I'm not sure that he's revealed that info in a public arena...so I'll let him answer (or not) that. But I will say that he lives approximately 1,300 miles from me

RE: the rule It was a joke. I know where cluberti lives. He and I both know that he can't come get it.

That tool does enable the use of regular expressions. But such an expression is beyond my knowledge of RegEx, if it is even possible...I Googled around for a while to find prior art but had no luck. The only things that came close were python/perl/etc scripts, not regular expressions. And perhaps what I'm asking for isn't really feasible with RegEx. I didn't see any RegExs that were capable of searching multiple drives and recursive directories to match * keywords. But surely someone has written a program to do such a thing before...

How to convert, download and save online videos
tain replied to Inferi0r's topic in Networks and the Internet
@Inferi0r: here are some updates: The Orbit link in the first post isn't working...should be http://www.orbitdownloader.com/ HeyWatch! apparently costs money. MediaConverter requires registration. Zamzar has another URL for YouTube: http://zamzar.com/url/ Zamzar requires that you input your email address. Vixy.net and FLvix.com both have issues...the sites are up, but they provide inconsistent service. (Connecting to the server...) FLvix.com appears to be doing better than vixy.net. -
Stability is an issue, huh? I've had more stability issues with explorer.exe over the years than with any of the alternate file managers I've ever tried.

A full-time keyboard jockey, huh? I'll bet you know more keyboard shortcuts than I've ever even heard of I highly recommend the vertical mouse. They recently released the "version 2" mouse and I like it even better that the old model. This new one has a "bumpy" mousewheel and eliminated a very annoying hardware bug. You can have my old mouse if you come pick it up

I'd like to find a tool that will find *similar* files. I have several tools that are great for finding dupes (usually based on file size or CRC) but I'm interested in more of a "fuzzy" search. Something that searched all folders/files and returned filenames that contained the same 2-3 keywords would probably do the trick. This way I can find folders/files/archives that may be stored on different drives. Perhaps the folders in question are different versions of driver packages or even old zip backups of folders. This way i can clean out some of the cobwebs of so may years of computing and upgrading HDDs I'm sure a regular expression could do this, but a tool with a nice GUI would be much easier to work with for a large number of results. Any suggestions?

My question was really about general PC usage. Gaming wasn't really my focus...but I brought it up anyway. Do you use a mouse with your keyboard? Most of us older guys do! Although these days I use an Evoluent Vertical Mouse because it is easier on my wrist.

Here's another project along the same lines: http://blog.last.fm/2007/08/29/audio-finge...-clean-metadata

BF2 UT2004 Empire Earth ...but I don't play games very often these days.
-
Excellent distinction! Thanks for the correction

Yeah, that makes sense (except diet has no sugar). My previous line of thought was that you preferred one over the other. I haven't met many folks who don't like *any* soda. That is downright un-American!
-
Yeah, that would be great. Just so happens that there is news about this today!

Well none of what we're talking about comes cheap. But I mean that my 3x 17" screens likely cost less per pixel than your two larger screens. Not sure about the framerate. I've never bothered to check as I've never been able to perceive the tearing/ghosting that many other gamers complain about. Guess I'm lucky in that My video card is a GeForce 7600 and it has beautifully driven every game I've tried to play. Though not all games can span the three screens.

Neither of those is what I was trying to ask for...sorry if my question was confusing. Both of those are storage devices that can plug into different ports. I'm looking for a cable/converter that can plug into SD on one end and USB on the other...effectively converting both ports to the other type of port. No data storage involved here. Just the ability to transfer data between the ports.

Not sure I follow you there. So...you prefer diet or regular?

The term for such things was "cantenna" (can + antenna) in the past, but I don't follow it anymore.

No previews of anything? Just download packs?

I am happy to report that I've been using my Th2Go with an NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS for quite some time now and am very happy with the results. Thanks for all the advice! There are two sites I like with multi-monitor / widescreen gaming news: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/...x.php/Main_Page http://www.realtimesoft.com/multimon/

That first link works fine for me None of these links are proof of anything. Just food for thought so that people like myself who might overdo it can be aware of the potential hazards. Do you have any idea how much soda the average American drinks? It is insane.

I'm sure that 2x widescreens are better than 3x standard screens....but mine is likely more cost effective. Plus, FPS games put the crosshair in the middle display instead of right between two monitors. UT2004 is awesome across all three displays

Sometimes the transfers don't complete and they requre several attempts. I suspect the problem may have more to do with my finicky server than TeraCopy. I'll get off my butt and troubleshoot it one of these days
