An easy way to crash FF.... Start downloading anyfile through FF's Built in downloader Close any instances of FF except the download status window. Reload FF Should crash FF. If it dont work, try again... No such problems with IE7 or Opera9.xx And yeah ...What a memory hogger! just tried that, downloading ie7 (oh the irony) closed ff and reopened - nothing! ff didnt even flinch, but lets not argue, each to their own

A command to get WSUS to 'see' a new computer
eyeball replied to sys6x's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
if its a single pc then you need to go into the registry and point it to your WSUS server. i cant remember where the key is though :S but when i had trouble with wsus adding this key and rebooting did the trick -

Running XP with no firewall,anti-virus or update, And pc is fine!
eyeball replied to albator's topic in Windows XP
No, I dont have a router, all my ports are open No software firewall, no hardware firewall why risk it? its not worth it for the sake of 15-20mb extra ram usage from a firewall or AV, i could understand if we were all on p100's with 32mb ram but come on its 2007 and 2GB of ram is the norm these days! -
do you have a domain? or a p2p network?

Connecting 98se [& XP] to virgin broadband
eyeball replied to Arrow's topic in Networks and the Internet
98se used to work with NTL before they were virgin, i dont see why it still would not?. the best way to get around this one may be to have 2 NICS in the xp machine and a crossover between the 2 machines and then to run ics (internet connection sharing) on the xp machine and share the internet connection EDIT: sorry not the best way, but the cheapest way is definatley ics. the best way would be a cable router of course -
alright mate cool yer boots, seriously, thanks for the help though il look it up and see if it supports it, i didnt take into consideration voltages and such

Easy to maintain corporate antivirus and antispyware
eyeball replied to eyeball's topic in Software Hangout
Hi thanks for the quick reply, can you elaborate a little? cheers -
Hi all, what do you guys use as your company anti-virus and anti-spyware? At the minute (and ever since version 6 and below) we are using E-Trust, and to be honest version 8 is rubbish, it has a web interface that crashes a lot and its not easy to manage, the anti spyware gives you no indication whatsoever that it is even running! unless you look at it from the server, and even then a scan with spybot often picks up stuff that Etrust misses. anyway can some of you guys tell me what you are currently using and how easy they are to use, setup and maintain? thank you so much

Hi all, i have a little project i need some advice on please, someone wants me to setup wireless in their house the only problem is it is 3 floors high and very long, so im thinking of using 1xADSL router (possibly MIMO) and 2xrepeaters (he doesnt want any wires so these have to be repeaters) on the other floors to create a big WLAN all on the same SSID the router will have to go on the top floor as the ADSL connection comes in there and the 2 repeaters will have to go one on each floor. can anyone recommend a router and access points that will work together? or does anyone have any pointers? thanks ever so much
