  5. From May 24th and on Alanoll has taken full control of the project, I'd like to Thank him for helping me out and taking over the project. Good Luck *NEW* Winamp 5.03a download link USAGE This Winamp MSI release lets you define command lines to install your favorite Audio/Video player. Accepted Switches Xagent Xlibrary XintexXhotkey Xjump Xtray [*]Xmodernskin [*]Xaudio Xwma Xmid Xmod Xogg Xaac Xmp3enc Xmp4 Xcdplay Xsonic Xcddb Xwav [*]Xvideo Xnsv Xavi [*]Xvisual Xtinyfull Xavs Xmilkdrop [*]Xextra Xsignal Xwritewav Xdcout [*]Xregopt Xdircont Xtypecont Xnetscape Xaudiocd [*]NEW switches Xname Xkey [*]Xfull Command line Usage simply put =1 to the components u want to install so if I want to install Winamp agent I'd add Winamp.msi Xagent=1 so if I want to install all Audio Components I'd add Winamp.msi Xaudio=1 and that would add all the audio components so that u don't have to write all the sub-components of audio. u can use multiple switches at the same time so winamp.msi Xagent=1 Xaudio=1 Xvideo=1 and so on... if u fully want to install Winamp use Xfull=1 option. if u are registered with Winamp and have a serial key and a username do as follows to automatically register your copy of winamp winamp.msi Xname=your user name Xkey=your key in XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX format Do NOT forget to put "" around your user name if u have space in between..!! if u don't want a certain component to not install, just leave it off the command line. Everything defaults to NOT INSTALLED unless specified with =1 U can see a list of it on the installer as well (if u don't want to use silent switches) Fixed Problems Msi is now able to add your registration key Type registration has been fixed, now the types are selected Known Issues: When u uninstall Winamp the associations will not revert back to original program.(I could revert them back to media player, but I don't know if anyone uses Windows Media Player...) No other known issues sorry I still couldn't figure out how to use ini's so that u don't have to write everything in the commandline so expect the new stuff from Alanoll. okay for ppl who really don't want to use the msi u can always write a simple vbs or js to click on the preferences in original winamp.exe
  6. Hi there i'm trying to put a simple cgi script on to my webserver. I've modified the attributes of the cgi's to 755. now normally it should be working right? in this case this should be working http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/a/z/azh1...gi-bin/load.cgi right? but i'm getting 403 forbidden errors even when i give full permission?? when i change the file extension from cgi to txt or something i can access it. what's wrong here??? i just want to put a simple download counter! in this case this is supposed to work http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/a/z/azh1...eMaC/winAMP.msi i change the folder permissions but they get reverted back to its original **** value! Thanks
  7. I agree with alanoll I've been playing with msi's now over 2 months. (i dealt with them like everyday. they are very capable of doing stupid things) yes i've created/modified/played/deleted/started over again a billion times ie modified acdsee, took out the unneccessary components to make a nicer silent install, put my serial in etc.... but the problem is the more ppl learn how to play with these the less its going to get secure for the companies. i mean crackers/hackers can also grab wininstall or any msi modify tool. etc.. I think not everyone should modify their msi's especiall the ones that don't even know what msi is
  8. don't hand them flame throwers!!!
  9. are u specificly asking mstest to answer this? (cause he's not been around) if u're running 817778's executable through runonce or something u don't need to do anything. but i think u're manually editing and adding the files right?
  10. first of all u're very right that waiting time is bc of the services. and if u look at the task manager u'll probably won't see anything under "user name" tab. i have always had this problem when i stopped lots of services. these could be what's causing it -Terminal Services (Terminaldienste) -Server -WebClient +sens I think its mostly bc of sens try it. (after getting the long wait u're getting i've always reverted back to my safe settings. which i close internet releated stuff comp browser , this that. so try sens.. i know its not dependent on anything but i think it's somehow related. if that fails try the other 4 services..
  11. that's not something fixable u dont' have permission to go on to that page. if u're following a link just try 1 upper level
  12. lexmark x83 (just BROKE!! **** it)

  14. i'm almost done with 5.0.3a its actually done there are like 10-15 updated files but i did some stupid stuff with path variables it gets so hard like this to update so i'm fixing all of them now to easyly update in the future.. cmdline is a go !!
  15. ow crap dumb stupid id*** me, i was trying to get the pro thinking it was full ok i got it now. will be working on it.............. ok as long as we've a working one maybe someday we'll put ini stuff in there as well as a matter of fact u know what i'm gonna do i'll get an msi that has a ini for it for example adobe reader or something and try to work it out from there though i should get something other than reader since it doesn't have components to choose from any basic one's u've in mind that uses an ini?
  16. well i knew that anyways i cannot find the 5.0.3a can someone point it at me?
  17. run that exe and go look at c:\windows\downloaded installs or similar u should see a msi and a cab file u need them both copy them and use ar6.msi /qb or /qn to install good luck

  20. might this be it? Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\ListBoxSmoothScrolling] "Type"="checkbox" "Text"="@shell32.dll,-30544" "SPIActionGet"=dword:00001006 "SPIActionSet"=dword:00001007 "CheckedValue"=dword:00000001 "UncheckedValue"=dword:00000000 "DefaultValue"=dword:00000001 "HelpID"="windows.hlp#51140" also this seems to get modified as well Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] "SmoothScroll"=dword:00000001
  21. i made it from the full 5.0.3 i'll change it to 5.0.3a and i'll add individual /switches thing to it as alanoll's been doing......
  22. that's what it sounds like
  23. u mean with jdeboeck's files or something?
  24. bowling awesome!!! mustang awesome!!! toilet hmm well if they chain it, it's not going to help anything but make it more dirty cause there won't be anyone to pick up that thing (what ever its called, the thing. )
  25. maybe u set the restore hdd capacity too low and the changes required to complete that action requires those files. and since its on low it didn't backup those files and therefore cannot restore them. I'm sure u're confused by these sentences . don't use system restore. it sucks. why & to what do u need to go back?
