    .NET 2.0 Lite

    Vista already has 2.0 in it. Since it is not removable yet that means you want framework lite just for that one time when you want to configure Vista from XP or 2k3.
  2. If it is that stable prediction I'll add it and we'll see. I just hope that size calculation does not take too long because of so many files, it usually does and I'm not willing to wait even 10 seconds extra for this cosmetic upgrade. Just so you understand if I don't do it, thx anyway.
  3. While it seems like a good idea and the same was debated for component removal page, what is the advantage of those presets? Faster? It is intended only for those which don't care what the program does, can you imagine yourself going "oo Performance, click, install...my god why is it classic look, I integrated themes!" Or if you double check every option it does then it's slower than the usual selection. I cannot imagine someone choosing one preset on the blind faith and just be done with it. That means he is not careful which settings are applied and he will be annoyed after install. We get reports "where are my EXE icons, it's just blank white one?!" That's because he didn't read the description for the "Disable custom exe icons", imagine how many annoyances would be if doesn't read the description of every single tweak in these presets.
  4. mitsukai, how about what's the point of having them We are here discussing about the CD boot time, you know when it says loading this and that driver, it is slow. Also post install some drivers like floppy, printer and modem support do load always and you might not been using them, like I don't use any of those 3 for years now. Why load them... (miniport drivers and what not) It comes down to personal preferences for such a small improvements. I enjoy clean OS, be it for the file count alone or the unneeded processing.
  5. Point is there isn't anything to load once removed. All non-standard drivers are already removed, please stop listing those basic floppies, which are removable. Are you implying that 50 extra drivers are hidden somehow, no files to see but they are there? And if by any change you're aiming at "I know it's removable but configuring each would be nice", I already said I'm not interested. Only interesting thing is the fact that cleaning those rogue entries could speed it up somehow because it won't even try to load missing drivers, but I wouldn't hold my breath since when it detects that sys file is missing it just skips it.
  6. Since I know that this is your normal tone I won't get into the argument. Remove all components with nLite then find at least 5 leftover SCSI drivers and I'll gladly remove them. Those which you listed in the last message are what I call standard drivers, basic floppy, disc and cdrom, no manufacturer drivers listed. And I believe that ramdisk is already on the list. Floppy too. Only cdrom and disk are not, no point in removing those. Sounds to me like you haven't actually tried nLite.
  7. Why do you think there is a misunderstanding? Try to remove SCSI with nLite and you'll see. Btw by SCSI it's actually RAID as well, component name is SCSI/RAID. MS labels the classes SCSI for all. And PCMCIA drivers are taken care of by the component PCMCIA. So there is not much left, just basic drivers.
  8. 99% of them are already removed by the Driver - SCSI component. Since they are all too old people can remove it and simply integrate their own driver. However CDROM ATAPI and such basic driver are not yet removable. I might consider that but separating old SCSI/RAID drivers no.
  9. One issue is blocking me all the time, it is the Firewall removal once SP1 is integrated. Not this monday but the other one, so it's 10-11 days.
  10. Weird that you mention that. Other user reported the same with the new Settlers. And I tried it at my friends place who uses vLite and it runs fine. So it's something else. Try keeping Game Explorer and MS HTML Engine.

    ghost task?

    I had that with Firefox before, but eventually they fixed it, or the solution was that I don't use nightlies any more I'm using FDM Lite and it works fine, so is every other program and I remove all except IE and Aero.

    nLite 1.4(.1) - - ->

    NaDer_GenKO, no and I don't have plans to do it. IE7 was problematic enough and I don't have to do everything (not annoyed just saying). Crash And Burn, using Framework Lite? Try full one. But uninstall that one and reboot before that.
  13. Is there anyone that still has this issue, regular Vista DVD or ISO, integrated this hotfix with vLite and still have the issue with more than 2GB of RAM to install? If yes then post here or PM me, I might have a solution but it needs to be tested.
  14. beaglebc, I tried your preset and it didn't hang. BUT I didn't put your addons meaning it must be one or more of them. If you find which it is, easily by virtual testing few times, I'll try it gladly. Or if that is hard for you then at least provide me with the links to download all those addons.
  15. rawrbear, that shouldn't happen, maybe you should retry it. Use clean XP installation files, be sure that Direct Integration is enabled in the nLite - Hotfixes - Advanced options.

    nLite 1.4(.1) - - ->

    Yeah, corrected now. The main mirror was 95% uploaded, that error might happen if you limit upload speed during ftp transfer like I did this time.
  17. Fixed in 1.4 Final, redownload if you got it before this post.

    nLite 1.4(.1) - - ->

    Thanks to the iuli_kyle's patience that crash under Vista is finally fixed. Redownload the final if you had that issue.
  19. That's dangerous. If your memory usage goes above 2GB, which isn't so difficult, it will display low virtual memory and start expanding/creating pagefile or just crash. But I guess it's easy to top that only with Virtual Machines and Games which you maybe don't use.
  20. Seriously vLite can't do that, I'm not joking nor guessing.
  21. Keep the folder in the original structure, select any INF.
  22. I always test it with the SP2 (xp and 2k3), don't even use SP1 anymore. What icons, never heard of it. Have you tried emptying your icon cache, TweakUI has that option. Also if you tweak something around it next time try default.
  23. I believe it's the hotfixes or something integrated, that message sounds familiar. What is: WindowsMedia6-KB925398-v2-x86-ENU.exe and WindowsMedia-KB911564-x86-ENU.exe isn't the newest already in the WindowsMedia11-KB936782-x86-ENU.exe Also try without integrating rootsupd.exe. Now I remembered something, before all that move IE7 and it's hotfixes to be the last on the list because some of the hotfixes you integrate might be for IE6, I think this is actually the real cause. So move IE7 down below the Windows hotfixes, and make sure that IE7 hotfixes are below it, like they are now.
  24. Hm no, never heard of that problem before. Try disabling antivirus protection or set it to scan on execute only. I'll try what you said in virtual machine but I doubt that it will happen, could be your hardware or drivers somehow.
  25. turn2dust, use Hide Defaults as the Unattended Mode. Read the question mark popup near that option.
