I think you misunderstand that section of the website - http://www.nliteos.com/addons/ That is a file YOU create and put into a CAB/ZIP/7ZIP file (compressed) along with whatever is needed for an ADD-ON (e.g. Software/Drivers etc) and "inserted" into the nLite process. Do a google on nlite "addons" site:msfn.orgto get an idea. Otherwise, if you are NOT using AddOns, it's irrelevant. That's why it's called "ADDONS". HTH

(uggg!!! NO not "Uggs", Mods ) You need to go to this Sub-Forum and do some "light" reading. Here (the Official Website) you will find a wealth of information. As for the double-backslash, there's a REASON based on the coding of the WPI modules. Basically, don't ask just follow instructions and when you get into trouble using it post a new topic over in the Sub-Forum I listed above. Please note (JFYI) that WPI can be run from CD/DVD or HDD either Directly or Silently (etc etc) and that the "path" you used was an EXAMPLE and there's a certain way/folders to place the Programs-To-Be-Installed according to instructions (see links given). Is that supposed to be a DATA+POWER Interface?I supplied an actual photo. Can't make a simple diagram? The DriverGuide link I gave will download a "downloader" (nothing installs) which you run and deselect crapware and decline stupidstuff. A ZIP file will wind up "somewhere" named "PCMCIA_2K.zip" for PCMCIA (how about that "gazinta" flowchart). As for the PCMCIA on the Lappie, it's probably under a cover and contains the Wireless Card. Addendum - nope - just looked and it's "not compatible with older PCMCIA". How about a pcmcia-to-usb adapter (pretty cheap) but your "Card" (part of the Travelstar) is probably 16-bit (OLD) so be aware. ALSO as I said, the Win2K drivers will probably work (unknown) BUT usually 2K drivers will work on XP and I've worked around an XP Driver for Vista/Win7. For that matter, get those 2K drivers and force an Install without connecting anything to see if it "works". I've installed NIC's that way even if they didn't physically exist. I'm seriously confused. OEM 3 CD's - you MUST mean that TWO of them are the MCE2005 and the THIRD one is a set of Drivers/Apps. You CAN'T integrate SP3 easily. You MUST download the FULL Package and install it AFTER the MCE2005 Install. And YES, the links give a "workaround" to slipstream and preserve the MCE2005 (v3.0). I haven't tried it because I installed SP3 to a "recovered image" of my Dell which, BTW, is a single DVD (instead of two CD's) and it affected nothing. There IS a way to combine the 2-CD's to one DVD. The THIRD one can be integrated according to what is SUPPOSED to be installed for YOUR PC from the Third. We have no clue as to the contents of the third. How are the CD's marked as to what they are? Bet they're as I described it. edit - nLite will combine the TWO CD's and as for the OTHER CD, it all depends on which Apps/Drivers you need. After that, you will need MCE-2005 MS Fixes UNLESS you do the manual SP3 trick first. The thing about SP3 is it was badly built for MCE and won't slipstream BUT will recognize MCE2005 after install.

AFAICT, still boils down to Install PreActivated via a KEY in SYSPREP.INF (OEM or VOLume, NOT retail) and perhaps WINBOM.INI (Factory?). Basically REQUIRES that Source is NOT Retail (again AFAICT) and a SYSPREP-style Install (WinPE). At least, this is my understanding (digging through DELL Restore Partition inside the IMAGE on it). HOW? Not really sure YET, but indicates what YOU want to do is via (perhaps/maybe) a WinPE-based CD/DVD install. (yeah, I've been digging into SYSPREP for my own purposes...)

Are your problems related to Server 2003? Found this that indicates New Userid (as specified above) and PERMISSIONS on the Target Machine. The UserID has to be on the LOCAL machine as an ADMINISTRATOR and have Full Permissions (apparently). If (i say IF) that works, then I would recommend that AFTER the Installations succeed, the Permissions be REMOVED and the UserID deleted (cleanup). I don't have this problem as I don't run Server for anything but IIS (web server) and do everything Locally from an Admin (THE RENAMED ADMIN) account.
