  1. where do you want to save the ISO?
  2. @yolarrydabomb read my sticky post: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=127712
  3. always keep such important thing like Firewall, Update and UAC and if you don't want to use them DISABLE them.
  4. I think you also have to remove mediaPreview with vLite. Because the MediaPreview depends on WMP and you did't remove it this may cause your issues.
  5. did you run the cleanup tool provided by the SP2?
  6. try it again without removing Windows Firewall, Windows Update and UAC
  7. files of Microsoft-Windows-MediaMetadataHandler is missing. So don't delete the MediaPlayer
  8. Use this guide as an help: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=128042 And make your own experiences what you can remove or not.
  9. download the Win7 WAIK, there is a documentation included. Most parts of Firegeirs tutortial should also work with Windows 7.
  10. you should post your Last Session.ini. Mostly this is caused by removing WLAN
  11. yes open the file "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" and post all ERROR Messages you find.
  12. could you please copy the file "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" to your documents folder and search for error messages and post them here?
  13. you can add the shudown.exe to the firstlogincommand tag insdie your unattended.xml.
  14. I don't use the DVD to boot. I've converted the WIM to a VHD with WIM2VHD and now I would like to check if there is an existing Os install like WinXP or WinVista. If such an OS is detected the Bootmanager should be updated to the Win7 Bootmanager so that I can add the VHD file. On Technet I only found a way to completely clean the partition

    vlite error

hmm, why should this be the cause? I also have UAC on and don't have errors.
  16. do you get error messages when trying to start those applications? Could you please post them? If this doesn't help follow the things I've posted here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=861558
  17. the OS where you install the WAIK can be WinXP or Vista.
  18. for WPI look here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=93 here is an article how to use WPI in Vista Setup: http://sereby.org/index.php?cat=vista/progs (Use translator to read it) What doesn't work with the Audit/sysprep/capture methode?
  19. this has nothing to do with AntiVirus. This is a .NET Exception when you try to use an filed of an array which is out of the range. if you have an array of 5 fields and want to use the 6th element .net throws this exception. @dandelo When does it happen? Please post the steps

    vlite error

what was the cause? Maybe other users want to know the cause
  21. you've used the Azdit mode to install the Sp1 and Sp2. In this mode you can also install the applications. When you now sysprep the image and capture it into a new install.wim you have your own Recovery DVD
  22. this is right. Removing components breaks SP installer. Get a Sp2 slipstreamed DVD from MS (MSDN/Technet) and make a new vLited DVD and reinstall.
  23. How do I update (unattended) an existing Bootmanager (Vista) to the the new Win7 Bootmanager so that I can later add the VHD, I've created with WIM2VHD, to the Bootmenu?
  24. what do you mean with vLite Installation? If you didn't use vLite to remove components you can delete this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\vLite But, do not try this on a vLited Vista Sp1, Sp2 Installer will always FAIL!
  25. what do you want? To add applications to the Vista DVD? If yes, try WPI or use the Audit Mode -> capture method
