  1. You can try using VideoLAN for videos and such and use either FB2K or MusikCube for music
  2. Yeah, its called "MENU BAND"... You can change this in the registry: Located at: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{5b4dae26-b807-11d0-9815-00c04fd91972} To removed the MENU BAND, all you have to do is put a - in between the { and the 5... so the registry key should now look like this: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{-5b4dae26-b807-11d0-9815-00c04fd91972} And restart your computer, and it should be gone... to get the MENU BAND back all you have to do is removed the -
  3. In regards to my post ealier about the folder issue, it has nothing to do with .CPL files... Just for provings sake, I removed all .CPL files, and there was still the 'folder' folder in the control panel, which means that printers and faxes are NOT linked to any .cpl file... PLUS it does not remove the start menu item of printers and faxes (not the control panel)... I guess I'll just have to live with it
  4. No, I mean this... Its bugging the crap outta me
  5. Well first off all what I would do is remove the page file by right clicking on my computer >> properties >> advanced >> performance settings >> advanced >> change >> then click no paging file and click set and click ok blah blah blah......... Theres not much you can do with alot of RAM but you'll notice a big performance hit with video editing and using photoshop and stuff like that I have 2GB and I don't use video editing or anything like that, I found it that it has increased my FPS in games a slight bit though not a HUGE amount, but its noticable in GTA:SA though with the 10x draw distance mod... LOL
  6. Yeah, most games that I have played that are "LAN" only can be played over the internet
  7. ah who cares if its a fake or not, have YOU got an image to prove that its a fake or not ?
  8. Uhm.. You can host your own LAN using NFSU2... Just setup your gateway through TCP/IP settings to your IP address... and then setup your server... then to get other computers connected to that server, they have to put in your IP address in the gateway field
  9. I wish somebody would say hello to me... but then again, I'm a lurker
  10. Hmmm.... Does anybody know how to remove the "Printers and Faxes" menu option in the startmenu and in the control panel? Aswell as the Network Places?... I have kinda removed them but they leave a "folder" icon...
  11. Possible because of the way the internel code works, because XP is workstation based and 2003 is server based, its code (or maybe its kernal structure) is completey different to handle memory ? At the moment, I'm currently removing all elements of windows besides video and sound (since I need sound for Winamp to function), if people could list their entire windows directory listing it could help me achieve my goal Thanks in advance !
  12. how come this is posted in the nlite forum aswell
  13. uhm.... ok *pats you on the head*
  14. Self Explanatory I found this quite amusing Wife 1.0 does exist
  15. Does anybody know anything about hacking the Kernel Subsystem ? Would be handy to get my hands on any information
  16. Thats wrong, very wrong indeed, I would hate to visit that site if it does that everytime !
  17. Me thinks its just a development SDK or something... Or you need a program that was developed using Avalon/Indigo to take control of the new stuff ?!

  20. Sigh, another "Linux is so ghey, Windows it the greatest" thread. Well its the message I'm getting anyways, put it this way, if you want to run Windows, run windows, want to run Linux, run linux. SIMPLE AS THAT ! I'm sick of all of these threads about people going to linux from windows and expect it to do everything and have it nice and easy, and then they complain if something doesn't work. I have been using Linux for some time now (3 years and counting, close to it anyways) and I have come across some really tough spots I must say, and frustrated at times, and threatened my computer with a WindowsXP cd, LOL... BTW, I run linux on my main machine, and Windows on my other 2 machines. I find the challenge of Linux a very good learning curve. I use HP-UX at work which is a form of Unix, and it is quite good for picking up hardware and the like. My guess is that Windows is for major software developers and users, and Unix/Linux and even Apples OS (which is also unix based) is for major hardware developers and users. Apple has its industry in hardware, go figure ! My 2 cents
