Well, you would already be knowing that MS (apparently) got a theme leaked out in the MediaCenterEdition 2005 RC. It has for some reason, been named "Royale" - and has been around since June (I think). It is signed and doesn't require a hacked uxtheme.dll to use it. Each site that has "Royale" for download has a different size of the files - makes me suspicious that they haven't revealed what modifications were made. But the original can be found here - http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/9/3/9-3-42.shtml. Now, the question is, I remember having seen a screenshot of Royale with a particular wallpaper. Where can I get the original of the wallpaper shown in the screenshot here?. You do find lots of mods of that wallpap - but the original is nowhere to be found now. Is there an original wallpaper bundled with "Royale" in MCE2005 at all?

OK, that does help, thank you! Also, has it arrived for you yet? I ordered it a week ago, and I have no idea what time-frame to expect it to be delivered - the email (as above) has no info regarding the waiting time.
-
@crahak no problem - I understood what you mean, and yes it'd be nice to have it as suggested. As for hosting for screenshots (and more), do you need more than 40 MB? If 40 MB of free hosting is enough, go here http://members.freewebs.com/ and sign up. And then post links to the screen-shot here.

@crahak That's nice then - we'll just have to wait and see if that suggestion is found to be good enough......

about the IPB forum software
prathapml replied to prathapml's topic in Web Development (HTML, Java, PHP, ASP, XML, etc.)
Well, pardon me - but I'm not nearly as clear about what you say! You mean to say that the "300 posts-only" printing problem is not actually so, and can be fixed? If so, I'm happy. If not, nothing's changed. -
Entire 13-metre bridge stolen in southern Bosnia
prathapml replied to utln's topic in General Discussion
Oh mi gosh. Did those who steal it, consider the value of stealing it as compared to having it there and benefiting the population? Not very thoughtful of them.... -
Well, right now it doesn't look like too many people need gmail! :S Do post here if you want gmail invites (and don't already have a gmail account).
-
none of the popular servers would have upgraded to php5. there is not enough support out yet. it will be atleast 6 months... so its php4. Right - we're quite happy with the current version. But it sure would be nice. Anyway, let's see what happens when the time comes....

Autoconnect Dsl when windows xp starts
prathapml replied to principal skinn's topic in Networks and the Internet
There's two ideas here: 1. Either use my previous detailed steps and modify it so that reget starts up by using task scheduler instead. 2. Junk the previous instructions, use Jscript (yes, the WSH on windows can directly execute .JS) to run/click things the way you want. -
OK good, so what's the solution?
-
Well, by the time the newbies chance upon those links - its gonna be taken up. Hey buddies - do use those gmail registration links responsibly - DO NOT CLICK THAT LINK IF YOU ALREADY HAVE GMAIL.
-
Let's give it back to the community - gmail ought to have already been public, keeping it exclusive is not very good. ANOTHER: ---link removed--- Please click on this link only if you don't already have gmail, and whoever has got the account registered from the following invites, do come back and post to say so.
-
Now........ Let's crank up the excitement by a li'l bit: Please click on this link only if you don't already have gmail, and whoever has got the account registered from the following invites, do come back and say so. Whoever registers - You can change the first/last name, and the secondary email address. GOOGLE INVITE: ---removed---
-
I thank crispy and gamehead for their generosity - since I first got a gmail invite from them (now don't go pestering them for invites - the distribution of invites here is mine/gamehead's initiative). Hey you others on msfn - those who've got an invite going waste could post it here - will earn you some gratitude. There are some sites where the privileged few who have gmail invites to spare will swap an invite for something in return from you. But I just want the max. number of people to benefit. The only requirement is that that you should be online and watching this thread when I post the link to an invite - otherwise you would lose it to someone else.

LOL, the way things are progressing, I'd ask are you sure this news is not stale? XPSP3 doesn't look like it will get released that early (as the pic shows). And longhorn (despite claims that it will be released in 2006) looks to be delayed until 2007 or 2008 at least. And then, there's maybe going to be a period of time passing before longhorn matures into a stable OS. Remember Win95 (which was equally revolutionary) took 6 years to evolve into Windows 2000 (a mature version of itself). I doubt it - old habits die hard.

Exactly! And a computer that has more storage space than the iPod, as well.
-
Ok, these are the people who've been sent invites, check your mail-boxes please.... crahak nolookingca arablizzard2413 If you've received the invite, and registered it, please come back to this thread, and say so, and edit your post to remove the email address. DO NOT POST YOUR CURRENT E-MAIL ADDRESS HERE. That will leave you open to spamming. You just need to click on the invite link provided for registration (in IE/firefox).

@CypherBit You've given a cool idea - to replace the existing file with a 0 byte dummy! Why didn't I think of it before? Well, as for the command-line extraction of 7-zip archives, do this: 1. Download and install 7-zip. 2. copy away the command-line EXE from the installed folder into "$OEM$\$$\system32". 3. then run that exe from the batch-file to extract your 7zip'ed archive (not SFX), for example: start /wait 7z.exe -y /q /r:n -o<your_path> %systemdrive%\install\file.7z Do post back on how it goes.

Autoconnect Dsl when windows xp starts
prathapml replied to principal skinn's topic in Networks and the Internet
I do this: 1. Download and install reget deluxe 4. 2. Put a shortcut to it in the "Startup" folder. 3. Then, in reget there's a tab for "Sceduling tasks" 4. Set it to "dial-in" to your connection, and define the rule of when it should - you can set it to dial-in upon loading reget. 5. Your problem solved (or is it?). -
unpacking 7zip with out black box
prathapml replied to CrashUK's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
This is from my batchfiles, customize the paths to your liking: start /wait GUIsetup\apps\MSO2k3.exe -y /q /r:n -o%SYSTEMDRIVE%\install\Applications The "-o" switch specifies path to extract, and the path should be enclosed in inverted commas if it has a space in it. -
Does IPB 2.0 (going to be released) eliminate the "no-printing beyond 300 posts" limit? Try printing the registry tweaks thread to know what I mean - the resulting html comes to only 300 posts, half of it being un-printed. Also, it seems that having ad-sense embedded in pages improves google visits. If the adsense shows generic ads, it means the google spider has not visited/read the forum enough.

If that was your only complaint, then it is fixed because LiveUpdate 2.5 came out, install it to get it running as normal. http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/files/lu/lu.htmlAlso, there's a WMI patch by Symantec to enable the Windows Security Center to "see" NAV's status (any version). I'll send it to anyone willing to host it for others.

Yes there is another way too. Just use the graphical mode extractor - make it an SFX archive when you compress. -
Hi crazeyguy, and welcome to the MSFN forums. We all did initally register when we wanted to learn something - so its all good! You can be sure that there will be no shortage of people willing to help you. Can I suggest that you take a look at the documentation available in MS's own technet (regarding this subject) as well, since they have lots of things mentioned in great detail which may not be possible here. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/default.mspx
