do know it works fine of WinXP SP2, US English version. Well, this topic seems to be redundant since the original poster has himself resolved it - but this post is here just to remind any others who feel that they get specifically WXPSP2-WIHU related problems that there's nothing special SP2 is doing as far as WIHU is concerned.
  9. May be possible, I know that I haven't tried using nLite+any dp. Be my guest, and test out your idea - tell us how it goes.
  10. @mazin would be nice if you could share that batch on the forum. And your suggested changes on first-page have been made, thank you. @everybody Any more contributions/suggestions here? Since its a fact that many people consider SAV to be better than NAV, this topic's first page will be updated to reflect the new things we have learnt from each other here. I'll make it a consolidated guide, maybe. If anybody is willing to set out in detail, step-by-step about what to do in simple language, I'll link that post to the first-post. Credits will be clearly acknowledged.
  11. @passiw Since there is such a glut of invites to be handed out, there's an invite willing to sprint to your e-mail box as well. Check your PMs and reply back to that PM with your e-mail address so you can be sent a gmail invite.
  12. @mutahir You'd better make another gmail account using the other invite (for your friend/family/anybody). It will both work. In any case, after having sent an invite, we can't send the same invite to somebody else. So you SHOULD enjoy your luck. @Deezire No, both invites being sent to same address doesn't matter.
  13. Its not very considerate to quote ENTIRE LARGE POSTS just to add a one-line reply at the end. You should only quote the part that you're responding to, and in cases like the above, just a post saying "Cee-kay's method on the first page works perfectly for me" would be sufficient. Hoping that members will be considerate enough to keep that in mind for the next time.
  14. Yeah, me too - I was on the winamp forums for close to half-an-hour trying to dig-out what was so happily said here. Dude, have some pity on the harried people who have to always keep up with the latest (never mind if it is alpha/beta ). It isn't april either now (for april-fool spins) - but had a nice laugh just now, LOL. So, anyways what's the final word - winamp 6 is a joke? (I hope so). And is alanoll moving to v5.05 for the next release of winamp MSI ?
  15. @mutahir Check your email - invited Dude, you got lucky - 2 invites in a day, that's cool - you are liked a lot here, eh? You might like to edit out your email address (posted above) now - leaves you open to spam if you don't.
  16. You can customize it to install only the components you want - see this thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=70&t=14614 That's where this codec pack is discussed (by a bit) - and all details there. A small search would have shown this.
  17. some retail/OEM MS products do have a problem if you change the CD label - nLite won't work for those disks anyway.
  18. Nope, its wording is fine - I was referring to how nice and funny it is, I liked those words. I said the concept looks good, that's all. You still haven't said if the CMD is all I'm supposed to get from there......
  19. Then run the installer in compatibility mode - simple.
  20. Yes, try safe mode first, then try using a DOS boot-disk. Also, you could try a bartPE bootable disc, which gives a nice GUI. You haven't stated what OS you're trying to recover.
  21. This looks to be a nice tool, will check it out when I get home.... EDIT: there's only a CMD there - is that what I'm supposed to download? BTW jaclaz, your license is absolutely ROTFLOL, I couldn't help smiling when I saw it:
  22. This is because the needed files did not get copied to the hard-disk. Maybe the cause is that when you install from CD, the $OEM$ folder should be placed parallel to the I386 folder - keep it OUTSIDE the I386 folder. In other words, the i386 and $OEM$ folders should be side by side: CD-root |-- $OEM$ |-- I386
  23. The MSI will only be associated with the directory in which it is placed AFAIK. So the MSI on your local drive would "point" to the OXP local source, I suppose - not onto the network drive. Run it from local drive itself.
  24. Right click on the executable, or on its shortcut and get the file properties. You will see a "Compatibility" tab. There, use the "Run in compatibility mode for" drop-down box to run it in compatibility with the OS of your choice.
  25. The real and quicktime alternatives use "/VERYSILENT /SP-" I think. As for the sun java installer - have you read the official MSFN guide - if you did then maybe you did not read it carefully - the details were there: Sun Java install The guide mentions the switches for kerio as well. And Azureus uses the "/S" or "/s" switch, I think (note the capitalization). Getright switches are mentioned in the forums - please search.
