  1. JEEZ, dude! Loblo has no problem with FileZilla (which I have NEVER used)... I have no problem with V1.73 (NOT v1.72) of FlashGet (which you apparently refuse to use). And it DOES NOT use ANY of the FTP software from the OS... IT USES IT'S OWN CODE!!! How about I attach a complete list of folder/file/date/size and you just get what's missing? Why are you making this such a chore??? edit - attaching a zipped list - last 2 columns are MD5 / SHA-1 Reskit_Index.zip
  2. Hmmm... Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but after a night's sleep, I also note that the screen shot has "LESSIME.HTM" (translated "README.HTM"). This indicates that a Language Interface Pack for French was used on that "SP2". See this. And this. In addition, the Updates listed on -X-' website are English, not to mention that you MIGHT have integrated French SP3 into it (?).And on THAT note... Good luck with your "own CD"...
  3. 1 - Can't be signed on with same user/password simultaneously on both. You need UserA+UserB on both, and sign on with A on one and B on the other. That's what the "Shared Folder" is for. 2 - Have you tried this (also applies to Win7)? A nice article. More info. This subject has been around for a while. Searching MSFN would undoubtedly yield even more (with further details). I gave you Google "finds" for the sake of expediency. Even worse is the fact that you can access 95 and 98 from 7 but NOT XP! Another more detailed article. HTH
  4. "seriale.txt"??? I'd say that you'd BETTER not even suggest the "source" of your CD... REMOVE THAT FILE FROM SOURCE (unless you really want to keep it on the CD). As for the $OEM$ folder, you did "other-than" just Driver Integration (i.e. SlipStream the SP3) AND undoubtedly used the "OEM" Options in the Unattended section. If you had manually slipped and did no other tweaking whatsoever, that folder would not have existed. That file's sole purpose is to "jump start" the other "functions". Willing to bet you'll also see a folder called "NLDRV" in the "I386" folder. That's where nLite might have placed them. "Extra INI" files? PLEASE don't tell me you ran nLite against an nLited source!!!! You MUST start with a FRESH copy of the CD EACH TIME!!! Not feeling so good right now BUT I will tell you this - if you 1 - Copy your FULL CD Contents to a Created Folder on your C-Drive (say, "C:\NLITEXP") 2 - REMOVE the TXT file "in question" from the folder - keep it as you need what's inside it. 3 - Start a NEW nLite Session (do NOT load a previous session), pointing to the NLITEXP folder (click "Next" for two screens) 4 - On "Task Selection" click "NONE", then click BOTH "Service Pack" AND "Drivers" AND "Create ISO" (click "Next") 5 - In "Service Pack", point to the SP3 file (click "Next") 6 - In "Drivers" select all of your drivers as you did last time (click "Next") 7 - In "Create Iso" point to ANYWHERE but NLITEXP folder and give ISO a name, (say, "C:MYXPSP3.ISO") (click "Next") When done, you're NLITEXP folder will be "clean" containing NO OEM folder, SP3 Integrated, an NLDRV folder with your Drivers, a number of "modified as-of the nLite run" INF and IN_ files (these are the ones modified for the Drivers), a NEW NLITE.IN_ file (to allow for additional functions, e.g. running a "helper")and ONLY TWO INI Files in the Root. There will ALSO be the ISO file created and ready to be "burned" (a bootable ISO EXACTLY like the NLITEXP folder contents). This ISO will perform/install EXACTLY like a "standard" SP3 (all steps required to Install, including "Enter Key", etc) FULLY ATTENDED, with the exception that ALL DRIVERS will also be integrated. Why do I suggest this? Unless you are more familiar with Integration and nLite (an Integrator Helper), then you may be just confusing yourself (and others). Optional - In Step#4 - go to here (READ it) and get ONLY the Updates (DO NOT Integrate WMP11 or IE7 or IE8 at this time - you will get even MORE confused) - BEFORE clicking "next", SORT the HotFixes by Ascending Date. This step will get you fully up-to-date as-of the date specified. NO OPTIONALS are provided (i.e. "Add-ons"). Also browse through the nLite screenshots to get a better idea. This is highly likely, as the dates of the previous INI files are "2058" (unless your System Date is screwed up). Also, I note (now that I look closer) that you'r missing a couple of folders. So, on that note... That's all the help you get here.... (silly me... as I said... tired... KEL!)
