  1. I dunno, but Windows XP was starting to make me peed off! Thanks to Windows product activation and Windows Genuine Advantage.
  2. Mostly USB support and some visual enhancements (32-bit icons, gradient titlebars). Setting Tahoma as the system font would be nice too. I don't use NT4 anymore but it was my main OS several years ago. Fast as hell for sure. Those are just cosmetics I'd expect some more 'serious' cons against NT4 than that Ie lack of DX beyond DX5, lack of drivers for newer hardware, etc etc... Other than that its just great OS, perhaps one of the best to come out from Redmond (or should I say from IBM ) Actually worse, it only supports DirectX 3!
  3. Then make a separate post for each one. That's how I have been doing it.
  4. You're way under the limit!
  5. Zero filled I hope . Yep.
  6. Partition Magic is picky! Partition Magic is known to start erroring on people unless the HDD is low level erased!
  7. Seems like it isn't being read properly and there isn't any CRC checking!
  8. I agree with you! It does sound like a corrupted MSI installation.
  9. The limit is intended to limit the maximum amount of printers and computers per LAN. While the limit may not apply to third party HTTP servers, such as Xitami and Apache, it DEFINITELY is intended to prohibit more than 10 printers and computers per LAN!
  10. That sounds worse than dialing with dial-up!
  11. That don't sound like a bad CD drive! A bad CD drive usually causes the dreaded "Track or focus error" or "Could not perform fixation" errors.
  12. It's supposed to feel like November on August 20! Thus, I have to brace myself for leaves falling off the trees in August and the peak foliage in early September!
  13. It looks like the unallocated space is on drive C. Try to resize the partition on drive C.
  14. You must be using the wrong HAL. Windows 2000 handles up to two physical CPUs (cpu sockets). Windows uses the same HAL for multi core and multi cpu systems. Your admins may need to select a "custom" HAL at the time Windows is installed. http://www.microsoft.com/hk/windows2000/faq.htm On topic, Windows 98 isn't going to do to SMP any time soon. It's time to move on to a modern operating system fellas! What about quad core? Does that mean everybody is required to get Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003?!
  15. Sounds like stubborn DRM. Are you using Windows Vista?
  16. LOL!
  17. The FLUX capacitor! Maybe, I can go back to the 1980s! ...And bring my PC with me! Good luck with finding an internet connection! LOL!
  18. That problem is known to occur if the following is true: You have a Phillips 107S monitor and you use the monitor driver from Phillips. (It's fine with the Microsoft monitor driver) You have all of the SDR SDRAM slots filled up on a Chaintech CT-7AJA2E motherboard. (Only confirmed on that motherboard) That occurred when I had 3 128 MB SDR SDRAM modules.
  19. Internet Explorer is known to crash if you install Flash Player with the generic 16-color driver.
  20. Sounds like it was set to the Windows 2000-style theme then it randomly is set back to the default Windows XP theme.
  21. I hate it when Windows is being a SLOB! Holy HDD fragmentation, Batman! BTW, how about names?
  22. This shall *never* occur with PCs of the 2000s! Thus, looks more like a faulty motherboard or power supply.
  23. I dunno about that. While it definitely does to boot, I haven't heard of it using DOS to create directories! It's less dependent that 3x. It's not supposed to use DOS for disk access.
  24. Apparently, Defrag is less likely to restart with more RAM. PCs that have less than 128 MB of RAM are the most likely to suffer from Defrag restarts. Even with Windows 98, you should have at least 256 MB of RAM. Hopefully, you have at least that.
