  1. When is this? When setup shows "35 minutes remaining" or something near to that, in the left pane? That's normal. It flashes when its detecting your monitor, I suppose.
  2. Maybe in this way... My Computer >> Tools >> Folder Options >> File Types Fourth entry or so, over there will be "Folder" - change the "Open With" or click "Advanced" and then set the default action.
  3. yes, quite a long time ago. Got it 2 weeks ago itself, I suppose.
  4. This is what you are looking for? ;Remove these programs from Run [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] "NeroCheck"=- "NeroFilterCheck"=-You can use the same technique for other things that you want to remove from "Run" as well.
  5. Its just a few registry keys involved. Will post that once I get home (if no one else has yet). Enjoy Maxthon!
  6. No floppy? Well, if you could tell us which motherboard this is, or find the name of the SATA controller, we'd be able to try and point you to where you can find it.
  7. Thread moved since its not related to unattended windows.
  8. The below steps will let you do so:1. Start >> Run 2. type "msconfig" 3. Click the "BOOT.INI" tab 4. Enable (by ticking box) - "/SAFEBOOT" 5. Do whatever other configuring of boot-up you want there. 6. That's all. reboot. 7. When you want to get back to normal, reverse the action above. Hoping this helps.... The other thing about scandisk - try searching this forum, its there somewhere. Doing that scandisk thing is not difficult either. *And yes, thread moved to right section.
  9. If that site crashes other browsers too, then normally I'd just stop visiting that site. If you're concerned about the site, send the webmaster a mail telling him of it. And if its your site, then try to simplify the coding used on the page. And does the page load fine with IE6 SP1? (on other OSes) BTW, 2 possible reasons why that page won't load - bad JVM, or insufficient memory. I have US English IE6 SP2, and Opera 7.60p1 here - and "www.record.pt/index.asp" loads perfectly fine on both of these browsers. No crashes! *Topic moved, since this is un-related to purpose of "unattended windows" forum.
  10. Please clarify what you mean. Auto-logon refers to automatically logging in ONE user at every boot-up. Three users? As for having a set of files being put in the required user's accounts, you can use "$OEM$\$Docs\Default User\My Documents". Or, use batch-files to copy to specific user's directories - "%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\User_Name\anyfolder name". And why'd you WANT the My Photos/My Music/My Movies folders? they're just cluttering up that folder. You can use regsvr32 /s /u mydocs.dllto get rid of that junk re-creating itself all the time.
  11. This question was already asked in SAV9 thread, and Thauzar has posted a reply to that - SAV9 thread And what does this topic have to do with unattended windows... *thread moved
  12. @Thauzar Ya, ok... we got the message, huh? lol. You ARE cheerful. @a06lp I was just about to link to the same posts, that thauzar did above. Beat me by a few minutes, lol. Shows what happens when you don't refresh a page for a long time.
  13. Yes, quite possible. You need to use the SATA drivers floppy that came with your motherboard. Press F6 when it asks for the SATA/RAID drivers in the "loading" status bar. There are other ways to integrate support for your SATA into CD itself (nLite, MassStorageDrivers Pack) - but those are a bit more complex.
  14. Office97 can run straight off the CD - install it, and copy the installed folder to CD. Good for those times when you need it, but don't want to bother wasting time on installing it. But its not freeware - so keep that in mind! *please post in correct section - thread moved.
  15. Oh, that's good. So finally we know the silent switch for maxthon!
  16. Well, if this is for Windows XP, I prefer this method instead: oobeinfo.ini method That method, will get your users created in EXACTLY the same way the first-run "Welcome to Windows XP" wizard creates - just before first-login. Least difficult, and no worries. And then after first-login, you can run commands to set user groups and passwords (through batch-files from RunOnce). That (oobeinfo.ini) is the recommended method by MS too, and OEMs use that.
  17. Just removing the line that deals with key is enough. No need to change from FullUnattend to DefaultHide - because that will cause OTHER changes in your unattended setup. What's the difference? Having it as DefaultHide will ask for the missing key, when it gets to needing the key, in the normal way. Having it as FullUnattended will put up a dialog-box - "some required info was missing, blah-blah" - when it gets to the point where it needs your key, and then ask for a key in the normal way. That dialog-box is no big-deal as far as I'm concerned, since moving method to "DefaultHide" WILL create other differences - stick with FullUnattended. Of course, its your choice though, this is only a recommendation.
  18. Un-installing will be the cleaner option. But if your windows is still not working properly even after the un-install, you can restore the restore-snapshot taken previously. That will not do anything with regard to the disk-space occupied, it will simply get your system-folders to the way it was before, that's all.
  19. Copy away and save this file: %ProgramFiles%\mIRC\mirc.ini Keep that file on your CD somewhere, and restore it to the right folder after mIRC install, using batch-files or something. Or, even better: 1. Install mIRC 6.16 2. Configure it to how you want. 3. Copy away "%ProgramFiles%\mIRC" to somewhere. 4. Put that folder now on your CD "$OEM$\$Progs\mIRC" 5. And the shortcut to it - "$OEM$\$Docs\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\mIRC.lnk" That's it.
  20. Indeed! This is a very good idea! Play while your windows installs! One of those card games like solitaire - or K-Chess or something.
  21. Try comparing what you've entered with these values, the below will work perfectly: [Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated="0" floppyless="1" EulaComplete="1" UnattendedInstall="Yes" AutomaticUpdates=0 [Unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended Repartition=No FileSystem="ConvertNTFS" OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=Yes TargetPath=\WINDOWS UnattendSwitch=Yes [GuiUnattended] OemSkipWelcome=1 [UserData] FullName="0wner" OrgName="0wn Inc." ComputerName=COMPUTEROnly relevant parts of winnt.sif posted - use all the other values you want. Also, check if your winnt.sif is placed in the proper BOOT folder (example: \PRO1\ folder). If you place the winnt.sif in the I386 folder (example: \SETUP\PRO1\I386\) - it may not work.
  22. cool! Looks just the place to ask this as well. Re-posted question: Anyone knows?
  23. Games and WS2k3 never gelled together well. They were okay for other things, but they do have certain points of focus..... WinXP+SP2 is the best platoform for this currently. Well, if you do want to run this - try VMware and install XP within it. But then, the emulated hardware may not be enough!
  24. Hi XVampireX, Welcome to MSFN forums. linguist? Then this place is gotta be interesting.... we got lot of people speaking lots of languages here!
  25. Yet another of this... Merging all 3 of these threads to one. @dosar Is there any link to download it, at the place where you saw this screenshot?
