  1. Yeah, possible. That might have been OEM versions they were offering (though you can't sell OEM copies outside OEM channels, so its illegal). Well, probably you saw this link from the Google Ad-Sense bar at the top of the forum pages. There's nothing that MSFN can do about it - its google's syndication. Keep visiting back, different pages on the forum, and you might see the Ad again.
  2. Wraith..... man.... Is this a question to ask at all? XPlode is firmly entrenched in my scheme of unattended things. Maybe the reason you ask is that not many new converts are happening. Well, it so happens that there's a time of excitement around something, and those of us who were around at that time are influenced by it - the new-comers might just find XPlode too hard (but believe me, nothing is easier than using XPlode for your unattended).
  3. Hi mersey. Welcome to MSFN forums. hehe.... if you stick around here, you won't be a newbie for long!
  4. @SiMoNsAyS Good job. Nice to have the "missing due to employer" info right here. We can now discuss how to break-down win98se as well, to smaller sizes! (not in this thread, of course)
  5. Yes. That's one good thing. But that isn't going to force anything. You see the updated Autorun in the CD once you slip-stream? (Perform Additional Tasks >> Install .NET Framework) That option which was not doing anything even if you click it becomes activated, that's all. Otherwise, to install it automatically during unattended, you need to do the normal things (using switches, calling the setup from a batch-file or something, etc.). Sad but yeah, its not as easy as we'd like it to be - but its quite simple. 1. Slip-stream SP1 onto .NET 1.1. 2. Put this folder on your CD. 3. Call it according to your path-on-CD with "/QB" switch to silently install. 4. Enjoy!
  6. Ha ha... Was a knock-out the first time I saw that page! Saw it some months ago... still, its nice to stumble past it again. The guy has an interview up now (which wasn't before).
  7. @SiMoNsAyS ya got another person waiting on this 5.35 MB thing... And 1:00 GMT is getting nearer, lol.
  8. But it won't be called DVD. 'Coz the standard for DVD is defined already.... Anyways, what happenened to the Blu-ray Disc and the FMD (Fluorescent Multi-layer Disc) which were so hyped up in their time, that they'd be the next big thing... Nah... these break-throughs die natural deaths, unless they get commercial backing.
  9. True.... There are more things that they need to take care of, so signatures might _sometimes_ get past. But then, there is an option in UserCP to turn off having to view sigs. And its sometimes better - coz the sigs are only adding to the size of the page, and in most cases (no, don't flame me... there are exceptions) aren't "helpful" to the purpose of why you are browsing the forum. LOL, XPerties don't tell me you have sig viewing enabled (nor do I, for that matter - I enable it once a week to check on sigs though). So yeah crahak, bring sigs that annoy you to the attention of staff, and then it will be taken care of.
  10. @Cee-Kay Reply back to my PM with your e-mail addy (to get an invite at that address) EDIT: CeeKay has been sent an invite.
  11. Yup, we all want to make it as small as possible. Remember, you delete things at the cost of losing what you can do if you had NOT deleted it. But if all you are going to do with your unattended CD is to boot-up from it and install, then you can delete a lot of things. Just remember, to keep another CD with ALL files (that is, not unattended and no files deleted) - that way you can use this other CD for whatever your unattended CD can't do. Now, this is the page of the guide which tells you how you can cut-down size - http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/space_saving_tips.htm. Do tell us at the end, as to how your CD works - and if you have any more questions.
  12. Please see the rules.... *sigh* *Topic title "has anyone seen this" changed
  13. nah.... it takes a lot more to scare us, LOL. Welcome to MSFN forums nate, and we look forward to having you participate around here. Yup! you'll indeed learn a lot of things, and probably also teach us some.
  14. Oh... that's a new set of tweaks hover head! Thanks for them. But since its so difficult to sort thru them.. could you re-post a file which has only new tweaks, or the ones that need modification. So that they can be added. ANNOUNCEMENT: Spent many, many hours with this. Many new tweaks, updates/modifications to existing ones. Re-download from attachment to first post to get 'em. UPDATED FIRST POST WITH TIME OF LAST UPDATE.
  15. Found SP2 to be better in every which way. I slip-streamed SP2 within a week of release. The drivers used are the same.... maybe specific hardware has issues, but on the whole, they are same. Very few people are still on SP1 (and those are the vociferous minority who say SP2 is not good, the silent majority has moved to SP2).
  16. No, its not.Do you install any patch/update for OE? If so, the OEaccess=off becomes useless. Installing any updates/hot-fixes/patches that target IE/OE will re-activate the IE/OE shortcuts.
  17. See this thread for details of where to download it, and how to make a silent install of it (for win2k/XP) - dX 9c unattended. Enjoy!
  18. Raverod, you referring to booble right?
  19. Are you having any of these applied? If so, DOS apps won't run as they should: ;Speed up NTFS - these NTFS tweaks improve file system performance [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem] "Win31FileSystem"=dword:00000000 "Win95TruncatedExtensions"=dword:00000001 "NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate"=dword:00000001 "NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation"=dword:00000001
  20. Yes orno. You can delete that folder if you are using english.
  21. Thauzar, cool down please. Getting flustered won't help anyone. (nor replies saying "I was NOT flustered", lol). As for the guide, see the first post of this thread - its right there, thanks to mazin.
  22. Sorry to say this... but.... the guide, THE GUIDE, THE GUIDE...... It was right there. http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/timeline.htm
  23. LOL..... sorry to repeat this.... Searching gave me THIS WONDERFUL THREAD - complete step-by-step.
  24. *bangs own head on wall That there IS a solution, is what Alanoll and MCT were telling above!
  25. If you want to do this manually: IExplore >> File >> Import and Export >> (follow prompts for cookies) To do it unattended: Copy away the "%UserProfile%\Cookies" folder. And restore it silently using batch-files during unattended setup.