  5. ??? If you had noticed, this is "in process"... Remember, that this project is BETA.
  6. Nope - note those particular ones. I believe they might also be on the VS6 (?) CD's as well. See this (April 2001 - even more different sizes).Just out of curiosity, do you expect that "more info" will be in the MSDN 2001 set(s)? I have access to the MSDN Oct 2001 but, why bother? edit - MSDN Library Wiki
  7. Yup! Bad Caps (look here - www.badcaps.net). Chipsets (or a single Chip Name) on a given "chip" on any given piece of hardware (MoBo, Sound Card, etc) helps to identify WHAT it is (almost) EXACTLY for the purpose of finding Correct Drivers, in addition to using the Registry to determine what the VID/PID values are to get EXACTLY (and NOT "almost") the right Driver.
  8. Odd... the ProductName is in English for the first and German for the second. Appears to be consistent otherwise. Slipstream appears to be the same as yours. I'm thinking (but not really sure) that there has to be consistency between that and the "product.ini" contents. I believe that there may be a CASE problem in the XML vs the PRODUCT.INI values. Here's what I have for SP1 (all versions) - WIM Information: ---------------- Path: g:\sources\install.wim GUID: {0885f6cd-494f-4b68-90b6-3be5d5329ce1} Image Count: 7 Compression: LZX Part Number: 1/1 9. I wonder what "plugin" you're using with FF. I only see one for WMP11 (when attempting to "play" it). And this indicate that WMP10 doesn't work with it. In addition, the website here yields no results. However, I found this and the link to the download that also indicates WMP11. Where did you get it from? Using the same FF version, BTW. And have no answer for Opera (don't use it).
  10. Imagex.exe /info x:\Sources\install.wim(where x=your DVD drive) There's probably a lot of info here on MSFN, but for expediency I give you this. You may have very well used a bad Index value. Basically, you simply START with the first Image (the Target WIM #1) and "export" the other three incrementing from the first, i.e. the FIRST (Target) is #1, the first MERGED one is #2, and so on. Disclaimer - I haven't yet tried any of this as I am still working on other people's pc's, but believe this to be correct. edit - I believe the "-info" simply displays the contents of the "[1].xml" file within "install.wim" (can be opened with Freeware 7-zip) and each # value is what corresponds to the [1] folder, the [2] folder, etc. Also, there should be corresponding "Edition" literals inside the "product.ini" file in the "sources" folder. I also note that (in mine - have the "full" dvd) I have a corresponding "something.clg" files in "sources". HTH
  11. (sigh...) that could be part of the problem. Go here and follow instructions closely to use nLite with the pre-slipstreamed (manual method) Pro SP3 and include all updates - Do not slip WMP11 and do slipstream IE8 according to instructions given. Other MS software (e.g. dotNet) and non-MS should theoretically stay "in place".
  12. One might ask - what do you have the Paging File ("Virtual Memory") value set to? Control Panel-> System-> Advanced-> Performance-> Advanced (I believe it's the same as XP - "let Windows Decide" is the Default and if set too low will cause problems that you are experiencing.)
  13. LOL again (heh...)! Hand-held magnifiers - $5 (sometimes with a small light on it) plus small flashlight = able to see stuff... Chipset names, etc... POWER DISCONNECTED, natch.
  14. Nuh-uh... no problem with FG173. Might I suggest you Upgrade to the OldApps version I posted, disable the said BHO module, and get the FF Add-On I suggested (not Opera Compatible? don't know...). I have absolutely no problem whatsoever (FF 3.6.28 on an XP-type system). Point of interest - I'm not sure if the "Add-On" you are using would work on newer FF or if the one I suggested would work on your version of FF...The folder in question makes no difference to "name" - they both point to THE SAME FOLDER CONTENTS (r vs. R is an "alternate server pointer")! Obviously a "bug" in your FGv172 that was fixed. The contents is actually within the "R-" folder (which is the only one I have showing) and the total files/folders is 2382/91 and is an "extracted" CD-ROM image (notice the Autorun.inf?). HTH...
  15. @bphlpt - yes...typo... that's the one I have (and now including the other two... the "older" being the FileHippo one and BTW, the same differences apply except additionally Flashget.exe is even smaller/older).
