  1. The way I extract that Intel driver is to run it then go to Windows\temp and find the folder. Insert any INF, the whole folder will be integrated.
  2. Stevie, that Cache is good as free, whatever you run that session it keeps, don't even think about it, it can flush it when needed for something newly ran and it helps when getting old, point is it holds what you run and up to that point, not some statistically collected data like Superfetch. Removing Superfetch and Readyboost you get rid of aggressive caching.
  3. What stuff? The Add Feature breaking fix? No, normal Vista doesn't have that.
  4. Do you consider Cached memory as taken or free? Vista is built that way that it will take all your memory eventually. That makes sense if you think about it. So if you want to compare then consider Cached as Free. Total - (Cached + Free) = Taken But after I install firewall, antivirus and 5-6 more tools which run constantly I get the usage around yours as well. That would go another 200-400 on the full.
  5. That issue will be a priority once Server is near it's final release, until then there are more important stuff. New version is 90% finished, out in a week probably.
  6. Best way is to download the latest drivers from the web page of the particular manufacturer, extract them each in their own folder and integrate them. Driver extractors from the current installation are not perfect, sometimes it can report missing files during Windows installation.
  7. Haven't asked them, nor I ever read such a report, that's why I was surprised when I experienced it.
  8. Explore how to change the image label with imagex to remove vlite tag, I forgot how but it's easy.
  9. Maybe I'm not reading careful enough but are you saying that the files are in the folder but they are not in the ISO? If so then yes I heard about that one before. Then just set Mode to Create Image, switch ISO Engine to mkisofs, create ISO. Then switch Mode to Burn Image and select that ISO made with mksisofs engine.
  10. ernesto, it should work but it is restarted during install and it is again set at auto. Even if I forced it again on the first logon it would still be created once until the next reboot.
  11. It would be better to first try all at default because you could again spend too much time if it's not the cause.
  12. Try without disabling services. Also if it is XP Home then you have to create at least one user with administrator privileges and login with it.
  13. bitbugsbyte, hm I find it unbelievable that it would skip the root files and just copy the folders. Try this then: copy all the files and folders from within Explorer into some new folder on the hard drive then browse with nLite to that folder, not the CD.
  14. I tried and it works fine for me. Choose WIM, generate catalog, open XML, answer Yes. Then on the left choose component, pull it on the appropriate section, then configure. Can you tell me exactly which fails for you? Maybe it's in combination with something removed so attach your preset as well.
  15. Ah yes, Hellgate London has the same trick. Multiplayer is free but if you pay you will be better at it.
  16. No. 1. it's not recommended regardless of the amount of ram. Maybe size change would be a better fit. 2. Windows restarts the size during the setup, so it would require hacking. Not worth it.
  17. You can make an addon and simply add your tweaks into the entries.ini file. But it doesn't accept the reg format, just INF. For REG you can use the Unattended - Runonce and add "regedit /s %source\example\file.reg" Hint: see in the help of that page how to use %source%.
  18. It is just missing On the very end. There is no way vLite can do that since the XML synthax is automated. If you manage to repeat it every time (the missing </unattend>) let me know how, by using clean vLite installation. Thx.
  19. I would say antivirus. The WIM filter issue, read on the vLite HP for more info. Also if your PC is overheating it might also go boom since it is very intensive.
  20. Please edit your personal data in that XML and attach it. Then I'll try it.
  21. Well your rule applies to me as well, I just expressed my opinion. I wouldn't ever say that if I didn't detect certain amount of hostility, maybe because I don't reply to every of your questions, but now you told me to ignore them freely. Anyway this is material for private messaging and it's not really a big deal, I'm probably in a bad mood.
  22. No, until confirmed. How about you stop giving me advices on every topic.
  23. I gave you the choice, keep the wallpapers or use the file protection to keep the ones you want.
  24. There was one tool which got banned by MS by including it onto the Defender's list of malware. I don't know of the other. I guess they all stopped working after the latest compatibility and performance updates. And even if they do I don't like that extra stability variable. Gonna soon upgrade memory to 4GB and I'll have to go 64.
  25. I think they rotate, not sure. Since I skip OOBE I can't vote for this. You decide, it can go into compatibility options. Hm I just had an idea. How about replacing those filenames with some sort of small dot then it doesn't take space and it won't error out?
