  1. You're welcome.
  2. Good. Have fun.
  3. For WU you can remove all (except winsxs, present only in extreme mode). For SP1 you must keep all. So to use vLite on SP1 you gotta have preintegrated installation, read on vlite.net for more info.
  4. Yes there will be an update but it influences only those who had registry load issue when running vLite from XP.
  5. spyboy, you should have created a new topic for bug report. Try keeping IP Helper, Network Center and TCP/IP NetBios Helper. Network Center and Wireless Configuration are 100% needed for wireless. If you do have all those installed then try to debug your issue regardless of vLite, it may be a configuration issue.
  6. Yes. With 2 remarks: - A and B don't have updated setup routines, that may or may not be important to you, if you don't have any issues now then it's not important. - C will probably be without the SP Uninstall backup files. That's a good thing. I was just about to do the same option for A but no point when MS releases a preintegrated ISO. Unless it's not free then...
  7. hm, I only saw that when having an antivirus. Do you have DEP protection forced on all apps (on the host machine)? Also, probably unrelated but still important, you integrate IE7 after IE7 hotfixes, that's a bad combo, do it the other way around. Best is to sort by build date (click on column tab) then move IE7 last and then IE7 hotfixes below IE7 installer.
  8. Update all your drivers, keep Battery and UPS if you didn't. Also see about BIOS ACPI options. This is probably a driver or update issue.
  9. Check if Computer Browser service is working, it is needed for Workgroup browsing and I think that it needs Firewall service.
  10. I saw this issue only if Event Log service disabled and not removed. And of course DHCP.

    vLite on Vista SP1

Fixed the error when running from XP. It was XP limitation but I managed somehow. Gonna release tomorrow if no bugs found, PM me if you want to test.
  12. Oh. I always had it. Kinda annoying issue so please let us know if you figure out why.
  13. If the setup reprompts the cdkey page then the cdkey isn't valid for that version, nothing weird there. You can't remove something and make it not recognize a cdkey, that's impossible. Type it manually and you'll see.
  14. Gone dark meaning it shuts down or ? Check if your ACPI is installed and maybe it's Hibernating.
  15. It's not removals. Now you search for MCE issue, I really have no experience with that but I know that there is no FF component Check your remote as well.
  16. j7n, there are 3 last session examples in the attachment. If you meant only on Last Session, without the dates, then I would say that WMI service removal looks funky on it's own. Meaning a lot of other components rely on it so they might be waiting for it.
  17. Huh it must be some VMWare shared drive thing then. How about you try it on VMWare regular virtual disk. It works fine in the normal virtual machine. By normal I mean don't use the shared drive/folder.
  18. If that option is enabled it means it detected the same routine and it should work.
  19. It hides the default country language and keyboard for your own protection. For example now you can select all and not worry.
  20. Yes it does skip readme files because usually drivers don't copy them. Why on earth that one does is a question. But I will see if it's possible to add that back, depending how will multiple of same filenames in different folders behave. What about this modified Ati driver, does it work when updating manually and only not when integrated or you're trying to debug the modified INF in general?
  21. Mine as well. But please search before asking: http://www.latestintech.com/vista-wont-rem...work-passwords/ There are plenty of reports so seems it's a Vista bug or a feature.
  22. blerk, from another Vista yes. From XP check this thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/vLite-Vista-SP1-t111854.html Basically if you run vLite from XP keep the Dynamic Volume Manager and ignore registry load error popup. Gonna fix that but since from another Vista it works fine I'm not in the rush so I'm waiting for more bug reports.
  23. What is the advantage of waiting if the setup works fine with the old boot.wim? Waiting is bad because there are hundreds of hotfixes and I am not hunting those, also the integration of all of them is greatly more questionable compared to installing SP1 RC. In both cases you get updated installation and not boot.wim so ... who cares. Only case that I know of is the people with 3gb+ BSOD during install on 64bit installs. On 32bit vLite has the fix but it did not help in 64bit for some reason. They must unplug RAM until SP1 integrated is out, no matter if they use hotfixes or SP1.

    vLite on Vista SP1

re*s.t.a.r.s.*2, yes the CDDRV from the installer fails if that system restore file is missing. But apparently it fails for other reasons as well because I posted that info on the Logitech forum and it didn't help to this guy. It did help to me, I have Logitech mouse and keyboard. That file will be saved by default from next vLite.

    Game Explorer Bug

MFCK, I was expecting that result but now you should remove it and test again. I believe that only fresh reinstall solved your issue. Don't forget that for majority of users, lets say almost all, game explorer is not needed to run games. There is a possibility that there is something else you do or install later on that disables the games.
