  1. FYI to add the SP2 in to the nLite cd you need to be doing that on a 64 bit machine running a 64 bit OS. So wht I had to do was isntall XP 64 bit regularly and on my new machien and then create the nLited iso on it and then burn a cd and then reinstall again with the SP2 slipstreamed into it.
  2. My XP 64 bit on the other hand is a paltry 2.4 gb hehehehe
  3. Nah a lot of people in the open source community are very happy that Sun bought MySQL. Java is an excellent product, so is netbeans 6.0 as an IDE and so is Glassfish as an app server. Now that they have the database, it is a complete and open source stack. Makes total sense for a lot of projects. Good thing is all the products are so lightweight!
  4. I wonder what changes they made to that first M1 release. I am sure they started with the Vista codebase with the SP integrated and went from there....
  5. If you are getting rid of it meaning you are selling it? I may be interested in buying....
  6. I would be interested in reading your machine specs...and what you would be doing with 4 TB of storage!
  7. To make matters worse I have a 30 inch screen! But it does mention though that the targeting reticle is not available when he is not targetting...which means that when he does the reticle shows up?
  8. Did a quit bit of digging around and it looks like contig.exe + PageDefrag is the best solution when it comes to free
  9. I am using Perfect Disk on xp 64 bit on a raptor raid 0 setup...when I try to do the offline defrag I end up getting a BSOD. My question is have any used or do you even bother to use the offline defrag right before the system boots up so it can defrag the system files and the page file? Oh and Ultradefrag looks great! It even has that offline defrag facility present. I think I might give it a shot when I get home! Thanks Mio. I wonder if there are any reviews of it out on the web.
  10. Wow nice post nightshade. i have yet to install that game on my quad core rig but now I know where to look for and the cause of any problems that I face!
  11. I was about to buy that game...there are no cross hairs in it? I dont know about you but that makes it impossible to aim especially from an off the shoulder type of view...I have never heard of that complaint from other people though...surely there is a game setting that enables the cross hairs?
  12. No one can play the game at full settings. Thats a given. I have yet to try it because frankly I am not interested and because I have a huge catalogue of games to go through first and beat them. I am almost done with GRAW. THen Splinter CEll Double Agent, then Vegas and GRAW2, COD4 and then some more...so by the time I get to Crysis, I am sure it will be another 6 months and the price will have halved. By that time some more patches will be released, Nvidia will have had more time to beef up their drivers and then a lot of complaints about the game not running on high end hardware will be squashed. I dont know about unoptimized code and what not since I have not seen the games source code but if what I hear is correct in terms of the visuals, I am not surprised that it pushes current hardware to the limits.
  13. Probably one of the best posts I have seen a while. Nice post cluberti. I agree 100%. There is no way I would consider going the Windows 2000 route after having used the nLited XP 64 bit. Utterly brilliant. Espcially if you have the drivers for it.
  14. Dang! That's good, especially with 0 mistakes!! Thanks but my younger brother can crank out over 120 wpm... I have excuses...my keyboard is brand new and I am still not getting used to it...and I switch between keyboards at work and at home. blah blah but at the end of the day, my brother is a brutally fast typer!
  15. I got 107.71 wpm and 465 cpm and 0 mistakes.
  16. I looked at this card closer and it only bosts a 30% increase in speed over an ultra. I have 2 of those in SLI...I kinda thought that each GX2 would be nearly 75% faster than an existing ultra...coz there are 2 of those suckers in there after all!
  17. THey will be out soon and they already have laptops demoed at CES with them in there. They are clocking all the way to 2.8 ghz.
  18. Fixes a few important issues. Not all the way there yet but prob the final version will be out in the next few weeks. Finally I can get my 7.1 working under XP 64 bit.
  19. I see what you are saying razorwing but I dont think you can simply add two things together. Like for example the SP1 for Win XP 64 bit was 300 mb or so. Yet my ISO for XP 64 bit is 230 MB with the SP slipstreamed into it..
  20. Anyone tried it yet and gained any performance? Plus I read that 169.28 drivers are out from Nvidia and despite those being beta drivers they offer some boost in performance when coupled with the patch...especially for those with SLI systems...
  21. I am using CCleaner and it does not use .NET fyi...
  22. Yes CDs are out this era but I would still be able to love to have SP1 and Vista fit on a CD. That OS needs all the help it can get!