  16. One might ask... How did you do it? (Link to how-to or a step-by-step explanation would do). Sounds like a file(s) were not modified/merged.
  17. ??? The links I provided specifically state This would correspond to the Size of the Displayed Thumbnail. The Other Value (as vinifera pointed out) is described as So... "255" would apparently cause a VERY LARGE Thumbnail to display, thus reducing the number of Thumbnails displayed in the RIGHT PANE (i.e. "per page"). True or not???
  18. For FireFox FlashGet Add-On - FlashGot (I have v1.2.1.18) Apparently there are multiple v1.73 Build 128 - the OldApps version is almost identical to the one I use, the difference being "getflash.dll" (mine is newer 09/12/2006 vs 07/07/2006 and bigger) and "jchchs.ini" (chinese language support - mine is newer and bigger). No advertising whatsoever - the Google Toolbar might be installed (stealth-like) but can be uninstalled. There is, however, a "black box" in the upper right where adverts used to be. No registration. I would say that mine might be the last "fixed" version, as I got it when it still existed on their webpage when it became "free" and the v8.x versions came along (?). Mine is 3,224,263 bytes (much larger due to newer Google and the noted files - dated at download 11/22/2006). Apparently "GetFlash.DLL" is a BHO (I disabled mine in "Manage Add-Ons" - don't remember when) and is (maybe?) used for checking newer versions (can be "turned off" in Options). Using ResHacker reveals two BitMaps in OldApps one (both Chinese) and 4 in mine (both English). Also in the "Manage Add-ons" is the Flashget Toolbar (really unnecessary - allows for it to show up in IE ToolBar) and the Browser Extension (to allow for right-click - "Download"). I have no clue how to get rid of the "black box". Also, did a "test" of Universal Extractor on it/them - they might function without the Installer (didn't do any more than "start" it up).OK, that's all I know. End of line... edit - Here it states
  19. By all means, do that! Your Topic, you get to edit it.
  20. ...right at the top of this page. p.s. - this more or less means ANY issue. It appears that the CD was created improperly. addendum - turn off AHCI in the BIOS (set it to IDE mode) for the SATA drives (no need for SATA drivers).
  21. Hmmm... try this. More info telling the Reg values. Disclaimer - never used it. Use at your own risk.
  22. Not all C-Media drivers are created equal. I played heck finding the right ones for an add-in PCI. The one linked to above may/may not work... You should be able to confirm exactly what it is by going into the Registry Start->Run->(enter "regedit")->HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ENUM\PCI\ and find the VEN_DEV value (beneath that you will find the descriptions - find the C-Media one). Post the complete Ven_Dev string that you find...
  23. BAHAHAHAH!!!! Jaclaz is going to have fun with this one! First, the Rotation Speed is a factor. Second, the Buffer Size is a factor. Third, UDMA is a factor. Fourth, Bus Speed is a factor. Fifth, CPU Speed is a factor. AUS is not the "leading factor" for I/O Speed. Basically, "it all depends"... ...and more (I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong).
  24. 1 - No it is NOT the "Site Explorer" - there's one WITHIN FlashGet. 2 - FlashGet v1.73 is the one I use. No special "extras", no "ads", yada-yada. Real "clean". I really don't know if it's Vista-compatible (I currently use Pre-Vista OS). Those "concerns" apparently have to do with newer versions. I've been using it for, well, YEARS!!! And not one single "concern"... edit - BTW, look here for the Change log... edit2 - another download link - claims Vista Compatibility (still unsure if on an x64 OS) edit3 - NOPE!!!! no INI even close to that. Apparently it was the SUCCESSOR versions that has that "hole". USE IT! It's safe! P.S. Don't believe everything until you investigate thoroughly. Final note here - HTH...
  25. 1a - SESP3 Beta 4 is just that... Beta! 1b - Do you have WDM drivers installed or VXD drivers for your sound? DOS Games uses an even different method for accessing Sound Card (nether WDM or VXD). 2 - No clue..., but have you checked your Video and Monitor Drivers? (see below...) 3 - This is not a "Members Project" problem. AFAIK, the SESP3 doesn't install "additional" drivers, only the "standard" drivers. Have you checked in Device Manager for functionality for your Sound Card (either Add-In or On-MoBo)? Do MP3's play? Do Audio CD's play?
