i seem to be having some trouble with my pc. when i boot the pc on i cant get any display from either the onboard video card or my agp video card. its like its not powering the monitor on, yet the monitor is working perfectly on this pc im using now. i have recently bought a brand new 550w psu and motherboard so i can try and get my other pc working. i have 2 different cpus and 2 sticks of ram. i have tried switching them around to see if theyre the problem. it seems everything is booting up but just no display, im totally stumped as to what could be the problem. i am only connecting up the psu, cpu , ram , mouse n keyboard so it should still be able to boot atleast so i can get to the bios. any suggestions.

i just use LupasRename. Works like a charm for both folder and file renaming.

in that diagram it looks as though its showing the $OEM$ folder as a subfolder of the i386 , in which case its completely wrong as the $OEM$ folder stays at the root of the install cd.

there are guides for firefox and nero on the forums already. as for realvnc pssh u should just get tightvnc or ultravnc as theyre free and have alot more far better features, look on the application switches page and just try installing and uninstalling it a few times using the various switches until it eventually installs silenetly.

depends on what you would want changing to make it win2k3, if its simply the words and buttons moved around abit then it wont take more than a couple of minutes to change. My old version i did translate into norwegian for somebody. all i need is the dutch setup.exe so that i can resource hack it and get all the translated text. email ur dutch setup.exe to StephenJohnson@Safe-mail.net and ill translate it when i get the chance.

Took me abit longer than expected to get it up onto my host as they set my storage space on the FTP to 15MB instead of 150MB. you can either use programs like Axialis Icon Workshop , Paint Express or one of the many free png to icon converters that you should be able to find on sites like softpedia.com

I dont find that kind of comment very productive. Some ppl, myself included like to have things neat and tidy with files and folders in a certain case. i too wouldnt mind changing it from WINDOWS to Windows as i prefer to have all folder names with First letter up.

RunOnce should really wait on its own before calling the next setup. you can try using sleep.exe or just pinging an unobtainable ip with a timeout of a certain amount of time.

4Bit only im afraid wish Mobo manufacturers would make it so that u can use 24Bit or even 32Bit images for windows loading.

Sounds like it may have changed a few settings in your registry. This regfile should put all the settings for cmd, bat and exe files back to the original settings.

the icon size will be the same as the ones on your desktop and folders.

you should be able to find plenty of alternative logon screens on the web. the file u replace is the Logonui.exe i am currently using the nice xpized one. not sure what u mean for installer. if you mean the installer that windows uses then u need to modify the file winntbbu.dll you may also want to look in the setup billboard forum wallpaper u can change by adding it in the $OEM$ folders and then using a reg file to set the wallpaper you may want to look in the WPI ( Windows Post Installer ) forum as that will allow u to pick specific programs to install.

Sure, i have only done the ones for explorer.exe, msgina.dll and shell32.dll. hopefuly u can make sense of what im trying to explain in the HOWTO file. you should also read the reshacker.hlp file and read up on scripts. theyre very simple to write and make things alot easier in future. Personally i would extract them all and then resource hack shell32.dll. what i do is keep a few scripts to replace all the icons,bmps, avis from within the main ones like explorer ,msgina, shell32. then all i have todo is put all the icons that have been extracted into a folder replace them with my own. run the script and bam it will replace them all within the shell32.dll. it certainly does make things alot easier if u like to change things in those files on a regular basis.

Did you not read what i just said ??? I specifically said i DO NOT want to use $OEM$ folders or reg tweaks to set them. That just leads to extra files and more junk installed. all of my files in my xpized cd have been directly replaced including system files like logonui and ntoskrnl , thus allowing me to make a much neater and cleaner disc. anyway the problem is that even after deleting all the .cur and .ani from the cursors folder, the system default is still useable. this leads me to believe that they are stored somewhere else on the system. none of the other schemes will work when u try them. It will instead tell u that the file is missing from the Cursors folder. im guessing they are stored in a dll, i have checked the usual ones like explorer, shell32 and msgina but cant seem to find them.
