  1. The Net?
  2. All I can say is, go to the link, and in the address box on that page type in http://www.msfn.org/board. The 80's Server -- Valley URL
  3. If you're using an ATI card, is there anyway to go through the control panel and change the positioning of the image on your TV?
  4. Right before I had logged on here I had just got done disconnecting my WRT54G and replacing it with my good ol' Netgear router. Does anyone have ANY suggestions for good firmware for the WRT54G? I'm extremely frustrated with it and before I call it a piece of sh!t and return it, I'd really like to be able to see if different firmware can fix it! Thanks!
  5. I would strongly suggest NOT formatting until you've atleast tried to follow the directions in the link I posted. Like I said, I followed those directions and was able to save 95% of information of a 120GB harddrive that I couldn't even boot from, or fix through Disk manager.
  6. If your harddrive is NTFS, and you've got an extra hard drive, then hopefully this article will be of some help. It worked for me, and I was able to recover 95% of my information off a Maxtor 120GB harddrive (NTFS format). Hard Drive Data Recovery
  7. Crap! And I'd just upgraded mine to v4.0....
  8. Could it have anything to do with the router? Could you try resetting that?
  9. I'm looking at this page and I was wondering; am I even on the correct page, and if so, which one did you download?
  10. As a last resort, you could always do a repair install...
  11. I've had that problem too; except it happens sometimes when I boot up my computer. I just right click on the icon and select "Repair." Like you said, we shouldn't HAVE to do that. Even when the little ball is moving back and forth underneath the little computer icon and it says "Acquiring network address," I can still surf the web and do all the normal stuff. Very strange!
  12. Nice site! Actually, on the very site you linked to, it actually mentions Linksys' router. The WRT54GP2 supports 802.11 b/g wireless, VoiP, DSL/Cable, Ethernet Switch, the usual good stuff. Click that link for more info. I also noticed above that someone mentioned the Linksys WRT54G. I bought that router nearly a month ago at Circuit City when it was on sale and set it up at home. After upgrading the firmware (3.x to 4.x) and setting up all the security options, etc., I'm afraid to say that it STILL kicks me off the wireless network randomly. And it's just not my computer; EVERYONE on the wireless network get's kicked off. I can't ping the router from any of the computers, and I have to restart the router in order to be able to get back on the wireless network. You think I'm doing something wrong? It does this about once a week, so it's not really THAT big of deal, but it's still annoying. You might also want to check out Netgear's 802.11g routers. Hope that helps...
  13. D'oh! Forgot about that one!
  14. I had that on my laptop. It was horrible. Even after I had removed the main Nail.exe file, pop-ups came like crazy. Here's some advice that may work (because I uninstalled mine the wrong way): Reboot into safe mode. Click Start->Run-> %systemroot%\nail.exe /FullRemove After that, download and update the following Anti-Spyware programs, then run them in safe-mode: Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Spybot Search & Destroy Microsoft AntiSpyware (beta) Make sure you also do a virus scan! Hope that helps.
  15. If you cap the flag, you're automatically put in first place...
  16. Those are amazing! Have the PC requirements been listed yet?
  17. Thanks for the suggestion; yes, I did upgrade the firmware. Am currently running 4.x.something. I think that's what I'm trying to do... I want my Linksys router to be the main router, 'cause it connects to the internet via my Netopia modem. So then, the Linksys router sounds out the signal to my desktop, and I want my desktop to use the signal it's receiving from the Linksys router as the internect connection for my Netgear router. That still not make sense? Sorry if it isn't. ---------- They are; they are also in the same workgroup. All are able to see each other and share folders, etc. I think I've got that part right. My Linksys router is automatically set up to give each computer it's own IP address. Here's what I've got configured: Linksys WRT54G Router IP Address: 192.168.1.1 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 ROGUE1 (My desktop computer) IP Address: 192.168.1.100 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 Desktop2 is 192.168.1.101, Laptop1 is 192.168.1.102, etc. I want to connect my second router (the Netgear router) to my LAN port on my desktop, and use my desktop's connection from the Linksys router as the Netgear's "internet" connection. In other words, I think I'm trying to say I want my desktop to be the "Cable/DSL modem" that my Netgear router is getting it's connection from. Am I making any sense yet? Sorry! *EDIT* - Just a thought; I changed the IP address on my Netgear router to 192.168.0.1. Linksys WRT54G IP Address: 192.168.1.1 Netgear MR814v2 IP Address: 192.168.0.1 Should I also change the Subnet mask on my Netgear router so it is something like 255.255.0.0 and it doesn't match the Linksys router, or do they both have to have the same Subnet Mask? Thanks in advance!
  18. Was playing Halo the other night, and this is the score I wound up with at the end of the game: I still only came in second place, and in 5 more seconds I would have had that one extra kill... And no, the photo was not edited. I was just in a server full of 12 year olds trying to have a flame war.
  19. Well, I bought a Linksys WRT54G wireless router a week or so ago, and finally had the chance to hook it up. My original router was a Netgear MR814v2 wireless router. Here's the specs: Linksys WRT54G - 802.11g (54mbps) Netgear MR814v2 - 802.11b (11bmps) Both have the four port hub in the back. I have a DSL internet connection. My DSL modem is a Netopia 3300. My current set up is this: The Netopia 3300 connects to the Linksys WRT54G. My desktop (ROGUE1) receives the signal via my Netgear MA111 USB adapter. My motherboard also has a built in 10/100 network card. My question is this: Could I somehow configure my computer so that, in a sense, I could share my incoming connection (the Netgear MA111) and route it to my built in 10/100 LAN port, and connect my Netgear MR814v2 to that LAN port, and set it up so that my router thinks that that LAN port is actually a cable/dsl modem? I'm tried sharing my Linksys wireless connection on my computer, but when I connect to the Netgear router using another computer, I can't get to the internet. Sorry if I'm not making any sense; perhaps this picture may help: I'm doing this for "fun", if you will. I just have too much time on my hands...
  20. On the East Cost it is. Here's my desktop for this month: In the bottom right-hand corner of my desktop is NASA TV Live via Yahoo! However, when I took the screen shot, the picture of the video didn't show up....anyone know why it doesn't do that? Anyways, now that the Discovery is up in space, I want to keep a close eye on the mission and make sure those folks get home safely!
  21. I'm a noob, so here's a really dumb question: Is your memory on your computer [giving the error] good?
  22. Download Delpart. The utility deletes NTFS partitions (which FDISK cannot see), thus enabling you to create FAT32 partitions. Click here to visit the Delpart website. When they refer to the disk that you put Delpart on, just put it on a MS-DOS boot disk that you can create in Windows XP. Hope that helps.
  23. I'm having the same problem as you, Blam-o. Let me know if you find a solution!
  24. Wonder if this is how Christopher Columbus felt when he told people he thought the world was round? To be able to expand and create better technology, don't we have to be open minded and think outside the box? If ours minds stay set then we'll just stay in an endless loop, right? I know next to nothing about the IT field, as I am just a beginner. However, from the 9 pages of this forum, it sounds like this software may very well be the next step in the evolution of PC protection. So, even though we can't have demo software to play with, can we atleast buy some of the company's stock?
  25. Ok, I removed those entries. But the pop-ups are still coming... All seems well when I turn the laptop on, but after it sits for a while or after running IE for a while, the pop-ups attack with a vengence.
