  1. it is stored inside the imageres.dll. You can also find it inside the sources folder of the DVD
  2. bcdedit /set {guid} device vhd=[locate]\windows7.vhd bcdedit /set {guid} osdevice vhd=[locate]\windows7.vhd replace guid with the guid of your entry and change location to the new location of the file.
  3. skip this update. This is the servicing stack update. vLite can't handle th new version. try to get an integrated ISO from MSDN/Technet
  4. Here is the reverse integration guide: http://www.winbeta.org/comments.php?catid=1&id=9536
  5. your source DVD must be Windows Vista Sp1! This fix is included inside the already sp2 integrated Images from MS.
  6. sure, the Sp1 is integrated but not completely installed. Several updated packages (all Windows functions are grouped as packages starting with Vista) are still pending to be installed. But if you use the WAIK reverse integration method to integrate the Sp1, the Sp1 installer makes several restarts and so the Sp1 is fully installed. Why do you want to make a upgrade?

  8. on which OS are you running the WAIK? Windows Vista Sp1/Sp2 or Windows 7 Beta or RC?
  9. could you please post the error message?
  10. hmm, try to install .net 3.5 Sp1 (which installs .net 2.0 and 3.0 SP2) and try to rerun vLite. Perhaps this is a .net bug.
  11. How did you mount the Image? Please post your commandline
  12. DON'T use the Windows 7 RC WAIK for use with vLite! YOU HAVE TO USE THE WAIK 1.1!
  13. Could you please make a picture of the Error and copy all the details and paste them here when you try to use vLite?
  14. Hi Thomas, yes it is better to use the ImageX from WAIK 1.1! Have you specified the Vista Edition with the /flags parameter? André
  15. please disable any running AntiVirus tools and try again!
  16. you have to keep Application Experience
  17. copy the x86 WIMGAPI.dll from your WAIK folder to vLite folder!
  18. wrong! IE is safe when you have UAC on! Now IE runs in protected mode (Low IL) and so viruses can't copy themselves into the system.
  19. there wil be no extra WAIK for Vista Sp2. You have to use the Win7 RC WAIK. Can you please post the error you get?
  20. do you have the matching LP for Sp2? If yes it is possible. Business is a 1 UI Language Version, so you have to select the language when installing Vista. If you integrate the LP you can select RU as language.
  21. that's what I also thought, but I didn't get the prompt to change the password. That's why I'm so confused // Edit: I got the solution. The password is wSS2008!. Source: http://quantumjohn.blogspot.com/2009/05/in...erver-2008.html It's also posted inside the ReleaseNotes inside the Windows Storage Server 2008 Embedded Tools (x86 and x64) - CD (English) Download. Next time I should read this first
  22. I've downloaded the Windows Storage Server 2008 ISO from Technet and want to play with it. I've installed the Basic Edition it into a VM and after the Setup I can't login, because I don't have the password and Setup never gave me the option to create a password. What's wrong?
  23. the feedback tool is based on your product key. It detects the kind of key (TechBeta, MSDN/Technet, Public). Which kind of key do you use?
  24. press F8 and select "Disable automatic reboot" and look if you can see error messages.
