The user is supposed to be yourself as nLite is (you agreed when installing it) for personal use only.

There's a recent update mentioned on "The Register" (link). Reviews seem to be for all versions.

That C:\W\ will be your "XP destination" if that's what you're asking. In fact that "destination" only has a meaning if you have nLite copying the files from a CD to your hard drive. If instead you point nLite directly to a folder on your HDD, the source and the destination are the same. You better test your iso with a virtual machine before going further as it is not sure your C:\Windows\I386 contains all files needed for an XP installation.

Right-click "My Computer", then use menus Properties/ Advanced / Startup and Recovery. It will let you change Default OS and time. There's a button on that screen that lets you try gunsmokingman's suggestion (manual edition of the boot.ini) if you really need to change the display order.

Hibernate. If there is no security issue (different accounts, with passwords), hibernate is a good solution as the start time will be considerably shorter (shut down time will be a few seconds longer but that's not a problem as you don't have to stay in front of the machine). Still, Microsoft OSs need to be really restarted from time to time. "Sleep mode" will drain your battery on a laptop and will still consume power on a desktop.

Have you read this thread before posting in it ? Have you searched the "Applications Add-ons" subforum for "office2003" ?

You can try manually editing the winnt.sif and change the entry "ComputerType = Automatic" in unattended section, then rebuilding the iso only, with nLite. Edit:... sorry I got confused, that line is in the Last_session.ini, but I think it must have been translated somewhere in the winnt.sif. I don't have such file to check right now if it stands exactly like that. Edit second time... Can't find that setting in a winnt.sif so I guess unless someone can find the line in the finished product, yes, the original poster has to begin again. This time leaving computer type as "Automatic".

You're not adding your themes from within the working directory, are you ? Also some people report similar problems when placing items on the desktop. So please attach not paste your Last_session.ini file.

You can't do that. nLite is for personal use only, not for any professional-commercial use. You agreed to that during installation. Really, when working in professional environment, one should know what software he can or can't use.

ESPACE.

This is because you're using nLite on a set of files that have already been modified. You should not do that and it is possibly also the cause of your main problem. Only start with your original disc or with Service Pack ONLY integrated.

Depending what CD you start with, you might have that possibility with SP3. Someone once reported that starting from SP1 or lower (I think), he had to integrate SP2 first then SP3 to keep that option.

1) No need to swear. 2) Please read the big red message up your screen.

Let me first say Welcome, ...but then that this has been answered tons and tons of times. Really. -do the operations under XP as OS, not running Vista nor Win7. -make sure the key works with THAT set of files before you use nLite or include SP3. I'm not implying your key is invalid or illegal, still that would not mean it works with that cd and your PC. -if that still doesn't solve your problem, try this: run nLite (still under XP!), reload your original CD, include SP2 only, rerun nlite, including SP3 only, keep those files (backup) as base for next steps with nLite (hotfixes, drivers, unattended etc... all in one go) -Please report.
-
This is a bit confusing. In "Task Selection", you needed to tick 1st and last options. Now the SP is integrated, you could run nLite with only LAST OPTION selected and give a file name to your ISO file. The ISO file might be what you refer as the "Roxio type folder", I'm not sure (you meant "file", right ?). That ISO file should be burned (possibly with Roxio) using the method "burn image to CD" or "write CD from image" as opposed to "Data CD" or "Music CD" or whatever other options you might get.

There is a specific forum for nLite qurstions (see the big red announcement up your screen ?) but your question goes further than that. You should have nLite to create an ISO file and burn it AS IMAGE, not drop the files on the CD like you seem to have done. +Your other Dell SP3 disc should do the trick as well. Maybe the original problem comes from from ther fact that SP3 must only be applied to a system running Win XP SP1a or later, I'm not sure it would let you install on earlier (no SP) system. Also as you ask, nLite (all versions) is only for XP, Win2k and Win Server2003, an other program was written for Vista; vLite.

Not sure if this is relevant.

If it was damaged cable, you would likely have flickers when you move the lid. If its really permanent, I'd say ...panel.

Have you tried using smaller than "60416" to see if the command actually works or if it's a problem of Mega being 1000 vs 1024 ?

Windows XP Pro can be bought in any IT shop. Should you buy it ??? Unless they give it to you for free, probably yes. Since you don't need a serial, eBay could have some bargains.

Here you need to download the corresponding exe's from the site you linked to, run them to get them packages they are to extract themself, and (like I tried for the WiFi) create a folder (in this case "C:\cabs\") where you will find .inf files. When you've got inf for all devices you need (the exe might extract differently), run nLite and point to them inf. -do not copy those driver files in the CD's directory -do not copy them on the desktop as some user reported strange side effects. If all inf are in a same subdir, you can use the "include multiple drivers" option to have nLite search for those inf files inside one folder. When you have all thos inf files in the drivers window, remove those that are not for XP x86. Cheers. My first post would not have been that bad if it was not coming after the others.

different problems here -meaningless tittle for this thread (I usually stop here). -borrowed cd probably not matching hardware and/or original key -multiple exe drivers to be extracted (-no hardware description) -self confessed non techie user will need lots of "clear" explanations on "grey area" operation.
