Hi Gunnar, that's because MS changed some settings of the AutoUnattended.XML. vLite creates the old Vista Settings and now Setup fails. Install the RC WAIK to see the changes.
this DOESN'T WORK! You have to to it with the reverse Integration method: http://www.winbeta.org/comments.php?catid=1&id=9536 First install the Sp1, next install the Sp2 and then sysprep and capture it into a new Install.wim!
install Windows 7 RC in a VHD side-by-side to your Vista Sp1 and test it Here is the guide how to do this: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=129475
I can't use VirtualPc to install Windows Vista. I've always get error messages. I gave it up. And I also got a Bugcheck 0x136 on my host Windows 7 where I hosted the VHD with a message "not enough free space". How much free space must I have on the host to boot a Windows 7 from a VHD?
I have an University Internet Access: Download: 279.620 kbit/s = 34.953 kByte/s Upload: 3.432 kbit/s = 429 kByte/s http://www.wieistmeineip.de/taf/result.php...53cae03053ba732
is it possible to install Vista to a VHD when I first boot from Win7 DVD and create the VHD from setup and attach it, now reboot and start Vista Setup? Will Vista recognize the VHD as a hdd partition?
removing any component will break SP Installation. Install Sp2 in Audit mode, sysprep and capture it into a new install.wim and use this WIM as your source
To help you, we must know the correct error message. If you got an error about WAIK, read this this: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=127712
with the apply button you start the process of vLiting your Vista. On the next page you have to select if you want to rebuild your ISO to only keep the 1 Edition or on Apply your options to the 1 Edition but keep all other Editions on the DVD.
