try putting in a win 98 boot floppy and at dos prompt a: type a:sys c: leave a space between sys and c works sometimes then reboot after system transferred appears remove floppy .

The future of modding Windows 98SE looks rather good, with people currently attempting to create Unicode Libraries for XP-compatibility in programs. Theres alot of people dreaming of this ,the abitity to run made for xp only programs that soon could run on 98se .Why because alot of folks like 9x simpicity no activation etc etc but are forced to upgrade simple because a new app like eg.msn7.5 doesnt work on 98se or cant find drivers etc. The 9x forum has seen great strides in making this possible tinhy attempted this is his last offering of RP4 but still experimental but theres others approaching this aswell what a boon for 98se users if someone suceeds but im sure alot of people just like 98se and are pi**ed off that they cant run new apps.I no what your saying buy xp go with 2000 get with the times .your partly right but why are we forced to do this every 2 or 3 years when we pay for our os and must pay again.In closing maybe this thread will spark some interest in such a project and feel free to post ideas solutions etc on making this a reality in whatever small way.Thx u may the force be with you...

all of the above lol maybe hes like mitchellvision and he can go start his i hate 98se forum on some phb site or maybe he wants attention its not like hes giving us insight into other oses .i like 98se because its simplicity and all my stuff works on it as well .mind you i do run xp pro sp2 but use 98se on another box 75% of the time. my only beef is the nt only issue i wish someone make a program like tinhy was attempting to trick api to thinking its a nt os but then we have 3rd party appz open soucre so were not licked yet.

excactly miko links 21 is like a parrot with his rountine 98 sucks speech he must be on the xp team or something this is a win9x forum start a seperate trad on why 98se sucks link21 i and many otheres are interested in applying dx10 to 98se whether its possible or not many projects delopved in this forum things like 98se2me rp etc were all pipe dreams long shots until collabration sharing the knownlegde made it a reality .why run down a os to the very people that are unable or dont wish to use a nt based os .its important in a forum 2 help those less savy in tweaking a os thus the whole reason behind msfn a place to share better a os do u think 95/98/me forum was added 4 fun i guess the creators of msfn thiught it rightly had a place hereand it must because it draws alot of posts more than 2000 or xp next to nlite its probably the most posted forum in msfn because people want help in 9x period . i like the program that come from here.long live 9x

i think links ex gf must of left him for a 98se man lol .Who cares what os ya use ,use the os that best suits your pc hardware and software in 3 years link will be whining that xp is ancient cause hes got vista lol what a noob God i wonder if he hop over to other forums bashing 95 users . i use xp cause i can if someone came out with a convertor that would let me run nt programs on 9x a kernel 32 api device id run 98se in a minte cause its so second nature 2 me .if u never ran 95 98 in its heyday and enter the cyberworld on xp u cant appeciate how far weve come everything we have came from a 9x gui etc ,forget the past and your doomed 2 repeat something something u get the drift in closing link go play on your xbox or go harrass the playstation crowd hey why not tellthe n64 crowd they suck lol u need 2 get more this is the net try bingo your mom would luv the company.

open the installer with winrar then open setup inf see where it installs probably c: then change inf info to your hexen folder and close winrar overwriting inf its a long shot .

iam stuck in a rural area only dailup i dont run a firewall and run about 7 hrs aday online overnite downloads etc and no hacks yet.even on 98se beside theres nothing on my pc worth hacking .got a nlite unattented plus 98se unattented so no biggy/

i use the ram idle fuction in tweak powerpack 2005 it seems to work abit on pc running less than 256mb

i think ill go see Dr Hoiby's to help my eyesight lol
