  1. I still see the requestCredentials delay: Have you tried AutoLogon.exe?
  2. Build 17031 is the RTM version o the Update will be released next week.
  3. remove NOD32 completely and give me a new trace (with the last command I posted)
  4. I hate him for spreading this myth: http://chris.pirillo.com/speed-up-windows-startup-with-a-processor-tweak/
  5. Please update from Version 6.0.316.0 of NOD32 to the latest version 7.0.302.26 and look if this improves boot. I see a 10s delay after the file C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\x86\eplgOE.dll is loaded.
  6. capture a new trace with this command: xbootmgr -trace boot -traceFlags BASE+LATENCY+DISK_IO_INIT+DISPATCHER+FILE_IO+FILE_IO_INIT+FILENAME+POWER -stackwalk profile+CSwitch+ReadyThread -resultPath C:\TEMP zip and upload the new file.
  7. type in the password faster or use AutoLogon to logon automatically http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/sysinternals/bb963905.aspx Is it faster?
  8. RequestCredentials takes some time: Do you use a local or Microsoft (online) Account?
  9. yes it is the large file. Compress it als 7z/RAR to reduce the size. It is the WinLogonInit which is 30s: + <interval name="WinlogonInit" startTime="7813" endTime="38049" duration="30236">
  10. should we download the RC again? Please add version information to filename. Currently you have no idea if the downloaded version is correct ore not.
  11. I've already posted those DISM improvements 2 years ago here on msfn.
  12. nice to hear that it is fixed
  13. Windows boots in 10s to the UI and is fully booted in 12.8s: - <timing bootDoneViaExplorer="10682" bootDoneViaPostBoot="22782" This trace only traced the old school boot. Run this for the new Win8 FastBoot: xbootmgr -trace fastStartup -noPrepReboot -traceFlags BASE+CSWITCH+DRIVERS+POWER+LATENCY+DISPATCHER+FILE_IO+FILENAME -stackwalk profile+CSwitch+ReadyThread -resultPath C:\TEMP

  18. by default? Or what do you have to do to enable it?
  19. no, there is no other fix. Your Seagate Momentus 5400.6 500GB (ST9500325AS) is very slow. Replace the HDD with the 120GB Samsung 840 Evo for 90$ (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W01AZ5378), buy HDD caddy, remove the DVD drive and put the caddy + your old HDD in the slot of the old DVD drive. Install Win7+ important programs on the SSD and store all data on the HDD.
