Kind of old and redundant now with zBrush3 out (And .msi too!), but I couldn't find it on search so I thought I'd show how I got zBrush2 to silent install. Anyways: Take your zBrush2.exe and extract it to a folder using your favorite multi-archive extractor (I used winrar), for the purpose of consistency I extracted to \zbrush2\. Now go to \zbrush2\InstallerData\ and open Execute.zip. In this archive's root is a file InstallScript.iap_xml, open it in your usual text editor. Now look for the section as such: <property name="supportsConsoleUI"> <boolean>false</boolean> </property> <property name="supportsSilentUI"> <boolean>false</boolean> </property> And change both values to true as such: <property name="supportsConsoleUI"> <boolean>true</boolean> </property> <property name="supportsSilentUI"> <boolean>true</boolean> </property> Save your file and put it back into Execute.zip, overwriting/replacing the version already in there, extract it again and open it to check if you need to. Success, I finally found a file and method that works... somehow. No matter what switches I use I cannot seem to get the installer to run unattended, it seems it's a container for another installer which isn't extracting properly to the %TEMP% area. Anyone had any luck with this update? Attached screenshot.

I might aswell update as no-one is willing to help, I've nailed it downt o hotfixes, but which one is a problem, it takes 30-45 mins to make a new nlite compilation and install it in vmware. This is my limit, I've needed my PC to do Uni assignments for the past 2-3 days, I might give up and just use the hotfixes from an older a release which don't break IE. Sorry to bump as it seems no-one yet has an answer, well I'm gonna push on regardless and make another disc, see if I can get IE working without AU.

I'm currently running a non-IE7 setup but IE is broken (tries to "download" every page, half of inet options cpl is gone), causing havoc with registering 3DSMax among other things. I'm just trying to figure out what the cause is, I now hover over "Automatic Updates" and see that it's needed for IE7. In what way as I protest having Automatic updates on my system, I prefer to download updates when I have the time and prefer packages like autopatcher. That and it's just more crap running inthe background I don't need. So could this NOW be killing IE? My new user was created, but autologin decided it preferred the admin account instead and no logon amount was set.

RC2 is kind of leaving me with a bit of an unstable OS at the moment, i set autologon for a user accoutn I made and it autologged admin instead, I can tell the kernel is paged and I can't use unsigned themes, even witht he uxtheme multipatcher, I had trouble installing language files and some of the tweaks haven't been installed. DirectX playing up with d3ddx9_26.dll not there for some reason which Max8 requires. So. do I hold out of RC3 or go back to 1.0.1 and remake the disc (That is if 1.0.1 supports my Last Session.ini) Hoping there'll be a new release soon as a usable OS would be lovely =P nLite's the only program I use so please, keep upt he good work, hope the bugs are fixed soon =P
