  1. ?Should be included - 2K3 SP1 Fixes - R2 is just an "upgrade" of the (older) 2k3...
  2. Nope... according to one of the downloads, the Win9x files are different from the Win2k ones. What do you mean "weren't compatible"? BTW, have you tried booting to "Safe Mode" and uninstalling all of the related Hardware entries in Device Manager? And curious - you mentioned "antivirus" and "antispyware" - do they perchance block/delete anything related? (which products mentioned?)
  3. You mean this? How did you manage to integrate, i.e. nLite integrates using INF files and NOT "programs"? Does it indeed include drivers for your MoBo? edit - and it appears to use DP (Driver Packs) from here. Have you tried getting them from the OFFICIAL site (the link)?
  4. "windows 2000 support ends july 13 2010" The last (AFAIK) one available was Nov2009; I have August2009. Many links were "broken" and the MD5's were incorrect. Nobody there kept it up to date. At AutoPatcherDOTcom there is a thread suggesting a possible solution using the ITA version, but very time consuming and error-prone. Best bet is to use what was suggested above.
  5. Bad teeth, can't afford dentist, hurts, have temp custody two Grandchildren... Ga-RUM-pee!!! ARRR, maties!

  6. First, this is the wrong subforum - you need the nLite subforum. Second, try looking here for some information on how-to. Last, did you browse around here at all???
  7. 1 - Are you trying to install FROM the USB or are you trying to install TO the USB? 2 - to quote jaclaz - WintoFlash has their OWN Forum for problems. Have you tried OUR recommended methods for installing FROM USB?Here is a Tutorial on how to install TO a USB...
  8. ??? Fernando, I believe SATA/RAID drivers usually have BOTH a TXTSETUP.OEM AND an INF file... The INF file CAN be used to integrate using nLite.
  9. I believe Kel meant the ORIGINAL installation of the OS, and NOT the Service Pack. (just posting to avoid confusion)Please provide Magic with what's requested.
  10. I just don't see how... I asked THREE questions, which you did NOT answer and indicated a FOURTH (too late to use) solution. Better brush up on the RBnnn.CAB usage - those are REGISTRY backups that are "rotated" through the numbers ("nnn") at each OS Boot. Once you pass the number of "Backup Count Kept" they "drop off" the "list", hence "TOO LATE TO USE". Go to that folder and look "inside" one of them and you'll see what I mean. e.g. Count Kept=2 First Boot - RB000.CAB created Second Boot - RB001.CAB created Third Boot - RB002.CAB created, RB000.CAB DELETED (count to keep is TWO) ---and so on until RB999.CAB, in which case RB000.CAB reappears--- Now... for YOUR (before you extracted from the 98-CAB) WinME "Explorer.exe" Seems that you used some "Unofficial" updates (question #1), right or wrong?
  11. Look here. Just un-RAR them into that folder (note - the name in that file are the DOS Short Names). Direct link from MS for the Install. Don't know whether it will or not as these are strictly 32-bit and not really designed for anything other than Win9x. Note - also adds registry entries, so BE AWARE and make SURE you are backed up.
  12. Did you look at the links I gave? Two or three have Modem Drivers which might be newer than what's on the CD. Have you tried the NUSB3 (USB port) drivers found here on MSFN?
  13. Did you get stuck in "Timeline" (it REEKS!)?
  14. Wiki-Wiki... Your "MP4" file would not play with the MS Codecs probably because the format is newer than the MS implementation, hence the need for FFDSHOW/Nero Codecs. Wiki - WMP may help you to understand why you need other software/codecs for WMP9 for Win9x... This explains MP9/MP10 for XP/etc. So... depends on how it's ENCODED in order to DECODE it... edit (what you downloaded from MS) - edit (again) - did you ever look here which has a link to here? edit (last time, I promise) - you're problem has been solved, correct? Please mark this topic as such...
  15. Did you answer that question?...and note this statement Did you do any "swapping"? I do note that you did this: Do you have this or not? It would make no sense that it wouldn't exist.edit - and in "WINDOWS\SYSBCKUP" there is a set of files named "RBnnn.CAB" that is/WAS a backup of your Registry files, etc BEFORE it "failed". Too late for that now...
