  1. Understood, but your original version of StartProxy.exe was starting on boot correctly, it was only ProxHTTPSProxy.exe that wasn't (and still isn't of course).
  2. All working fine with the latest version of StartProxy.exe! I understand now that the proxy shouldn't be started with ProxHTTPSProxy.exe, as I had been assuming, but as an aside, do you know why ProxHTTPSProxy.exe won't start on boot?
  3. No problem, but please only use this thread for discussion about @NotHereToPlayGames/ArcticFoxie's versions of the 360Chrome browser. Discussion about peripheral software should go in a separate thread, unless it's directly connected with the browser(s).
  4. Well I substituted StartProxy.exe with the new version, and tried putting ProxHTTPSProxy.exe back in the run key in the registry, and the proxy was still not starting. Is that right? I had assumed the problem was with ProxHTTPSProxy.exe, not with StartProxy.exe. I then put the run key back as it was before, running StartProxy.exe. I'm now getting 'Windows cannot find Files\Windows'. Is this the spaces problem back again? Putting the old file back everything works again.
  5. Absolutely, I can see exactly why you've done what you've done. For the majority of people, it's absolutely the right way to go. They would have no problem with Min2Tray either, I've just got so used to being able to call up the proxy window with one click on its icon in the tray, and then hiding it with another click on the same icon, that anything different, even one extra click, seems disadvantageous. Oh, and thanks for thinking of me!
  6. That's good to know! Automatic deactivation doesn't actually matter for me anyway as I always have the proxy running all the time.
  7. Ah right! So is there any disadvantage in starting things on boot by running StartProxy.exe instead of ProxHTTPSProxy.exe?
  8. Yes of course, I wasn't putting that forward as a solution! It was just to demonstrate that the proxy itself can run immediately on boot, it's just ProxHTTPSProxy.exe which seems to have the problem. In fact I've now put StartProxy.exe in the registry run key instead of the batch file, and that works fine too, probably a better thing to do than directly running the batch file. I assume it's the same as invoking 'StartProxHTTPSProxy' in PopMenu. In fact if I run it that way, both ProxHTTPSProxy.exe and python37.exe are running in the Task Manager. That surprised me a bit, as I had assumed that ProxHTTPSProxy.exe would not run in that configuration.
  9. Just an update on the delay problem. If I put ProxHTTPSProxy.bat in the registry run key, the proxy starts immediately on boot as normal. So it's not a problem with the proxy itself, it's an issue specifically with ProxHTTPSProxy.exe. I thought perhaps that the path to the files needed to be in the PATH environment variable, but when I looked, it was already there, so it's not that!
  10. Me too! Off-topic here, but I use a program called SysTrayUtil, which someone here wrote and posted about a while ago. It's a bit fiddly to set up, but it works brilliantly, all my system tray icons are now always exactly as I want them.
  11. Thanks, a great pleasure to be able to help. One thing still puzzling me. As an experiment, I have tried setting things up as I had before, using TrayIt! All still works fine, but why exactly does ProxHTTPSProxy.exe now have to have a delayed start? I put it in the 'run' key in my registry, but it doesn't run. It only runs if I delay it. Is this because PopMenu is preventing it from running somehow until PopMenu is complexly loaded?
  12. Try to install the program package by using different paths! All seems fine, no problem with spaces! Check if my configuration utility "Configure PopMenu" does its job properly in your system! Yes, it worked perfectly. Read the documentation and check if it is complete and understandable! I think so, as long as people read it fully of course (which I didn't initially!) and remember what it says. It's all there. Try out all provided features! All work as advertised. After applying my configuration program, perform a restart and check if the programs Min2Tray and PopMenu were started automatically! Yes they were. Check if the proxy settings are activated after executing the file "StartProxy.exe", and deactivated after closing the proxy in different ways! All seems fine. Call up different websites and also TLS testing websites while using the proxy! TLS v1.3 connections fine in IE8!
  13. So it does, but that's not very intuitive IMO. I would have expected to have to right-click on the minimise button, not the close button! Fair enough, but using TrayIt! will also get rid of the extra tray icon problem, as it can hide its own icon. I'm a bit surprised that Min2Tray can't do that, being as it's a system tray utility, but I guess their view is that you should always be able to immediately access the program.
  14. I now see that @NotHereToPlayGames has just said pretty much the same thing! There seems to be no equivalent to that functionality now.
  15. Sounds good! Delaying ProxHTTPSProxy.exe auto-starting by 10 seconds with Startup Delayer does work. I'm afraid from my experiments at the moment I prefer my TrayIt! solution though. I got really used to just being able to click on the Proxy icon to bring its window up, and clicking it again to put it back in the tray.
  16. Ah, understood! I was caught out because the proxy always used to start on boot by default for me with previous installations. I need it running all the time because my e-mails in Eudora don't display properly without it. I have Startup Delayer already installed and running to delay other things, so I will just use that.
  17. The documentation seems fine to me. Would you like another Word document of the proofed version with a bigger font? One thing I'm now finding is that although Min2Tray and PopMenu run at boot fine, HTTPSProxy doesn't. I have to start it manually. What have I missed?
  18. OK. I don't like using the Windows 'hide inactive icons' option much. I have always had it disabled, and using it just puts an extender double arrow in place of the hidden icon, so you don't gain any space if you're only hiding one icon! I will investigate further! I've attached a proof-read copy of the main document (which I actually hadn't read, I only read the 'Readme First!' one!) I've marked the corrections in red (which is why it has to be a Word document) I hope you can read it OK. Cheers, Dave. Documentation of ProxHTTPSProxy.docx
  19. I did read it, I must have forgotten that bit! I'll look again and report back!
  20. OK, first impressions, all works really well! My first question is, is it possible to hide the Min2Tray icon in the system tray? I can't see any obvious setting to do that. My tray is already pretty cluttered and the Proxy icon and PopMenu icon I obviously want there, but I can't see any reason to have to keep the Min2Tray icon there.
  21. The sound is fine for me with 13.5. The browser is a bit of a resource hog though, maybe that's the problem? Try with version 11 and see if it's the same, apparently that's much lighter on resources. It's certainly a very capable browser, I've found very few sites which malfunction using it.
  22. I think it's unlikely. My understanding was that versions after 13.x would not be XP compatible, and in fact would be 64 bit only. Be very careful if you do run that installer and it works, I tried one installer (13.6 I think) and it installed a lot of unwanted crap on my machine!
  23. Yes thanks, installed for me on August 18th 2018.
