u can using wmlite to install the windows media codecs and plugins but i dont remember how well it works on windows x64. then just use media player classic or other media player. if that doesnt work, youll have to re-nlite ur source and not remove WMP.
[services] lists all the services u removed. for teh remaining services [services2] show if u changed how any of the services start. for example, u can leave them at default or change them to Disabled, Manual or Automatic.
maybe its just the icons are missing? u could try running Internet Explorer by pressing "Windows key + R", typing "iexplore.exe" where it says open, and then clicking ok. similarly do the same for Outlook Express "msimn.exe"
i noticed this feature in the new 1.2 beta and i have a couple of questions: 1. does this in any way(s) affect Out of Box Experience (since u can create accounts there too)? 2. can i use nlite to add a user but then tell OOBE not to create any users (i dont want to remove OOBE tho)?
u can use autopatcher xp to update your existing windows xp sp2 installation. also u can use nlite to integrate service pack 2 to your windows xp source and u can use nlite to integrate post SP2 update packs as well. ryanvm, xable, and booogy all make suitable update packs.
roguespear has long stopped offering silent, standalone itunes installers. but i was wondering if someone would consider making one for the new version 7? i use quicktime alternative so i dont want to use the standard itunes setup which installs the full quicktime.
i uploaded the alternative runtimes to ultrashare.net. heres the link: http://ultrashare.net/hosting/fl/c3c5293274/ as for bootable ISO. nlite does have such functionality. try viewing this post.
i think you need to disable windows file protection (WFP). nlite has a patch to do this. but seriously, nlite'd windows installations are not for people w/o knowledge.
im a bit confused but anyways, using the school copy, copy all the cd files to a folder and nlite it. after u burn the ISO, just boot from the cd and install windows. when u install windows remember to format your old windows partition.
no it does not automatically nLite your windows source and theres no defaults although there are two optional presets for Component Removal . You have to tell nLite what to do and what to remove (if you choose to remove components). Also theres more to nLite than just removing stuff. You can integrate drivers, programs, and updates. You can also make an unattended install and make a bootable iso.
