  1. What resolution are you trying to run at? That message is telling you that 1280x1024@60 is "native" for it and will produce the best results. You can get a blank screen and that message if you are running a resolution that the monitor cannot handle. Or a cable could be loose... [ moved to hardware forum ]
  2. That requires a new card. It is hardware-based physics acceleration. You probably shouldn't install the software if you don't have a card. I haven't read anything about it helping without the hardware. You would probably know if you had such a card
  3. Welcome To the both of you: please read the rules. Please pay special attention to the parts about advertising and signatures. I hope you enjoy this community!
  4. Why? That is what a forum is for Welcome! Do you have any other networking setup? It sounds as if you aren't using the internet at all with your current setup. If you have more network connections we might be able to try some things to isolate the problem. Also try disabling any unused adapters that show up in your control panel while we troubleshoot this. Did you try allen2's last suggestion? Check the device settings for both of the network adapters for any bad settings. Try another crossover or use a stright-thru with a hub or switch.

    HFSLIP Version Number

The topic has already been changed. I was hoping to spur some conversation about an appropriate versioning scheme for HFSLIP.
  6. Which one? Both?

Download the file again and replace the old file. You may also want to check the MD5 against Super-Magician's reference topic.
  8. BeyondUnreal has lots of running news and media updates about UT2007. I agree that the visuals are stunning
  9. Can you please call this something other than "The Final"? Every time I see that, my heart skips a beat because I think the project might be stopped. How about a version number? Something like 1.8 perhaps? 1 for the "major version" and 8 for the monthly "final" release? There are lots of ways this could go...anyone got some good ideas?
  10. Welcome back, glent. Looks like you haven't really been active since April. Hope everything is going OK for you. Glad to have you back
  11. You didn't say anything about checking NTFS permissions. Have you disabled Simple Filesharing? I think Takeshi's post was getting at this. Did you try a new profile? Have you tried remapping the drives? I'm not sure what is going on with your admin share at this point. After you turn off Simple Filsharing, remove the existing share and start a new one. The sharing and security tab of that share should reflect the user permissions you want to grant. Thanks for going wired. It really makes this stuff easier to work out the kinks first and then add the layer of complexity Win2K+ uses SMB over TCP port 445.Since we are having so much trouble pinpointing your problem you may also want to review some references while you wait for replies: http://www.theeldergeek.com/quick_guide_to...ile_sharing.htm http://www.homenethelp.com/web/howto/net.asp
  12. I don't think they will, but am not certain. They shouldn't. A DHCP Relay Agent is appropriate.
  13. You are talking about this URL, right? : http://hfslip.org/advanced.html That is a link to FDV's hosted file. Hopefully FDV and/or TC addresses this...@TC: Maybe the index at the top of that page should be links to the appropriate sections?
  14. ...and I thought you were just being grumpy
  15. Plenty of other apps have audio alerts. I would find the feature useful. I tend to multitask and lose track of the cmd window or leave the computer room altogether while it is running.
  16. Did you try setting the first scratch disk to E and the rest to NONE?
  17. The illustration should help. RogueSpear is right that your topology is a bit confusing.
  18. We are much more fun than TV! Welcome
  19. I'm excited to see an initiative like this. If it catches on, look for it to be included in cert exams soon afterward http://www.darkreading.com/document.asp?do...p;f_src=techweb
  20. This could be indicated in the answer file as well. Does a player need to be used? I thought "the system" would be able to play a .wav file on its own or with sndrec32.

    Codec slipstreaming

Thanks. That will make it easier for my creaky old brain to track what needs to be done here
  22. That nebulizer should fix you right up. They work miracles! Best of luck to you.
  23. How strong is your wireless strength? Have you tried a different channel? A dropped signal can cause odd client issues like this. The client PC logs don't reveal anything? If not, change your auditing to reflect these connectivity issues.
  24. I changed some potentially sensitive information to XXX.
  25. @TC: You have some options there. Try a Live CD that has the browser you want or this screenshot-generating site.
