  1. Hi all, im looking for a program i wonder if anyone can help me i always have my taskbar down the right hand side of my screen and i was wondering does anybody know of a program that: a) sits in the taskbar itself and allows you to play music from a list or B) is an actual downloadable side bar that has a playlist in it that i can just play music from? i know such programs probably dont exist but it would be nice lol thanks for any info
  2. you could VPN to the server and join the domain and access resources located on the server but you couldnt actually use its bandwidth for your network in egypt as the bandwidth connecting you to the server is limited to 1024/512 so its impossible to use more bandwidth than you can get, if you see what i mean thanks
  3. check in the error logs (right my computer -> manage) and look in there.... have u virus scanned it? or do u have a virus scanner? some virus often cause pcs to constantly restart.
  4. hey dude! i think i know what you might be trying to do give this a go.... in the properties of both cards.. card 1 - automatically an ip automatically and same with dns (WAP = Wireless Access Point) ok assuming your WAP has an ip of 192.168.1.1 and its default gateway is set to 192.168. 1.2 setup ard 2 as follows card 2 ip address - 192.168.1.2 subnet mask - 255.255.255.0 default gateway - empty dns - empty now if you highlight both cards and select "bridge connections" you might be able to connect wirelessly to the WAP and get to the internet.... try it and let us know what happens thanks
  5. EDIT holy crap!!! it worked i entered \\two\c$ and the box came up with guest in it so i put in the ADMINISTRATOR password not the guest password and it worked!!! thanks dude
  6. i have a problem and its doing my head in! lol here it is i have 2 xp pro machines connected by a crossover cable they both have only the administrator account and the guest account on, they are called "one" and "two" ones ip - 192.168.1.1 twos ip - 192.168.1.2 on one i tried mapping \\192.168.1.2\c$ and it pops up with the box for authentication, greyed out is two\guest so i enter the password and nothing happens... so i went in computer management i added the guest as a member of the administrators and tried again and still nothing the same happens from the other machine (two to one) please help! i want to access admin shares without actually sharing the drives!! (by the way if i do share the drives i can access them no probs) thanks for any help
  7. also if you have one of those huge fridges dont put the router around that, that screws up the signal too... my wireless used to get messed up all the time, in the end i just switched back to wires, its so much better imo
  8. sweet! thanks for that chilifrei64, i thought that only certain companies could authorise these, I suppose it does make sense tho if you have a buisness and you have an exchange and all you wanna do is use OWA to access your exchange server and your mail then why would you need someone else to "sign" the certificate as its for yourself. thanks again chilifrei64 its all so much clearer now! lol
  9. he might want to consider a securty certificate from a company such as THAWTE or similar, for security reasons, but yeah the other guys are riight OWA is the best way.. you can also buy a domain name so instead of https:\\xx.xxx.x.xx./exchange you can just have mail.yourdomain.com which is much easier for ppl to remember
  10. on her firewall make sure that traffic coming in on port 5900 is forwarded to her ip (if if her ip is being NAT by a hardware firewall or a comp acting as a gateway) if not if its just a software firewall then just opening port 5900 maybe enough....not very secure tho, to best secure this its good to specify a source ip (in this case your external ip) thanks p.s and also ensure that only destination port is 5900 since source port could be any port at all
  11. i love xpize!!! its fantastic although in this version im not too fond of the boot screen....personally i would have had something different, other than that though thank you
  12. hey chilifrei64 so if i get the exchange 5.5 server upto 2003 and then migrate all the mailboxes over to the new 2003 server, and then just delete a few mailboxes off the old server as a test and see what happens? if this works you are my saviour thanks
  13. thanks cluberti ill look into creating a default outlook profile with the resource kit if i cant do it with the reg key, but imho i think this reg key is the way to do this thanks EDIT: so does anyone have any ideas as to how to add this string to each subkey of the path i specified above?! it has to be possible..please say it is! lol
  14. cool! cos i was thinking of creating my own version of shell32.dll with foood's icons and a few others and i didnt wanna spend ages doing it for it not to work, lol thanks
  15. ok cool! well please let me know if you find a way to automate the changing of the exchange server on each individual machine. like i say the only way i can see is via that registry key, but since each users profile has a different value it looks like its going to be harder than i thought.. thanks net user
  16. indeed it is 5.5 to 2003 lol, not direct though going to go from 5.5 to 2000 then 2000 to 2003 then move all the mailboxes over to a brand new 2003 server.....shouldnt be too difficult, i hope
  17. hi all, i have a problem that i would greatly appreciate help with...here goes we have 300+ users all connecting to srv1 as their exchange server, pretty soon however they will all need to be pointed to srv2 as their exchange server. this would be a pain to do manually so i thought that a regsitry import done via login script would solve it, however [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\MS Exchange Settings\CHANGES] the part iv called CHANGES is different for each users profile but the string i wish to import ( "001e660c"="srv2") is not so my question is... can i import this string to the key below AND also to each subkey underneath it? [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\MS Exchange Settings] thanks for any help on this
  18. been reading this thread and i have a question... when using the res hacker replace icon method do u have to do any resizing of icons at all? or just replace them? also does anyone know where the icons are stored for winamp please? i want to replace these for some of foood's icons thanks
  19. This is an amazing program i love it!! a suggestion.... can u make it so that you can just drag a runonceex.cmd into the program window and it loads it? i would find this very useful as im sure others would thanks EDIT: also just found out that copernic desktop search (copernicdesktopsearch.exe) installs silently with /s switch
  20. **bumped** can anyone please confirm this for me? thanks
  21. ok so just to clarify i have my folder called "xp" and inside this i have the standard windows xp sub directories and files but i also create my own directory in "xp" and put into it what i wish? then just burn it as normal? thanks
