  1. Short answer - they don't
  2. It's superceded by unofficial fixes.http://ryanvm.msfn.org/updatepack.html
  3. That's a topic that's been beaten to death on this board if you would have searched. Short answer - you can't load drivers from a floppy if you're using an unattended CD. Long answer - search for it.
  4. If you're not afraid to do some MSI hacking with Orca, you could probably bypass it. That being said, I'm not going to discuss it further on this board since that could very well be (and probably is) a violation of the EULA and hence against forum rules.
  5. http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.a...509&gprid=6794&Click the "Start E-mail Request" button and ask them for it.
  6. I've noticed before that Igor Pavlov doesn't always update the version numbers on his stuff between beta releases. I've witnessed it with his SFX modules. I wouldn't worry about it
  7. Only thing I can think of is if you went to beta.windowsupdate.com at some point or another and installed it then. But anyway, it's still in beta
  8. It's still in beta, and it's possible you followed a link to the beta site at some point in the past, at which point the files were installed. MS released a wireless hotfix awhile back that could only be gotten from WU6 beta, so I'm guessing that's a time you might have gotten it.

    Xpize 4 Suggestions

__integrate.exe looks for the presence of WIN51IP or WIN51IC in the directory one level up from the directory it's being run from. So in other words, it runs from i386 and it looks up one level for those files which would normally be in the root of the CD.

    XPize uAE 1.2

XPero, your work just keeps getting better and better. Keep it up!
  11. From my beta testing of it, it appears there is at least one new file with WU6, so a little txtsetup/dosnet modification may be required as well. On the other hand, it could just be with the beta. We'll see what happens when it goes final. As for when that'll be, I have no clue.
  12. That's a neat change, I have to say. That being said, I'll stick with my 12MB 7zip compressed AIP installer EDIT: Hmm, this one's at 16MB so far. Time to see if I can get it lower. Also, VDefHub.zip also exists for AIPs. I like it a LOT!
  13. Why aren't you just adding txtsetup.sif and dosnet.inf entries for the new files. XP should "recognize" them at that point. Otherwise, you might have to register some of the DLLs as well. You can have wmp.inf do it (it's already going to be unsigned anyway).
  14. Pretty much. It should be noted that mainstream support will end 2 years after Longhorn launches and extended support 5 years after Longhorn. That's a lot of time http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...fh;[ln];LifeWin
  15. I wouldn't be surprised if XP gets 4 or 5 service packs before it reaches its end of life.
  16. I certainly wouldn't mind a 4200+ in my next system. Multitasking performance is abysmal with my Barton system, and given that VirtualPC is one of the main programs I run, that's not a good thing
  17. For Intel systems, yes. For AMD systems, it's been shown experimentally that a value of 7-9 actually produces optimum results.
  18. Wraith, I feel your pain. I'm betting nuhi does too
  19. I remember from back in my IT days a few years ago that users with Nero on their computers needed to be made local admins for it to function properly. I don't know if that's still the case with current versions.
  20. Switchless means switchless as in no switches.
  21. Are you removing any components with nLite?
  22. umm...right above 6.0.3
