  1. post a dir listing of oo cd. double check setupldr.bin and we can go from there
  2. are you sure you have the dvd-r set to master? try unhiding devices in the dev. manager and delete the shadow devices. try reinstalling the driver package for whatever you have (via 4in1, intel INF Update Utility)
  3. dol you have at root these files? WIN51IP.SP1 WIN51IP WIN51IC.SP1 WIN51IC WIN51
  4. Open the ISO of O&O BlueCon XXL Admini and extact thefiles + i386 folder to your cd root. Rename the i386 folder to something else (ex 00BL) that is 4 chars. Open \00BL\setupldr.bin in a hex editor and replace all instances of "i386" with "00BL" There are 4 entries in the entire file. Extract the boot sector from the iso and hex edit it to point to OOBL. This is basically the same method as adding ERDCommander or another build of a windows install.
  5. get a msi editor (Installshield, Wise,MaSaI...) and delete the install conditions. YOur apps still may not work on 2003 however.
  6. If your ext HD is doing optmized performance, it can lose data since it enables write caching. I have lost info too because of this. Set you policy for quick removal to ensure data integrity and not using low level utility app's will help as well (Partitioning programs, virus scanners, SYSTEM RESTORE!!, mounting iso's from an external drive, etc). TotalCopy is great! I use it quite a bit esp. for large copy/moves and groups of files that sometimes don't copy because they are locked. Windows normally stops everything at that point. Plus setting & seeing transfer speeds is a good bonus. Though i don't care for Copy Expert (www.fadesoft.com), you might want to try it for it's No Errors! Expert feature. (Integrity check)
  7. no one to date has gotten acronis products to work in a pe environment, except disk editor. You are better off just including the boot files in your build. Acronis works much faster in it's own recovery environment.
  8. regular erd commander 2003 cannot be installed on a hd, you can use bartpe or winpe as an alternate way to access erd features however.
  9. perhaps if one looked at this scsi driver problem as being similar to including scsi or other device drivers in an unattended distro.... maybe it wouldn't ask you where they are since you would have them already included....... or....copy the inf and sys files to the proper places using the $OEM$ method hmmmm......
  10. make a backup job, and then copy the script file located at %currentuser%\app. data\Acronis\TrueImage\Scripts, to the same loc. on target machine This may not work since the scripts contain machine and hd specific data (therefor, IMHO a dangerous solution). TI Server would be a better choice if you have the $ due to the fact that it does have scripting for admins. For settings, look in the reg @ HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Acronis\TrueImage Reg info is @ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis\TrueImage\Settings
  11. WinISO is not capable to handle special ISO builds, it will corrupt them. Use UltraISO or MagicISO.
  12. you should have loader.bin , cdsh.bin, and cdshell.ini as well as modules, fonts, etc in a folder named 'boot' at root level of your build. Use loader.bin as the bootfile when you make your build and all should go well. Try unhiding the 'boot' folder & files if you did in an attempt to make the folder structure of your AIO look 'cleaner'. Lognhorn is not the problem. When cdshell.ini is loaded, that displays the menu for OS selection. Once you selected 'Longhorn' from the menu, it would then fail to load if LH was the culprit. Your issue is before the menu is even displayed so it is proper loading of cdshell that should be your focus.

  15. if you made a win2k cd yourself are these at root? CDROM_IA.5 -if adv. server build CDROM_IP.5 - pro build CDROM_IS.5 - server build CDROM_NT.5 - probably the file you do not have at root cdromsp4.tst - needed for a lipstreamed ver w/ sp4 (if you slipstreamed sp2 or sp3 before sp4, you will need to include the cdromsp file for that version as well/ READ1ST.TXT README.DOC spnotes.htm
  16. even with sp4 installed, MS K305098 supplies a lba reg solution and min. hardware specs for support.
  17. Yes. Using onboard video takes away from your total memory and makes the cpu work a lot more.

  19. You can grab msconfig from winxp and use it w/o many problems. There are a few gliches, but nothing critical that I've ran into. Place it in \winnt\system32 (\winnt works also). It should then run from the 'run' box by typing it in. Get the latest vb5/6 and scripting runtimes to minimize the errors.
  20. mobsync--- Open IE-->Tools-->Sync Manager. Uncheck all entries. Open IE-->Tools-->Internet Options-->Advanced. Uncheck Offline entries willbe sync'd. CtfMon
  21. The acronis trueimage mounter is not a cert. driver so you get the 'are you sure you wantt to continue...'. set your driver signing warning to 'ignore' and then try.
  22. 1.Disable windows cd burning service. Uninstall the drive in device manager, reboot and let it redetect. 2.Then try Nero's Registry and General Clean Tool. I have fixed almost all problems of this type with or w/o Nero installed (including a DVD-ram identity crisis). A very handy tool 3.Try Nero's InCD Reader v4. At the very least, install Nero's Aspi layer. (Disregard if you use EasyCDCreator) 4.If you like Alcohol 120% d/l a trial of it and make an image of the disk. I have solved many frustrating media problems w/ Alcohol 120%.. Hope it helps!

  24. 1. uninstall if you have...Morgan Multimedia Stream Switcher, matrox mixer. (if you have a codec pack installed, chances are you do) reboot and test... 2. unistall those codec packs! they cause more problems than they fix. reboot and test... 3. uninstall powerdvd. download mp9 and install it fresh. reinstall poiwerdvd. reboot and pray... regardless of the above you should.... download the xp sound drivers for you soundcard. and uninstall the old sound card by way of device manager, then install the fresh xp specific sound drivers and make sure your dvd player has the sound via digital audio enabled in it's property window.
  25. don't use WinISO you will run into corruption issues. Set loader.bin as the boot file and rebuild your ISO so it's fresh.
