  1. try to create the dump as soon as possible when you see the error on the screen.
  2. I can't see any Explorer.exe process in the dump. when have you created the dump?
  3. I can't download the file:
  4. ok, I asked a bit and it seems that you need to create a full dump with the CrashOnCtrlScroll way: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/130005-creating-memory-dumps/
  5. ok, I'll create a new ISO and test it again
  6. create a new trace if you think it is still too slow.
  7. @Tusticles will you ever release a 8.1 compatible RP Theme?
  8. no, you still get hotfixes for Vista because Server 2008 is still in Mainstream support. Example: Noncritical disk volumes are included incorrectly in the system state backup image when you use the -allCritical option in Windows Vista SP2 or Windows Server 2008 SP2 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2895635/en-us
  9. the store only works with an MS account. If Apps close, check this: What to do if your Windows 8 Modern App fails to start http://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2013/10/11/what-to-do-if-your-windows-8-modern-app-fails-to-start.aspx
  10. Here is an article that shows that Win8 caused a larger drop PC sales: Windows 8 and the Cost of Complexity http://stratechery.com/2014/windows-8-cost-complexity/
  11. WinLogoninit is slow and the longest part here is WaitForLSM (Local Session Manager). I have no idea why this is so slow. Try a different AV suite and not Bitdefender.
  12. the 3770k does support VT-x, but Hyper-V sucks completely. Use VMware Player or Virtualbox instead.
  13. have you used the 8.0 or 8.1 WPT to capture the trace?
  14. I don't have the option to unlock the drive when do a rightclick on the HDD. The integration of Bitlocker worked fine without any errors.
  15. I have no idea. Try the 32Bit CMD Workaround.
  16. ah, ok, I'll check for updates and create a new ISO.
  17. ok, I've disabled the autostart of PENetwork and the error is gone. I also selected to autostart all driver, which makes boot slower, but I now have mouse and touch support. I checked the device manager and got a lot of errors that the devices can't be started because of certificate issues. The only thing I need now is bitlocker support. In 8.1 the disk gets autoencrypted on a tablet when using an MS account. This is my main motivation to create a Win8.1PE, to get data from the device If I can't boot the tablet with the normal installed 8.1. // Edit: 5,555 posts
  18. I tested the installer in a fresh VM and it works.
  19. where is the link?
  20. yes, boot is a bit better but still slow (60s to desktop and 90s to be fully booted): - <timing bootDoneViaExplorer="62430" bootDoneViaPostBoot="103730" The PreSMSS is now down to 19s: + <interval name="PreSMSS" startTime="0" endTime="19794" duration="19794">But your HDD is still slow and busy all the time. There is a firmware update for your ST2000DM001-9YN164, maybe this makes it a bit faster: http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/223651en but the only fix is to buy a SSD. This eliminates the HDD bottleneck.
  21. zip and upload the ETL file.
  22. the Rdbss.sys is slow to start. <phase name="systemStart" startTime="20896" endTime="55351" duration="34456"> <pnpObject name="rdbss" type="Driver" activity="Load" startTime="24016" endTime="54986" duration="30970" prePendTime="30970" /> install the 3 updates linked in the KB page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2775511 Also run the optimization again. I see a lot of black (cache misses).
