  3. i like that association with nortan and a sick virtual machine/computer does it still come with livereg as well.
  4. you missed vlc media player, its the only one that works on my computer at the moment because i have a dodgy soundcard driver. But i also like amovie.ocx (C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL32.EXE amovie.ocx,RunDll) because it uses the least memory, media player classic is good to though, wmp is ok i still have it installed as well.
  5. tugzip yay, winrar is ok better than winzip, i still use winimp as well which supports creating folder trees
  6. want vista meant to be the biggest upgade since 95, i dont think it is but anyway i havent used it.
  7. mostly i think its because people are too lasy, using lots of dependencies they dont need to.

  10. they could put in winfs or the other features they were going to put in vista but didnt
  11. im guesing the answer is no how about just extra settings not xp specific
  12. i tried it on 98se you have to get the ntoskrnl.exe file and put it into the system32 file and than it simulate the win2k crashing it appears it not completly compatible with rplite 5/6/6P/6PP though because the splash screen is a bit dodgy but its a nice crash.
  13. oops it was ages ago i used pkunzip so i dont remeber it (win95) i just used to drag a zip file onto it and it would extract it for me i thought this was normal till i tried something else (some unzip32?) than i started using winimp http://www.technelysium.com.au/winimp.html (free) which allows you to create folder trees within the program than i found out about tugzip so now i have tugzip and winimp
  14. zdnet.com download.com cnet.com say it supports 98\me it appears that it *may* not work on 95 and nt4 where used to no support anyway its not like microsoft supports 9x so niether does winzip but it works which is the main thing
  15. Everest Ultimate Edition 3.50.761 --------[ PCI / PnP Audio ]----------------------------------------------------- Analog Devices AD1881A @ Intel 82801AA I/O Controller Hub - AC'97 Audio Adapter [b-1] PCI
  16. i mean unziping zip files with directories, the version i had i couldnt unzip files whcih had a directory structure without all the files going into the same folder dont know what version i was using
  17. an expiring feature whould be annoying, but then again you usually reinstall windows less than every 5 years. but i agree winzip is not that great, i have winzip 6.1 16bit still because that can be more useful than pkunzip (dos) which has not support for folders. Tugzip is probably the best because it supports so much.
  18. --------[ PCI / PnP Audio ]------------------------------------------------------ Intel 82801AA I/O Controller Hub - AC'97 Audio Adapter PCI is this what you mean? i actually have two computers with this soundcard onboard.
  19. Im having trouble finding a working driver for my sound card, according to everest this is what it is Intel 82801AA I/O Controller Hub - AC'97 Audio Adapter [b-1] Id prefer an official driver but at the moment i dont really care as long as it works because my driver currently has a problem it works for the 98 startup sound it works when playing files in vlc it does not work when playing files with wmp6.4/9 or mplayerc
  20. i dont think it will die too many people think its actually good like i did work experience at a local shop which only sell norton antivirus the manger said it was the best antivirus and the other person said norton antivirus will bog down your system a bit buts it protects you or works or something like that i didnt say anything though, i had to install it yuck!!!
  21. the secret of monkey island (monkey island 1) would have to be the best adventure game of all time i still think aoe2 is the best rts i probably consider ut as my favorite fps and i cant really say much for rpg, since ive only played diablo 1 but theres nothing wrong with it, there are only about 3 people on battle net though. but the best game changes from time to time because of what you feel like playing
  22. if you must know the mistake i didnt admit. i have an nt4 server and i have policies, so one day i made\edited the nt policy and managed to inflict the policy on the administrator acount which meant i couldnt logon and change the policy but than i resinstalled nt but made the mistake again, so i had to reinstall it again and now i have a ghost image. but recently i made another mistake (no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) anyway i was in a very linuxish mood so i ended up atempting to install ubuntu lite 1.1 as usuall i didnt pay much attention to the messages. but i tried to install anyway, i found that the cd was dodgy so i restarted and found out it had repartioned my c drive (NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) so i install windows i decide lets try 98se2me, and the sound card drivers so i install these files in it from this thing on drivers guide, restart you need to upgrade to dos 8 (NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) reinstall windows again and it keeps installing hard ware like com ports and stuff (huh ?????) anyway i install the network card and the sound card restart logon BSOD vxds (NO!!!!!!!!!!!) reinstall again now i havent installed the soundcard yet created a ghost image
  23. i thought ghost was developed by ghostsoft?
  24. i dont really use xppro, its just there for something that doesnt run on 98se or for testing ive already flashed the bios so that the maximun speed processor i can support is a 1Ghz procssor im planing to get 3 PIII 866Mhz Processors so i dont mind over clocking one to 1Ghz