  16. ??? All you needed for WMP was the Codecs... (In addition to UN-setting QT playing them - btw "Open With" should have allowed ANY valid Player for any given TYPE to play, providing the Codecs are installed.) Google -"Media Player 9" MP4- would have told you that... edit - FFDSHOW installs (AFAIK) the Codecs, BTW...
  17. Unless I misunderstand... One is EXPLORER.EXE (the WinME version, apparently from an Unofficial Update?) and the other is EXPLORER.SCF, the contents being [Shell] Command=2 IconFile=explorer.exe,1 [Taskbar] Command=Explorer If you reboot to Safe Mode, Command Prompt and copy it to a TXT file this is what would/should be in it. Again, I believe you have boogered something in the Registry. There should be THREE instances of EXPLORER.* - the third being EXPLORER.LGC (in Windows\Applog folder). This is the contents - { o d3cbe300 29d10 "C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE" <snip> o d3cb91d0 62600 "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHLWAPI.DLL" <snip> o d3cb9300 4404f "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSVCRT.DLL" <snip> o d3ca6cc0 1ccf "C:\WINDOWS\WIN.INI" <snip> o d3cb9490 155110 "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHELL32.DLL" <snip> o d3cc0b80 147400 "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCVW.DLL" <snip> o d3cbc110 f8800 "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\BROWSEUI.DLL" <snip> o d3cb96a0 be110 "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\OLE32.DLL" <snip> } I'm not sure what everything means (hashes/header info? "snipped" the irrelevant lines), BUT, I can assure you that those that list a filename MUST exist AND be the correct version for the EXPLORER.EXE that you are/WAS using (the WinME one). Otherwise, you WILL have failures. And you STILL didn't say... Want more help? Answer ALL questions, please... (betting you have REPLACED one of the above with an incorrect version).Addendum - the EXPLORER.EXE Parameters.
  18. Look at this. Same exact messages (see the link to KB article therein).
  19. C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE /n,/e,C:\And... you didn't say which version of Explorer. You may have a corrupted Registry as well. One may beg the question - did you do any "updates" (official/unofficial)? Or any registry "fiddling" to make something work? (Hint - the REGISTRY settings that worked before you "fiddled" are/were in CAB files.)
  20. 1 - I noticed in your other topic/problem that you indicated XP Home SP1 via USB (and never said whether it worked or not) and the same statement "from VISTA to Windows Xp Home". Question - Did you completely remove Vista? If not, then you may be having problems with any variety of things. Also did you SlipStream SP3 into it? 2 - There is no reason that XP Pro Drivers (from the HP Website - the only "version" available) should be causing problems. You should tell us which driver is causing "problems" (usually "compatible"). You do not tell enough about symptoms to get help from us. You should also slipstream SP3 to your Home SP1 and do not use anything other than Drivers (not the QFE's - one specifically says "SP2") to start with. Then try the other "Software" (not the QFE's).
  21. MSFN add-ons sub-forum. Some info and a tool to help find them (referenced to nLite add-ons). Which "some apps" are you talking about? You can right-click on it, select "properties" and find out what TYPE of installer which will usually tell which SWITCH SET to use.
  22. Yes, but you'll have to find suitable drivers. I had a Riva TNT2 M64 and played good-time getting the correct drivers. No longer have it though, so can't tell where I got it from. Errr - look here (english) and select "Legacy" in the first pull-down and go from there.
  23. (sigh...) OK, I'll bite... Speedtouch? (which one?)Is it one of those "frog/mouse/stingray"-looking things like this? It's the ONLY thing I can find searching for "usb alcatel dsl modem". another reference Here's a reference you may not like (scroll down to it). So.... Is this the one and do you have the drivers for it?Drivers for THAT model (whichever one it is - look at the bottom of it) may be here. Wiki-Wiki... DriverGuide list BellSouth lists <-newer than yours? DSLDepot Drivers <-other files + newer than yours? A reference indicating USB2.0 or "freezes"... I really don't know EXACTLY what you have, but there are indications that the driver you are using is also too old in addition to not using it on a USB 2.0 port. BTW, you DO have a ISP (e.g. AT&T) account you're using this with, right? Get this PDF file (the -OMG- Manual for the stingray thingy) and look at page 9. You also need a "splitter/filter" in addition to a Service Provider account. In addition, it APPEARS that the SpeedTouch 330 (looks more like an old mouse than a stingray) is also USB. LOOK under the unit and tell what it actually is for more help.
