  1. It's a slippery slope to talk about borrowing DVDs. (please don't explain further) vLite will display version info below the Browse area, sp1 is 6.0.6001.x, it will also write (Service Pack 1).
  2. What do you mean you create it, was the bug that it did not create the temp folder of your choosing or you deleted it once during operations? Ok gonna adjust the timezone.
  3. None? If it's not on the list then either your GPU isn't properly installed or Aero is removed. 2k8 isn't supported in component removals. Best would be to find force glass tweak and apply it. I hope you're not testing all that in the virtual machine because it can't actually see your real GPU.
  4. Please attach your preset and post a link to the drivers you used. Also do you have any antivirus or similar protection programs installed?
  5. Btw sp1 can't be slipstreamed like older packs could, read the vlite.net second news post about that with the guide. Unless you can get preintegrated ISO which is best solution.
  6. Doesn't seem like you removed anything related, maybe only Table Driven Text Input Processor since that is the weird one. But anyway how do I test for that? Also if you figure it out don't forget to let me know. If I need Tablet to test it then it's up to you.
  7. Ok, good. Oh it makes sense that Movie Maker needs WMP Codecs, gonna check and make the necessary adjustments for the dependency warnings. Thx.
  8. Don't double post. Does the full Vista fails the same, that section can only be influenced by Unattended - Select this version on install option and Storage Controllers removed.
  9. Since you didn't remove Aero then lets cover the basics, did you check the Desktop right - click - Personalize - Windows Color and Appearance - Color Scheme is there "Windows Aero" on the list? Also go to the System - Advanced - Performance Settings - Adjust for Best Appearance then again go to the Personalize and reselect Aero scheme.
  10. Well you removed winsxs, case closed No updating after that. It's hidden and extreme component for a reason. Did I mention also that component removal in 2k8 isn't supported.
  11. Ok, since Vista files are big this became a necessity. Gonna seriously bump it up the production line
  12. Ok, but I gotta lock warez talk anyway.
  13. No, vice versa. Because in 1.1.1 there was registry load fix which may have introduced the complication for this user. Even though it shouldn't have there is always possibility so he should try 1.1 If it also doesn't work then it's his installation somehow.
  14. If that is vLite 1.1.1 please try vLite 1.1, you can find it on the download page.
  15. Good that it worked out for you but let us know when you remove WinRM and Remote Registry, they shouldn't matter.
  16. Besides your local issue unrelated to vLite only other thing can be removal of Desktop Windows Manager but you would have to skip Aero compatibility option, dependency warning and description to remove it "by accident".
  17. Yeah that shares the same idea with the guys who want to copy the modified version and keep the original intact. Still trying to justify that feature, getting close There are some screenshots here http://www.vlite.net/about.html

    Integrating MUIs

Ok saving this in todo. Thx for reporting.
  19. Yeah they could have skipped chunks of it since all parts have per-component update. Also where is slipstream. Problem here is that the SP had to be released fast to help Vista users so no time for luxury of flexibility. Also Vista architecture is new, give them some time, they already said that SP2 will have slipstream, maybe it will skip missing parts as well, especially now when they see that it might be useful. XP Sp3 install might even work on a lite XP but then again I would not recommend it. It could return some parts. Even for a full OS it's best to reinstall when SP comes out. If reinstallation once a year is too much fuss then don't tamper with the OS.
  20. Yes it's normal. Going to filter those out if it proves to be confusing and with no purpose.
  21. Well, can't be that harsh, we are removing components on our own, they are not responsible.

Did you choose Japanese in the vLite - Unattended - Regional - GUI ?

    nLite 1.4.1

razhar, any error messages? Btw uninstall that Framework Lite, reboot and try full Framework 2.0 from Microsoft's page, link is where you found that one. SP3 doesn't matter.

Can you explain what do you mean by booting from windows and booting from bios? Also if there is no ja-jp folder then you selected to remove it in Components-Languages (selected means remove)
  25. Oh, right...but if it isn't installed during install then it is the limitation because of non-whql. 169.25 works fine here, and I vaguely remember that one of the beta drivers didn't install during setup but I'm not using beta drivers for a long time so it can go either way. I presume the problem is that display driver was "Standard VGA". If you are using beta driver install it manually after install.
