B) i never had a problem with me ,i know friends that did .it was better 4 drivers 4 me i didnt like the browser toolbar 2 small but overall it worked well i still have it on my moms pc a old dell 266mhz and never a problem.

7years and still cranking on millions of machines everywhere with new service packs themes etc.but like win95 the beast of microsoft is trying to phaze out 98se by making new programs and games work only on xp ex.msn 7.5,we knew it was comming .Sure theres still alot of companies providing apps designed to run on 9x like avg etc and most games still offer support.Now i like trusty little 98se it got a bad rap on stababity bsod but gapes sp2 sorta fixed that,so what do ya do.burn all the programs drivers service packs etc to cd now before support ends spring 2006 search for third party apps like trillium etc thatll run on 98se,the fact is by 2000 win95 users were faced with the same problem so get it now burn it.Any other suggestion should be made here.maintain that 98 membrane my friends.

win 98 cd is not bootable simple by setting bios too boot cdrom first u need a win98 floppy boot disk from www.bootdisk.com ,then put bios to boot from floppy first and run floppy from reboot choose cdrom loaded then itll install drivers to make cd rom read 98 cd at dos prompt type setup a:setup thats it u may need to format your hardrive c:format c:/u note space between format and letter c .good luck .

i put xp pro sp2 on a p2-400mhz 128mb ram sd 100 and it ran fine lagging just on game startups.

i use them both i find virtual pc is better for audio and vmware for networking but id have 2 give the edge to vmware myself.

brillant job i think anyone who can modify a xp ini to 98 is ok by me .its grat to see people trying to get stuff to work on 98se .

it was only a matter of time support for 9x is sliding 2 bad but as far as using aim trillium etc i believe the dude wants likes moods winks and emotes to part with it and im running 7.5 and its sweet.

someone should design a site for makinh msn yahoo etc work on 98se. who can do this ?

wholly dog biscuits batman. whats the dude smoking .98lite 4.7 i got that but its nothing like the winx project.sure 98lite was sweet but it was 9x a nt microwindows might be handy to many.i bet your mom would luv to run xp on her 166mhz pacard bell,now she can less resources less filler. its not everyones cup of mushroom tea but the size the speed that cool logo is perfect for quick installs if u find u need something back well nlite it back but if your provide a list of removed components and there dependies you,d know if microwinx was for you. people once thought that themes were dumb look at xps it was their stongest selling point creativity must live just someone tell bill gates to lose that richie cunningham hairdo.

u can remove all folders except the win98 folder which is about 120mb it contains all the setup and driver cabs to install win98se then u could collect all the patches or setups for the most current version of ie dx media player out for 98se being ie 6.0sp1 direct x 9.0c media player 9 u can find all at microsoft .com or even better mdgx.com a creator and forum regular here. i find its best to collect all the above and burn to cd for safe keeping future use because 98se loses support next year from microsoft so get everything now.

more smileys a must lol.sure u can just install xp full no tweaks etc ,most people i know just home users never heard of nlite ryans pack etc could care aless just load xppro and their happy bloat and all.then theirs the power user always tweaking hacking making the fastest stable intergated os known too man the nlite crowd,armed with a iso geared to unattented install xp too their liken.Now i use nlite im always looking to make the smallest usefull iso of xo i can got my lastest down to 700mb installed not bad but i had to remove media player display drivers modem drivers etc etc ,not a big problem for me ,in fact it install in like 10 minutes pretty sweet but alot of my friend love xp for one reason it finds and installs most drivers for most hardware a no brainer for the novice windows user,i guess not knowing about nlite aint so bad just install an os and be happy with it.in a forum theirs always confusion and flaming always omeone who swears their way is law or if u dont do as they have your a lamer behind the times and so on ,hell i no folks uing 98se who refuse to try xp cause there contend with a os they undrstand,so maybe everyone uses a program for there own personal needs and why agrue to them about it,i love nlite i loved 98lite i think any program that saves time and can tweak remove enhance a os is valuable a tool as well to whats in a os and what you can and should not remove.so try it out its not for everyone but it is the coolest program in its gender ived ever used that,ll ne 5 bucks nunhi lol

first off make sure u download internet explorer 6.0 sp1 then install gapes sp 2.02 a service pack designed to update your system to todays lastest tweaks patches etc it can be found here in the forum . direct x 9.0c id get that too. there a dozen people in here who will help ya tune your pc.

the benifits of nlite you say all the above reasons. example just 2day i nlited i sound like a junkie iam a nlite junkie lol ,i mase my 10th nlited cd why 10 trail and errors anyhow i stripped the hell out it and iso burn and it installed from start to finish clean formatted install only 10 minutes increbiable.if u remember 98lite quite a craze then fast forward to 2005 nlite enuff said.

sounds like a plan .im sursprized people havent hacked the crap out of xp already 57mb is wickit but you could accomplish 150 mb pretty easlier then its the trail and error method of removing stuff one by one which o guess youve done,as far as testers i agree why release anything thats usefull unless u test it and using gamers apps crazy installer people is a great idea to get a handle on things .i fall into the apps user catorogy myself ,all in all seem people are always demanding something before its properlly tested 4 the masses.the constant begging for gdogs ini etc is crazy i know everyone wants to say they got a mini xp maybe put it on a usb stick who knows but be patient folks and have another beer .its all good..
