  1. If you use an INF, you can set it by making DOCSFOLDER equal %16389%, which is the same as %userprofile%\My Documents.
  2. Well, 1 out of 2 ain't bad
  3. @RyanVMWhat exactly are you referring to? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> WMP10 running on a test VM of mine. What might that mean?
  4. My take on it is that so long as I'm only repacking that which is freely available to start with, I don't see a problem with it. That being said, if I were ever asked to take one of my packages down by the copyright owner, I most certainly would. And for what it's worth, MS is aware (as in, I've actually gotten emails from a guy from MS before) of my .NET package and update pack and they don't care
  5. Meanwhile, what do we have here?
  6. The error has appeared with nLite users as well, regardless of whether or not they use my pack. The only common thread I'm seeing is that it's from winnt32.exe originated installs. There's a thread in the nLite forum with more info on the matter. I'd suggest you check it out.
  7. Windows Messenger 5.x adds new files to the CD which weren't in 4.7. I suppose it'd be possible to slipstream it in, but it wouldn't be as simple as just overwriting some files.
  8. OK, but are you sure that's a limitation of tcpip.sys or something else? That seems to me to be a different limitation (and hence unrelated to the thread topic). Not that I'm saying it's your fault it's off topic, but still
  9. And yeesh Nilfred, trying to scare the poor guy off? Holy way more complicated than it has to be. bigred, I'm guessing you don't understand that my pack is a direct integration into the CD, meaning it directly overwrites the files in i386. It's the cleanest, most efficient way of doing it. It adds very little to the size of the CD and requires no EXEs to run during setup. I've ranted on this forum many times about the deficiencies of the /integrate switch, so I'm not going to do that again. But long story short, it sucks and is hardly an "integration".
  10. I already told you once that's incorrect. It's not the number of concurrent connections that are limited, it's the number of incomplete TCP/IP requests that are limited. You can have 100 concurrent connections so long as they're not all trying to make the connection at the same time.
  11. For the record, my pack can be integrated with nLite, and it's still the best way to add hotfixes from a space used and time required standpoint. And XPCREATE is no better than any of the methods we were using two years ago. Get with the times
  12. I did with the directions in Windows Update Security Warning. Also add the 13 .cat to svcpack for completeness. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can tell you from my own personal testing that adding those CAT files is a waste of time.
  13. Just played with the slipstreamer for the first time. That's one helluva job you did, Gnome . You've got a PM from me.
  14. If you're using an English version of XP, I'd suggest this : | | | \/

  16. Highly unlikely
  17. 10 *incomplete* connections at once
  18. http://home.arcor.de/carsthom/updates/wmp10_updates.html
  19. Haven't tried anything yet Awesome!!!Is that gonna be v1.2.3 or v1.3? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dunno yet
  20. For what it's worth, I'm planning on full WMP10 integration in the next release (hotfixes included of course).
  21. I can host it on my site (ryanvm.net) too. Plenty of bandwidth to spare these days . Send me a PM.
  22. Gnome - www.whatcounter.com is what myself and nuhi use for tracking our downloads.
  23. PeerGuardian can interfere with downloads too. That being said, I'd appreciate people listening to the note on my website about not distributing it without my permission. Nobody wants my pack to end up with a distribution system like XPlode or XPCREATE ... dean_spleen09, send me a PM and we can discuss alternate ways of getting it.
  24. Nice job Gnome. I'm going to be saving this thread for future reference for when I add WMP10 to my own pack
