  1. Lol since when was XPE designed to be booted off a flash card? It was designed for embedded appliances.
  2. Most computer stores don't sell food though...
  3. AIDS Education Global Information System
  4. Retired!!!
  5. Even torrents aren't safe. Some "peers" go on and log every other peer/seed they connect to.
  6. Lol the globe is suppose to be chopped off. Haven't you seen the beta?
  7. I'm not buying the next three Windows revision (Vista and beyond) since with every new architecture change, there's bound to be bugs, especially with a codebase as big as Vista's. The NT 5.0 codebase took about three revisions to mature into a stable OS, so I expect NT 6.0 to take that long as well.
  8. VistaXP's good, but not that good. There's a few bugs that need to (won't be) worked out, such as the mini-windows present in PS are terribly skinned, and when you maximize a window, the glass effect goes away.
  9. Not much in the way of improvements. Heard they've remade the network and sound stacks, but your money's better spent on a faster connection and an X-fi sound card than buying an entire new OS. And it's gonna take a long @#$!ing while for nuhi to create an nLite version for this, since the dependencies are nowhere similar to the 2K, XP, 2003 OSes.
  10. XP SP2 already has DX9c. Check the file versions of a few DX files to make sure.
  11. Are the multipliers unlocked? I remember my old computer had a 2600+ unlocked so I changed the bus to 333MHz and the multiplier down to 6.
  12. How much memory do you have in that system? 64MB ?
  13. Well how else do you think all that heat's generated ? But the 120+W measurement was probably when the card was peaking. Shouldn't use that much on idle.
  14. Yup and if you read my post right above yours, you would know you just restated what I've said . Still wondering how you fix the PE header though.
  15. Windows XP Starter Edition in Thailand Windows XP Starter Edition in Turkey Windows XP Starter Edition in Malaysia Windows XP Starter Edition in Indonesia Windows XP Starter Edition in Russia Windows XP Starter Edition in India Windows XP Starter Edition in Brazil Windows XP Starter Edition in Argentina Windows XP Starter Edition in Chile Windows XP Starter Edition in Mexico Windows XP Starter Edition in Ecuador Windows XP Starter Edition in Uruguay Windows XP Starter Edition in Venezuela And Windows XP 64-Bit Edition is different than Windows XP x64 Edition (Former is for IA64-based Itanium processors while the latter is for AMD64-based processors).
  16. And fake . Processors don't explode. I read somewhere that they put some form of explosives underneath the table and blew that up instead.
  17. X1800XT usually costs that much. You might want to make sure you have adequate cooling though, since this card can easily hit 90C. Its performance is equivalent to a 7800GTX, which is better than a stock 7900GT. I wouldn't recommend OCing a 7900GT as lots of problems have arisen with even factory-OCed cards. X1900XTX will *smoke* this card. In 3DMark, the X1800XT usually hits around 8500 marks while the X1900XTX can nearly hit 12000 marks. That's quite a difference in my opinion.
  18. Paperweight . Or a very inconspicuous safe. You know, just remove the side panel and put your pr0n magazines in . And I was under the impression that rip wasn't much of a soccer fan either...
  19. Lol yeah I was only joking . I have an Opteron 165, not that good of an overclocker. Only went from 1.8GHz to 2.4GHz. Conroe's a much better overclocker. Heard that the lowest-rated model went from 1.6ish (I can't remember) to 3.7ishGHz using a high-end air cooler (that one with the fan in between the heatsink). It can get more megahurtz than any Opty I know of and it has more IPC (instructions per clock), so you should go the Conroe route any day.
  20. Probably word processing .
  21. From the benchies I've seen, this processor is amazingly fast ! Can't wait until it's released .
  22. Don't expect any major architecture overhaul from AMD anytime soon, just look at their roadmap. So if you want to use the most efficient processor available to you, you'll have to stick to the Intel route. And while they do still have an external memory controller, Intel recently added a feature so that each processor has its own bus to memory.
  23. I made a giant security patch for Windows Server 2003 the other day. It does involve a bit of manual labor, but you can't really beat reducing 250MB worth of patches to 16MB . First step is to extract all of your files with the hotfix.exe -x switch. I extracted each to a different folder numbered by release date. Folder 1 contained the most recently released patch, while 34 contained the oldest patch. Next step is to copy over the files from the QFE folder of each patch. I started from folder 34 and copy/pasted all the files over to one folder. If a file prompt appears asking to overwrite the file, overwrite it only if the file is a newer version. Note that none of the update files are copied over, as they're not needed. This next step is a bit time-consuming. Do a search for each file to find out where they're located. If they don't exist at all or they're only located in the "dllcache" folder, then it's safe to delete them. Next, recreate the folder structure, but within your update folder with all the patch files. For example, if you have two files such as gdi32.dll and win32k.sys in your update folder, and you find that they're both located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder, and your patch folder is located in C:\updates, create a Windows\System32 folder in your updates folder so that your final path looks like C:\updates\Windows\System32. Copy your update files (in this case, gdi32.dll and win32k.sys) to that folder. Once you're done with the above steps, your update folder should look a bit like: Updates\Program Files Updates\Program Files\Internet Explorer -iexplore.exe Updates\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DW -dwdcw20.dll Updates\Windows -explorer.exe -hh.exe Updates\Windows\System32 -gdi32.dll -win32k.sys The final step is to compress everything in your updates folder. My RARed archive looks like this: ws2003_sp1_updates06132006.rar -Program Files -Windows To update your system just extract the files to your system drive. Or you could create a batch file to do it for you. (unrar.exe ws2003_sp1_updates06132006.rar %systemdrive%) Using this method, I ended up reducing 34 patch files weighing at 250MB to a single 16.2MB RAR archive. Truly worth the effort .
  24. Intended for all owners of dual-core processors, AMD Dual-Core Optimizer is a piece of software that allegedly improves gaming performance by bypassing Windows' API in some specific situations. 25. Only disadvantage is that it requires a huge lookup table (7GB for passwords with symbols such as @ % #).
